I am going to miss this Fest due to stupid internet being down. We had quite the storm go through, so our house is (mostly) OK, and my family is safe, but... That means no Super Sea Snails...! Not the worst that coulda happened I suppose.
Just signed off after a great two hours or so followed by 12 — yes, 12 — losses in a row. You ever have one of those stretches where every match is a beatdown from the beginning? It seemed we were pinned deep in our territory every one of those matches.
@Burning_Spear Man, I feel you there. A 12 game losing streak sounds brutal. Never quite had 12 in a row, but I've definitely gotten close. My usual plan when I get on a losing streak is I'll generally switch weapons after like 4 or 5 weapons. Doesn't necessarily help me win, but does make me feel better lol. Anyway, while losses can be rough, at least you didn't threaten a terrorist attacks over it, unlike some people.
@Bigmanfan Forgot about that sore loser, LOL. Yes, I switched weapons too. And I also backed out of the lobby for a few minutes — not blaming other people, but thought maybe I was caught in a bad team/weapon mix. But all is good: I switched to Balatro and beat one of the three remaining decks in the game.
@Burning_Spear Nice. Playing another game is always a good way to lift spirits after a losing streak. Well, wish you the best of luck if you're playing in the splatfest today!
Pasta is barely ahead of Rice at halftime with 33.72% to Rice's 33.45% and Bread's 32.83%.
Surprised at how close it is. I had a great Friday night on Team Bread, but got stomped by Team Rice today. Now I hope to play some more Tricolor than usual. I've done a little research and found that ever since it became a scoring category, the team that wins Tricolor Battle almost always wins Splatfest with only three exceptions (Spicy, Sunday and Theme Park).
It's nice that most Tricolor matches have been all 3 teams (only a few mirror matches so far) and Eeltail Alley is a fun map for the mode. I haven't been doing too well in terms of performance, Pasta's been winning most matches I've played.
@ok1 Eeltail was in the Money vs. Fame vs. Love Splatfest almost exactly a year ago. I don't remember there being Gushers but I didn't play any Tricolor in that one.
In Tricolor, I've had some mirror matches on Team Bread. I've won a couple of real matches, but Team Rice still seems so strong like white ink teams usually are, so I don't know if I'll play more. It doesn't help that I've done some more research and discovered that the team that's in last place at halftime almost always loses. Teams Handshake and Oban-yaki last November were the two exceptions, but those were regional Splatfests.
@Grumblevolcano The addition of gushers is cool, sadly didn't have time to play but good to know it was interesting! Excited to play it when they rerun the map.
Once again, I forgot to scrub my spaltfest Tshirt. I'm so tired of forgetting. It's not a big deal, but I think they really just need to give us the chunks from the shirt.
Also... for crying out loud. I haven't been able to log into the site all weekend. I don't know if it was a Firefox thing or what. I logged in tonight with Chrome. Although, I was failing to login with Chrome too over this weekend.
Rice wins the Splatfest.

Frye: "Rice is nice!"
Shiver: "What a crumby outcome."
Big Man: "Ay... (Like my beloved penne, our dreams of victory are cut short...)"
Frye: "Team Rice was unstoppable! I told you all it was the best prefight food."
Shiver: "I thought Team Bread's buttery-smooth execution would make them a sure thing."
Big Man: "Ay. (While Team Pasta might have been stretched too thin with what we had.)"
Frye: "Good job, you two. All these terrible food jokes are making me hungry."
Shiver: "You're telling me. I could go for something filling. An all-rice meal, in honor of the results. Who's up for jambalaya or kimchi?"
Big Man: "Ay! (Put me down for congee and moffles!)"
Frye: "I'll stick to the classics, like curry rice, doria, and good ol' risotto."
Big Man: "Ay? (How many stomachs do you have in there?)"
Frye: "Oh, don't worry about me. I could eat your cooking all day, Big Man!"
Big Man: "Ay... Ay?! (Aw, that's nice of you to say... Wait, am I the one preparing all of this?!)"
@Croctopus Maybe it's a coincidence, is Croctopus your switch/splatoon 3 username? Did I just play turf war with you in Undertow Spillway? My username in splatoon is SpaceDandy. This Croctopus I played with was wearing a black jacket w/ white sneakers in game, and their switch user icon was blue inkling boy with 2.400 hours logged in Splatoon 3. If it was you, small world.😆 If not, no biggy.😁
@WoomyNNYes No, I'm an Octoling boy with a ponytail and my Splatfest fit for this one was the White Headband and Bit 'n' Bridle Loafers.
I've sometimes played against another Croctopus who is an Inkling boy wearing shades and using a Sploosh-o-Matic. I've also found myself randomly playing with notable Splatverse artists in Turf War or Salmon Run.
Anyone else experiencing that the lobby music has solely been the end music (Maritime Memory/Into the Light/Daybreaker Anthem) after the Splatfest finished even after the results came in?
I know it happens for the 2 hours between Splatfest finished and results coming in but with previous Splatfests it always changed to other lobby music after the results came in.
