@stupidhookshot They haven't really announced any modes yet barring the standard multiplayer and the 8-player multiplayer and nothing on online or single player modes. They'll probably reveal that information through the website.

Frankly, I feel the whole "no Adventure Mode" cries are overblown since we haven't heard anything at all regarding other modes outside of multiplayer. Are we also going to assume Classic mode, Target Smash, Homerun Contest, and Stage Builder are not there also?

Thanks for the info. Not a huge gamer these days, but smash is like the perfect relax and play a few rounds game so i'd definitely buy if it offered more in online, but typical nintendo stuff (like not having an additional save on Pokemon.) It could also be huge esport wise as it is easy to watch , but yeah nintendo stuff lol

@stupidhookshot Those days are finally over. Pokemon games on Switch now offers multiple saves . Though there will always be new typical Nintendo things, like Voice Chat through the app.

I think the remaining Smash surprises will be saved for Directs and then a dedicated Smash Direct happening around November.

@Grumblevolcano The only reason I could see a dedicated Smash Direct is if they want to roll out all the modes. But with daily updates happening on SmashBros.com, I'm hoping they'll roll out remaining details there.

@link3710 Modes is my main thinking. For them to have the starting roster only be the Smash 64 lineup, I think there's going to be a significant single player in some form (at least something like Adventure or Subspace Emissary).

either that or you unlock one character every 10 matches

@Yosheel That would be an option but not the only one, playing 540+ matches to unlock everyone is a lot of grinding.

A subspace-like campaign mode is absolutely perfect for a game with as many characters as this. Just do what Brawl did, unlock via campaign playthrough or through matches, whichever comes first.

@link3710 nice. Always ridiculous that you have to decide between all your pokemon or doing a fun mono, nuzlelock, etc run

I love the Ganondorf and Zelda changes!!! I have nothing against Twilight Princess but I prefer this classic and iconic Zelda / Ganondorf look, we have a better presentation of the series now.

I wonder why Captain Falcon isn't on the cover art but Toon Link is? Why don't they show other series instead of showing Link twice? Megaman or Pacman also makes more sense to have on the box, I think. Like, Megaman has a huge fanbase and a switch exclusive game coming up.

I really hope there's a single-player story mode that combines the best of Adventure Mode of Melee and Subspace of Brawl. Adventure Mode had you go through levels, each one focused on a specific franchise like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, etc, then ended on Smash like Battlefield and Final Destination. In-between each level will have in-engine cutscenes of some sort, which is the Subspace element of it.

There are 27+ franchises represented in Smash, so having 27+ levels (and bosses) just like in Kid Icarus: Uprising (which had 25 levels) would be fantastic. Then it'll end with a final boss like Tabuu.

Now what I want is a very long shot and is my best case scenario. I just need fun content, that's it.
