jump

The dlc is better than what I was expecting but mainly as my original impression of what they said sounded like basic rubbish.

The DLC seems more like stuff they wanted to have in the main game, but didn't have time to finish.

@NEStalgia Don't think Pokeballs will do you much good They are Hylian Retrievers, not Poochyena. If you circle around them, close to them, that will help - they get that pink mist around their heads that horses get when they start liking you. You can try feeding them (use your cheapest meat - I never found any difference between bird meat and gourmet meat for this), just hold the meat and drop it near the dog. Once it likes you enough it will walk away from you, just follow it.

Stars that fall will disappear in the morning, at 5.00am sharp. I once ran halfway across Hyrule (stupid me didn't even look at the darn map and warp to the nearest shrine), getting ambushed by Guardians on the way, only to have it disappear right in front of me. And if it falls onto a mountain or high ground, somewhere it would normally fall off, it will do exactly that when you get near enough. I lost one in a lava pool once.

That's because you can always add more to an open world game, and in Breath's case probably should have.

It's going to feel lame when Majora's Mask inevitably is just a skin in-game. It would be cool if it could do some special attack or something, but that's not going to happen.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

DizziParadise

@Tsurii Cos it is so much fun. Bad day at work? Go on a Hinox hunt. Eagle bow and a bunch of bomb arrows. Need a new bow/sword/spear? Blow up some Hinoxes and fill your boots.

@meleebrawler If you go by the manga Majora was a an "evil" creature (he was just super powerful and had magic armor) that was killed by dancing to death. Then the mask was carved from his armor (were they scales? I never really got that part). Hence why Majora's mask thinks it is MJJ. If you go by the game the mask was always used for evil rituals and either way it would rightfully have a grudge against the world.

No matter. Either way tis creepy. Jury is out on the sales man. The whole thing with the kids..and talking about sales men still makes me wonder about him.

@DizziParadise That sounds....really stupid actually. Stars seem like one of those awful mechanics only Nintendo could come up with that would be virtually impossible to even know they really exist or how to get them without a guide or online resource. Every classic Nintendo game has at least one such mechanic.

So for the dog to work that implies you need to do so only at night, only after a star falls, and only NEAR where the star fell, so you'd have to have happened by chance to see the star fall and know about where to know which stable to even feed the dog?

@NEStalgia Make friends with the dogs in villages and at stables. They might help you in your quest for star fragments

The dogs in my game just give me pink puffs of love. Nothing more. I've fed them and tried to hug them, all to no avail

zitpig

DizziParadise

@NEStalgia It is really stupid. Especially when you are just feet away from the dratted thing and poof, it disappears. But you've got the wrong end of the stick there. Dogs don't help you find the ones that fall. Not saying any more. And I'm pretty sure all the stables and some of the villages (Tarrey Town for sure) have dogs.

DizziParadise

NEStalgia

@DizziParadise Hmm, MAYBE I'm getting your drift a little. I've seen the in game hints about befriending dogs, and I'd stand there and squat near them and they'd have the pink heart puff up to twice and that was that, and sometimes they wandered and led me a few feet away like to a pond in the Oasis that had a treasure chest in it. And I figured they just help you find treasure chests if they're nearby. At the stables they've just followed me. But I didn't think of giving them meat. I'll have to play with that.

NEStalgia

DizziParadise

@NEStalgia I haven't done enough testing on this to be sure, but I think the treasure chest the dog leads you to isn't there until it leads you to it. If that makes sense. At least, the ones I have been led to were not already there. And not all the treasure chests contain the same item, I think.

Ryu_Niiyama

@DizziParadise HA! That happened to me too. I reloaded an auto save like ten times because it kept raining (I only had three hours to get there and i was already at the nearest shrine as i only have 60) and I kept running into guardians and stall creatures. I don't mind that normally but when you are trying to hoof it to a star? GET OUTTA MY WAY!

@Ryu_Niiyama Reloading an auto save was not something I, at the time, thought of. Next time...

And why does it always rain right when you need to scale that mountain/use that bomb arrow?

Is there some kind of special requirement to get a Stalnox to come alive? I keep stumbling across their bones but they remain inactive. I've only had one rise up so far (that was near the start of playing, many hours ago; he caught me by surprise and kicked my butt). I thought maybe they only animate at night but that doesn't seem to be the case (I've been sat with one for a couple of days/nights now and he's not playing ball).

Also, are they part of Kilton's 40-Hinox quest?

Regarding future DLC, I hope they fill out the world a little more. BotW is amazing but there are too few epic set-pieces or locations. Villages aside, most buildings have been reduced to wooden stumps, which is disappointing. Whether DLC or the next Zelda installment, I'd like to see a more populated Hyrule (or at least abandoned buildings that actually look like buildings).

Not interested in the DLC, and I already beat the game, so I fail to see the point of getting it now. I'm surprised they're even charging for this. If I didn't know, I would've thought it was just a small software patch.

Negitive much.

The dlc that really matters is the winter one with the new dungeon and all new story.

@Monkey_Balls If you go away and come back (at night) they will be awake. They won't wake up if you're watching. And as far as I know they are not part of Kilton's quest, but I could be wrong about that.

I can see the issue regarding the DLC, but hey, it has a bit more then what was announced, and whatever keeps mii playing I suppose, just glad to be able to do something extra in this even if it's slight.

As said on the article "I wouldn't mind switching to hard mode.....during my current play through, 200 hours of gameplay and still don't have a 100 completion rate so I wanna keep playing, but with max hearts and really good armors, can't say much is as hazardous as it could of been."

If that's not the case, too bad you can't have extra save files as I still wanna keep playing my current one.

@DarthNocturnal @DizziParadise Ah, thanks. So they're either sneaky or scenery? Gotcha. I hope they're not part of Kilton's quest because determining which ones are active could be a chore. Thanks; this one I've been sat with... I'll walk away and come back later... My time to surprise him!

If he's not merely scenery... because then I'd look daft sneaking up on a bunch of bones.

I believe you can. Just create a second user account on the system and you'll have double the save files for every game (which normally doesn't matter but for single save file games like Zelda, it matters greatly)
