Phew. Finally got the Zora Leggings after trying to complete nearly every side quest in the Domain. The correct side quest was actually alot simpler than most of the other ones. You could say is was over in a snap.
I've also have had much success in the neighbourhood construction department. That was probably the funniest, sweetest, most drawn out side quest ever. There's quite a sense of accomplishment in piecing the whole town together.
I'm probably going to do a few more shrines, then head off to finish the final, flappiest of the four fiends. I think I've over 75 shrines now, and they've definitely been one of my favourite parts of the game, although I wish more of them could match the most sophisticated and complex ones. I really like the ones that feel like mini-dungeons rather than a single puzzle in a big room. The chests go some way to spicing things up, but often I'll walk through the entrance hoping for a real meaty bit of puzzling, and be greeted with either a test of strength, a 'blessing', or single straightforward task that's over in a fraction of the time it took to reach the shrine. The best shrines have been some of the finest puzzling I've ever seen in a Zelda game though, and I've been hugely impressed by all the divine beasts so far. I much prefer this setup to the dungeons of old, which I was beginning to find a bit bleak, drawn out, and hackneyed. I'm hoping the final shines will live up to the best ones so far.
Also, has everyone else realised that shrines in which you've cleared all the chests are marked with a little chest symbol? It's a nice touch, as often getting the chests are where most of the shrine's brainwork lies.
For the picture? I mean I guess it could be a little spoilery, but at least it's the exact same spot as the original picture. So no real giveaways as to where it is.
Also, I enjoy the calming music when certain creatures fly overhead
@Octane Kakariko in OoT was still technically Sheikah...just Impa was the last and I suppose Zelda by training. Impa was still head of the village. LttP predates the Sheikah mythos but I think they had something in mind with Sahasrahla because he descends from the seven wise men (sages) so I think it is ok if you assume that he descends from the Shadow Sage given the tie between the Shadow folk and kakariko. Since the wise men mentioned in LttP were retconned/established as the Seven sages in OoT as they sealed ganondorf in the sacred realm.
I'm really loving the expansion and greater physical diversity of the main races. I love that the Gerudo are no longer thieves and outcasts although the whining about finding a voe husband seems a little at odds with the independent warrior culture they have established. I get that they need to continue as a species but seeing the kids harp on about it was ...disturbing.
I haven't gotten too far into the story but I'm starting to wonder if Hylia thought this whole being mortal thing through. That perhaps a mortal might not WANT to be a god/godblood? However that is one thing that is pretty nifty about how Zelda is told. Japanese mythology isn't so much about fighting and overcoming fate so much as performing your fated role (unlike western mythology imo) so even if you don't want to be whatever your destined role is...you are going to have to do it eventually. The reality of that can be a bit grating however.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling with the controls on occasion. It's nothing major: when changing weapons/runes (especially the bow/arrows) or going into menus I'll fumble now and then. Thanks for all your replies (sorry for the delayed response; been saving a certain princess...). This game keeps getting better and better: I wasn't feeling the Zelda vibe too much at first but after unlocking more of the story I'm now definitely in Link's shoes and in Hyrule.
Does anyone know if the Forest Dweller's Sword respawns somewhere? Is it special? I've owned two, but I haven't found their spawn site yet..
@Octane If you speak to Damia (the "The Test of Wood" Korok near the Maag Halan shrine, North-East of Korok Forest) and pay him 20 rupees you'll receive all the Forest Dweller weapons (sword, bow and shield).
@Maxz I'm also enjoying the shrines the most, especially the shrine quests. Based on what you've said ("off to finish the final, flappiest of the four fiends"), it seems you're about to encounter a few side quests which might get your brain ticking. One in particular had me stumped for ages.
Can't believe after 60+ hours of playing I've finally found and used a "dungeon" key!
@Meowpheel So it's okay to sell rubies, topaz, sapphires, amber, etc? I've been holding that stuff all this time thinking I'll be needing it. Got quite a stash now.
Some of you may know of a certain place with a basement full of broken/inactive guardians.
And as anyone with half a brain can figure out, at least a few of those will obviously wake up.
I noticed they wouldn't wake up by proximity, and there being a chest right in the center, well, clearly they're supposed to wait for the right moment.
But not with me, nuh uh. I went and used stasis+ to figure out which ones were still alive and went killing them one by one like the cheap person I am.
Two of them were fully functional too, the first one I dealt with by using Urbosa.
Then I got ready to fight the second one.
I use Stasis+ first, to gain some time to chop off the legs, and just as it started to react again, I chop one and it starts to tip over as normal, and then...
It just kept going. Like, through the floor.
And that's the story of the shortest sword fight against a guardian ever.
I took a couple days break from this to do other things, so hows everyones progress? I gotta try to find and beat more shrines, yesterday I just scanned my amiibo and got the sages sword from my Ganondorf amiibo which will stay on my houses wall along side the Hylian shield and other goodies, I wanna try to make the other champions weapons to put on my walls that I need to make.
Also oh yeah the memory locations, I got all of em, and anything that's located in the castle is a nightmare, even if you are ready to go.
