FUN'S OVER.☹😢 (for my region)

Veteran players are mostly gone. Every team now has 2-3 know-nothing players. They don't slay anything or manage the map. Nobody's painting the ground. We're struggling & failing quotas. Demoted myself to evp 200 and 100, and it's the same. The Big Run fun with these grizzco weapons is over.

800 million eggs was reached and an extra 1 gold scale, 3 silver scales and 30 bronze scales were added to the reward. As you may have expected, a new target was set (900 million eggs).

So, in the case of farming eggs, is it more optimal to stay in low EVP, like, EVP 100-200?

I got brave enough to play in the Grand Run today. It's ridiculously brutal as usual, but I did better than I expected. I got bronze as of this post... for somebody who normally has a difficult time with Salmon Run, that got me feeling pretty good. I'm hoping to at least get silver if I play in the Grand Run next time.

As someone who never got past bronze in Big Runs, I was shocked when my very first match got me to 148--two away from gold!!

900 million eggs was reached so rewards are 9 gold scales, 27 silver scales, 270 bronze scales. But there isn't another specific target next, instead "If my vaults are completely bursting with Golden Eggs by the end, you'll get a tasty bonus in fish scales".

So I just hit a new high score of...204 eggs! And yes, this was on freelance.

Around 185. The strange thing was that this was almost the absolute max I could get most of the time. There were no Boss Salmonids spawning and no gold eggs to collect, even though there was at least 10 seconds left... Oh well.

So... the counter just can't go any higher now??? It's really funny to me how nintendo keeps forgetting just how many people play splatoon. Anyways, got gold on my second attempt, but will keep playing for... some reason. Only five days till the finall fest starts!!!

@Budda No bosses spawn after the countdown reaches 28 seconds remaining, I recently learned. Random number but that's how it works!

@BingleyBong_TEAMPAST I think Nintendo knew we'd probably exceed one billion eggs, and purposely the event so the counter so it would hit the max 999,999,999. Nintendo captures & monitors in-game data in Splatoon, which is how they decide which weapons to tweak with buffs and nerfs, and they see how many eggs people are getting in general, even for each big run. And with the extra egg cannons for this big run & playtesting, they surely had a estimated range of how many eggs we'd get, and I bet they knew hitting one billion was likely. So now, hitting 999,999,999 & stopping adds mystery and suspense to the final day of the event. I think Nintendo knows what they're doing.😉

So, grizz kept giving us this pattern of tiny reward increments with each 100,000 eggs we went over the goal, and now the counter goal has broken/capped/locked at all 9s for the final day, and with this being a big run finale, does anyone think our reward might skew toward having something a little surprising? Like a bigger percentage reward increment, or possibly something unrevealed? ...Or will grizz be stingy, and stick to the last scale-reward-count he gave us, like the gruff employer he is?🤔

Hey guys, new person here!! Just wanted to say my golden egg counts. I got 160 eggs and have low EVP. As someone who had a hard time passing bronze I thought it was pretty good! So excited for Grand Fest!!

Just noticed that when you survive all 3 waves, the victory theme is sung by Deep Cut. Neat detail.

P.S. I'm gonna predict the final total of golden eggs will be around 1.6bn.

This Big Run might be the most fun I've ever had gaming in my life. Seriously! After each chaotic, super intense wave I would be left saying "omg this is so f'ing great!" and then if you got a Triumvirate after all that, it's almost too much.. It is astounding how vastly superior Splatoon 3 Salmon Run is to Splatoon 2 Salmon Run.

Got a high score of 156 golden eggs... I got gold!!! That felt awesome. That gold trophy's going straight to my locker when Grizzco sends it to me. Also made it to eggecutive VP... guess I've gotten better at Salmon Run now.

@Croctopus Thanks, same to you! I contributed towards the 900M goal when I first played yesterday. Wasn't sure if I'd do that good in the Grand Run to begin with, but I'm glad I decided to jump in.

@Potato-man Oh hey welcome back! Nice job on 160! I have a record of 148 at the moment...

I think I earned about 60-70 silver scales this big run. And I broke my personal best rank of VP 300 or or maybe it's VP 380, I just know I've fallen short of bronze stage badges in the past. I reached VP 570 this weekend. Although, since this was with all grizzco weapons with extra egg cannons, this isn't a very typical salmon run. I would have kept chasing for higher rank, but big run is ending.

This big run was a good fun. I'm looking forward to the results at 10pm or whenever they go live.
