Topic: Splatoon 3

A bit late here, but here’s what I have to say for the 10th anniversary:

Almost a week late, but happy 10 years to Splatoon. I mostly haven’t been there for the first or second games, but it was in Splatoon 3 where I started getting into the franchise, recently last year finding my love for Pearl and eventually Off the Hook. How a game started out on a horribly selling console but grew big on its successor is actually pretty surprising. Here’s to more Splatoon and maybe some spin-offs pretty soon too!

Is it just me or does it bother anyone else how Pearl and Marina’s models were reused from Splatoon 2 instead of giving them new models like everyone else? This is noticeable because they still have eyemask textures instead of 3D eyemasks, not to mention their hands look different compared to everyone else. I mean, even the Squid Sisters got new models yet they couldn’t do it for Off the Hook.

@MrCarlos46 kinda? I mean, it bugs me that they arent as good as the others. But my personal gripe is that Callie got a new hairstyle for RotM, and then just… ditched it for everywhere else.

@CaleBoi25 She should’ve just kept the ROTM hairstyle. Fits her better now. Next game (or if she appears in Mario Kart World DLC) better make it permanent across all her outfits.

I have a hard time believing we won't get some kind of content for the 10 year anniversary. I would like a port of splatoon 1 single player. Granted, that's probably wishful thinking.

@WoomyNNYes I’d imagine if they even do a Splatoon 3 Switch 2 patch better resolution and textures, maybe patch Pearl and Marina’s models to new ones with the Splatoon 3 style of models (if they want to do it now, otherwise they’ll do it next game), and add mouse mode features, and if they’re making it paid, at least add some sort of DLC.

For the Pearl and Marina model thing, seems unlikely to happen at this point in time, but maybe they’ll actually get new models next game.

@MrCarlos46 I'm definitely going to slap Splatoon 3 into switch 2 late tonight or when I wake up to see how it looks.

Slapped splatoon 3 cart into switch 2 without updating the game. In handheld mode, is this 120fps? I could be wrong. I'm new to higher frame rate stuff. It seems like it has a differnt motion look to it. I didn't do a transfer and save data, so the game booted up to tutorial and I played through it.

Whether people will abuse that or use it to their advantage is unknown…

Is anyone having problems with Splatoon 3 online on Switch 2? I didn't used to have these problems on Switch 1 but now I can't splat people with certain weapons it's like the hitboxes are way off and now I hear you can squid roll anywhere. Nintendo needs to fix this soon before the game becomes completely broken

Hello everyone! I might have to cancel quitting the series, because a Nintendo Today video just announced a Splatoon spinoff, the return of Urchin Underpass in S3, aaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddd

I'm happy to see more content coming to Splatoon 3... but I'm not sure if I'll come to it too soon since I've got a trip coming up this weekend.

I am shocked this didn't line up with the 10th anniversary--it is Version 10.0 after all! But I will take it! I wonder if we will only be getting Urchin Underpass....?

@CaleBoi25 @Xenoblade-Fan @Dev-N A bunch of my friends are encouraging me to return to the game, and my dad is encouraging me to get back into competitive, and I think I’m willing to try, but I’m also not too sure. It’s a bit scary, especially staring down the grind back to S (from A- this time 😭) and finding my place again. What do y’all think? (my gut says that I should at least try)
