I am shocked this didn't line up with the 10th anniversary--it is Version 10.0 after all! But I will take it! I wonder if we will only be getting Urchin Underpass....?

@CaleBoi25 @Xenoblade-Fan @Dev-N A bunch of my friends are encouraging me to return to the game, and my dad is encouraging me to get back into competitive, and I think I’m willing to try, but I’m also not too sure. It’s a bit scary, especially staring down the grind back to S (from A- this time 😭) and finding my place again. What do y’all think? (my gut says that I should at least try)

@AccessibleDaydream Contrary to the previous replies, I think you should not burn out. If you don’t want to do it simply don’t. It’s a video game that’s meant to be fun. That being said I will certainly play with renewed vigour after this update

A Splatoon spin-off was not on my bingo card, though I am a bit surprised they haven’t done a spin-off already. Pretty cool and it’s interesting that it’s going to seemingly be single-player only compared to how the main games focused a lot on multiplayer, and how the spin-off is going to be more story focused. It’s nice to hear that Deep Cut will be getting the spotlight this time! Though, it’s a bit of a bummer to hear that it’ll be a Switch 2 exclusive…

And I saw Urchin Underpass is making a comeback in 3 after being a no-show in the second? I’m so angry I don’t have my Switch right now haha because I loved that map in the first game.

@CaleBoi25 how many people can be in a GameChat session at once? I would have to do some moving around of my console and the dock, et cetera, but it could work I’m sure.

@Xenoblade-Fan I'll just try it a bit, without committing to anything yet. It'll be a sort of fresh start, I think. Maybe I'll eventually get back into competitive, maybe not.

  We got a lethal bomb, finally! ...And an infinite range special because that what we needed (not).
• Painbrush BRN-Z: Splash Wall & Trizooka
  Zooka yes, Wall no.

  Acceptable, but I like Cooler more even if the output is abysmal.

  Mobility is a plus, and Zooka is Zooka.

  Tent has good kits, but this is not one of them.

  I don't like shooters but this is certainly a good one!

  I love this kit but not on this weapon.

  Weird combo that no one will use. Not beginner friendly and not good for comp.

  Eh, more Cooler weapons is always good.

  A literal God kit... for a different weapon.

  Very nice, good synergy!

  Still undercover, and still not Burst/Cooler, so I don't care.

  9/10, Bubble isn't as mobile as I'd like on Dualies, but Fizzy has synergy.
• Planetz Big Swig Roller: Torpedo & Triple Splashdown

  More Jet options is great!

@Dev-N I haven't had problems with battery life thus far, though I rarely play longer than an hour and a half or so.
@AccessibleDaydream 4 can share video, but up to 12 can be on audio calls.

My dream Big Swig kits would be Autobomb and Crab Tank, or Burst bomb and Zipcaster. And we got... neither! 🥲

@CaleBoi25 I actually think that the big swing will see some use. It just needed torp and triple splash I think is just okay

I might try to pick up the rapid though, I play s blast because it’s fun, and edit for cooler. This may be a nice convergence of worlds.

I do have to say, I have 4 mains and none of them got third kits

I do have some qualms with clams on Urchin though, doesn’t it feel like the basket is in a weird place a little too deep in spawn?

I wonder if the influx of players due to the update and Switch 2 will finally break the Big Man win streak.

Has anyone started playing again after a big lapse? I had a go to see what the update was like but just ended up not having a good time due to hardcore players killing everyone at the spawn point over and over. This game caters only for the hardcore community. Sad, but I'm not gonna invest hundreds of hours gittin gud at a game like this when they could be spent elsewhere. Sorry splatoon, it was fun while it was fun, then you became a walled garden for sweats.

@Grumblevolcano I doubt it, Big Man was most people’s favourites at the beginning snd the increase might not even be that large. That being said, his reign of terror must be ended!
