Most Skyrim mods only exist because the programming is friendly to them and because Bethesda already created one of the largest and most well made gaming worlds for them to make use of. They simply wouldn't be there if the game weren't great in its own right.
Omfg honestly just been grinning playing this lmao my dream console is real! All I've wanted for years is a portal console that plays full games so to be blessed with the Nintendo switch, man it makes life interesting lol can't believe how good it looks and runs, I had a laptop with intergrated graphics intel 4000 i5 playing skyrim with 50 mods, but this plays better! Don't get me wrong it was intergrated graphics but what bethseda done is really go above and beyond. My god the joy cons feel so good with the rumble, shooting an arrow has never felt so satisfying, it's like you feel the vibration of the bow when you pull the bow string to draw and then let it go, it's just legit awesome to experience lol
Here we go again, saved by the dragon. Only this time while lying in my bed! Feels good so far.
I must admit I never got into the whole mod thing. I’ve heard people say that that’s what bethesda games are about before but I’ve never found them necessary, or even appealing. And I’ve played them on PC. For me Bethesda games are about free roam open world exploration in a atmospheric setting. Although I was a bit disappointed by Fallout 4 and it was a buggy mess at launch.
Switch: Dragon Quest Builders 2, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Valkyria Chronicles, Shin Megami Tensei
PC: Farming Simulator 22
I played it tonight, this version in portable mode is unbelievable! It looks incredible and run so smooth it really feels like playing the pc version imho. In docked mode it is less exciting, of course you can notice details are less sharp but also the framerate, while being very stable, is rather low. On the tv the action, all the movements, of characters, of the camera, feel noticeably heavier than on pc. But in portable mode it is more than perfect!
In portable mode it is better than I expected, in docked mode it is slightly worse. I bought this version for the portable mode anyway so I am satisfied. It is incredible to hold a game like this on your hands!
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
@DiscoGentleman Haha yea, apart from that he’s a great guy, but a bit of a PC elitist. The worst thing is I got him into PC gaming when I built him one about 6 years ago, now he spends a lot more on upgrades than me. So in a way, I created the monster...
@diwdiws Uhh it’s not, I have over 800 on the PC with many, many mods, but a vanilla game is still awesome.
@Soroush2023 Breath of the Wild is like Skyrim where they forgot to make all the story, quests, and dungeons with more puzzles, fewer enemy types, no magic, worse stealth, worse mountains, and a more dynamic physics system, in third person. It really is a very apparent take off on an Elder Scrolls game.
Just don't go into Skyrim expecting it to be like all other RPGs. It doesn't spend its time developing individual characters. However, if you'd like to spend some time with the game you will get a great sense of Skyrim's culture, politics, history, and environment. And it's a western game so the melee combat's not going to be great compared to ranged.
Breath of the wild is like a GTA in a fantasy setting without the violence against pedestrians, without car thievery, and without all the other things you could do to pretend the world you are in is not as shallow, empty and meaningless as it actually is, and with a lot fewer emphasis on stories and dialogues.
Elder Scrolls are extremely immersive games.
In Breath of the wild slopes become slippy when it rains and Link actually begin to climb when you want to climb a mountain.
In Skyrim this does not happen. But everything else is much better in Skyrim.
You also can decide (to some extent) what your goals are in Skyrim. You can purposely avoid even the main quest and the game still makes sense.
Breath of the wild feels rather pointless in comparison.
@Snaplocket Well you don't have to because it's already been out for six years.
Skyrim's 'extremely well done' fetch quests are all ordered under a neat little misc. tab so that the real quests can take precedence. In fact they developed a whole radiant quest system to randomly pick dungeons and enemy camps for the relevant items to appear if you want to keep playing the game after you've done the hundreds upon hundreds of hours of narrative quest content.
Keep getting a reoccurring bug where a random sound plays for a second over and over again, it only goes away by saving and then reloading, a tad annoying.
@Soroush2023 Skyrim controls horribly, has sloppy melee combat, and has a somewhat visually dull world that you can't really interact with in a number of ways, but it also has a ton of quests to complete, dungeons to explore, etc. It's a game absolutely filled with content, so, if you can get over the inherent jankiness of the gameplay, you'll probably like it.
Don't go in expecting the beauty or polish of BotW, though. You'll just set yourself up for disappoint. And, besides, they're technically different types of games (adventure vs RPG). As it's an RPG, Skyrim has a big emphasis on stats, leveling, skill progression, different types of character builds, etc.
