Yeah I play with Pro HUD and don't fast travel. Have recently hit 190 hours though so won't be playing now until the DLC hits, want to see my Hero path in all it's glory, even though I have all the shrines, side quests and memories done! Reckon there is still a few cool things that I have simply missed!
@Tsurii In the beginning of the game I didn't fast travel and either rode or walked everywhere. But once I'd done the towers and all and was doing all the MMO-type gathering/killing/fetch questing for leveling up all my armors to level 4 I started fast traveling like crazy.....after like the 10th time riding through guardian territory around the castle it starts to get really really old just to chase down that star fragment or go kill 5 MORE fire lizalfos because the next level requires even more of them.
@DarthNocturnal OMG a feature Bethesda itself says is buggy? Considering what the stuff they say isn't buggy runs like what is an admitted buggy feature for Bethesda? "Press A for system freeze."?
@StuTwo I've been playing with Pro Hud on since the start and I think I've only used fast travel once, maybe twice and that was near the start of my adventure.I feel like it's cheating using fast travel.
@StuTwo ...I also played about the first 50 hours with only three or four hearts, mostly because I couldn't be bothered to stop adventuring just to cash in my orbs.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit Wow. I've only been playing the game - you've been living it!
In hindsight I regret using the fast travel quite as much as I did earlier on. The idea of venturing into the unknown and feeling vulnerable in relation to the world is, by far, the best bit about the game.
That said I don't think I'll be able to keep it up. Eventually I have to finish playing it (or at least put it aside) so it's good that the fast travel is there.
I get the feeling, avoiding fast travel. But I started fast-travelling as soon as I reached the last tower and unlocked the full map. It was fun exploring the world in a realistic way, but now, when the desire to do something in a different part of the world could only be snuffed by the incredible distance it would take to get there through terrain I've already been through, I don't bother...
Has anyone here successfully found all 120 shrines without using the sheikah sensor (or some kind of guide)? I'm proud to say I managed to find 117, but a week or so ago I finally caved in and found 2 more with the sensor. One I feel kinda silly missing, but another was so well hidden that I wasn't surprised to have missed it. It's the one in Ulria Grotto, in case anyone is curious.
@Nicolaisonopens spoiler tagdoesn't even recognize that place Haha
Well, as a relatively new BotW player I think I'm at about 60 shrines done. And yes, I utilize fast travelling a lot, although if where I'm going is not too TOO far I might just walk over there for the sake of it.
I don't think avoiding fast travelling makes anyone better at the game or something, so... why not?
@Nicolaison i used the sensor, and for a lot of things (like monsters and materials too for example). And yeah, i used fast travel too. As you said: too much distance in certain particular moments...
...there a few locations where you'll come across a single flower on its own. And when you get close to it, it disappears to another nearby spot, leaving a brief cloud of Korok seed sparkle.
Yeah, I think most people already knew about that. I was hoping it was something I'd missed.
Anyway, I went about 150hours without noticing that some korok seeds are hidden in holes in trees. I only noticed because a crow rested in one hole and I could see a pot or something behind it. D'oh!

You're not the only one. I bet I also went 150 hours before noticing those as well and the circle rock ones in the water too.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
About the castle and the endboss I went to the castle only for exploring, but faced the endboss anyway (without preparation. Only a few dishes, not very strong weapons. But the Master sword and quite some hearts). Wow, this version of Ganon looks evil heh! But I beat him on my first try. He wasn't that hard. Stasis that sucker and hit it with the Master sword. Beast Ganon was even easier, a total pushover. To be honest, the beast Ganon fight was a bit dissapointing. Now to do it over again, since I just now have all the memory's. Ah well, I can beat him a second time. After that, doing all the stuff that still has to be done!
I lit the blue flame outside the Akkala Ancient Lab and also many of the surrounding area lamps. However, the one lamp located near the stationary Guardian, just slightly down the hill from the Lab, won't stay lit. As far as I know, it's the only lamp in the game that won't stay lit, at least for me. What am I doing wrong? I posted to Miiverse in hopes of finding an answer.
I don't know why but they should let you reenter the Gane after defeating Ganon with the reconstructed world. Like basically the world with everything the way it was before Gannon. So I can just go and 100 percent everything. Not the biggest deal but would have been cool.

Thanks in advance.
You don't need to light all the lamps. They are only there to help you light the Akkala Lab lamp
