@MysticGengar - ROB just feels bad this game, surprised I haven't had such a stark experience like this in Smash, so my old main is gone.
However, Discovered that I am amazing with Cloud (which actually feels dirty, since I hate FF7 for ruining my favorite RPG franchise). Played some dominant games with him after blowing through Classic with much ease.
@ReaderRagfish - He feels a bit more floaty this time around with more noticeable lag on his forward tilts in air and on the ground. He just feels like a helpless target for me.
And unless Mewtwo I never had the DLC of 4, so trying out everyone I never got to play before. Bayonetta's smashes are insane.
@MysticGengar Marth for WoL and spirit board, Dark Pit for online. WoL's awkward distribution of characters meant I spent most of it as Marth and have improved with him such that he's now a main. But with online being extremely laggy, having a precision character like Marth didn't work well so I used one of my Smash 4 mains as that game had pretty bad lag too.
@AlternateButtons - I think they hit a sweet spot with Pichu. He has a very competent kit outside electric which damages him. It actually encourages to stay away from spamming skills and start thinking outside it. I like that. In Melee he was just, "Choose Pichu for Loss."
Marth at the moment for me, mainly as i’ve really got the hang of him, more in the absence of any better/viable options (that suit my nooby playstyle) in WoL so far - looking forward to trying more of the FE’s, Cloud, Mewtwo, Ryu & Bowser though so very much open to change.
Definitely feel like i’ve got the hang of it a lot more now - still plenty of improvement to come but i’m bashing through WoL on normal at quite a steady pace.
Did finally hit my first ‘wtf?’ fight last night - was even more infuriating as the actual main enemy (luigi) was super easy, just the assist trophy (infuriating animal crossing bus) was/is/seems so so so cheap and kept spawning right in front of me, has a HUGE catchment zone, and it was unclear exactly what i needed to do (besides button mash) to escape. Haven’t seen anyone else struggle with it though so maybe there’s a trick?
Oh man I need to unlock some more characters. There's nothing more frustrating than going up against a fighter u desperately want and then losing and not seeing him again forever. Had it with Krool already, need to focus on adventure mode I think.
@HobbitGamer Ha, I wish I had alternates like Lucario - I seem to only be coming across champions like the Wii Fit Trainer so far!
Glad it’s not just me with the stupid bus thing - I’m not really one for frustration, pad throwing or tantrums but holy heck, if the window had been open the switch may have gone on a little adventure! First fight that’s really caused me problems, sure it won’t be the last!
@Fowlersrs - If you go to "Games & More" there is a mode where you can unlock the fighters that you failed to beat the first time around. It's a mode in the bottom corner that comes and goes, had to spam it to finally unlock Dark Pit.
I need help, or confirmation the thing is gone. Anyone found the My Music option for the overall menus? I found it for stages, and making battle playlists, but not the menu proper akin to the feature in 4

So I picked up one of the wireless gamecube controllers. It has been years since I used one, but once I got used to it, I found myself on normal mode doing exceptionally well with WoL battles. I had forgotten how easy it is to perform the moves with the GC controller.
I'm going to have to be that guy and say my main is Random. There are so many characters I enjoy playing as, it would be faster to list the ones I dislike playing as instead. That said, there is one who stands out to me...
Richter would be my main if I was forced to pick a single character. I love every one of his projectiles, all of which can make Richter hard to even reach in certain match ups. Cloud showed how good a sliding down tilt can be, and Richter is only better by having a second attack. If I ever have some trouble getting a kill move to land, I find myself being able rely on his forward throw which can kill at decent percents. The only thing I can complain about Richter is his admittedly poor recovery range. And unlike a certain Belmont, Richter doesn't look like Conan the Barbarian.
I started playing earlier today, Mario is my guy. I'm almost a total beginner. I played a little of the original N64 game, but that's all. Naturally I'm struggling but still having fun with it. Mario's uppercut is a fantastic move.
The game looks absolutely gorgeous. Better than I expected, really.
