Folks, this Saturday, the 21st, could be the biggest day for us professional Splatoon copium users....
King's Cup will be having its finals that day, and it is possible that we will get 3rd kits announced then!!!

Hey all! I've (somehow) never played Splatoon before and am pretty interested and tempted, is it worth getting 3 given how late in the game cycle it is? Thanks!

@drumnbayes Anyone here will be... biased, to say the least, but I would highly recommend the series! S3 is a fantastic game, even without regular content drops, so while I would say you should go for it, I suggest you decide for yourself if you are playing for the game or for the dopamine hit when new content releases lol! The story/world of the series is interesting, and the gameplay is both simple yet complex, so it is certainly worth the money. Plus, it is easy to get used copies nowadays for ~$30.

@drumnbayes I would say yes! although as @CaleBoi25 said, it's cheap, the community is still pretty active and still has seasonal splatfest and other modes. It's an amazing series, and with S4 being far away from now its a nice time to jump in.

@CaleBoi25 Considering the March 2016 Direct revealed Sheldon's Picks and the September 2018 Direct revealed the Kensa Collection, there's a chance that 3rd kits is an early 2025 Switch 1 Direct announcement. Dependent on when Switch 2 releases, there may be a kind of "Switch 2 may be soon but there's still plenty of Switch 1 stuff to look forward to" type thing.

@Grumblevolcano That is also an option! I would be happy with either of those. Some people are also discussing a possible rerelease "Splatoon 3: Splatinum Edition" or something like that with all data on the cart, alongside an announcement of content extention. @Dev1024 I had a listen to the Deep Cut high school song and it was a lot like the bonus track of Octotune. What I mean is, it was clearly a recording made during some sort of event, and while we can't know what is being said or what is happening, we can get a very good idea. I love it!

Apparently a bunch of people think third kits are gonna be announced this weekend at the Kings Cup Tournament hosted by Nintendo. Personally I’m doubtful

@SplatRay001 I think it is fairly evenly split. The professional copium addicts like me are putting all our eggs and then some in this basket, but I totally understand why a lot of folks have doubts.
