Topic: Splatoon 3

Splatoon 2 Mario 35th Splatfest: 2017-2021 (around 4 years later)
Splatoon 3 Mario 40th Splatfest?: 2022-2026 (around 4 years later, again)

That actually reminds me, 2 days to Splatoon 3’s 3rd anniversary

If splatfests are ending, Nintendo likely has something else lined up. Since switch launched, Nintendo always has a game or two getting seasonal updates, like Splatoon, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing. I'm guessing something will get announced soon to fill that void. At the moment, I think there are a few possibilities; Mario Kart World might get a content update, or next week's Mario Anniversary direct will reveal something to hold our attention for a bit until something else comes along. And we're still waiting for a Splatoon Raiders launch window announcement. Although, it really isn't hard for Nintendo to add a few more spaltfests... Perhaps they could be themed for mario anniversary, Metroid prime 4, or Pokemon ZA.

I'd LOVE a Spaltoween with a shifty station stage🌈. I would get hyped for that.(granted, a shifty station stage is probably unlikely.

@WoomyNNYes I mean, even though Mario’s anniversary is next week, do we really know if the Direct is a general one with a spot for Mario stuff or if the Direct is just a Mario anniversary one without a general Direct until possibly early next year?

@MrCarlos46 We don't really know.😆 Nintendo isn't always predictable. But it is Mario's 40th anniversary, which is a big deal, and we have a Switch 2 console now. We, or I, are making a guess based on how big of a deal it was for the 35th anniversary (and previous 5 year milestones). For the 35th in 2020, Nintendo had a September 3 direct for mario's 35th anniversary, revealed Mario 3D All Stars for the Switch(released two weeks later), and there was the NSO Mario 35 game, and like, a mini gameboy that plays Super Mario Bros 1, and maybe couple other things I'm forgetting.

We'll see what happens.

@WoomyNNYes There was also Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, which I was honestly more excited about than 3D All-Stars. Mario Kart Live was a thing as well.

HAPPY 3 YEARS, SPLATOON 3!

This was the game that really got me into Splatoon, and I feel grateful for having played it

When all is said and done, this is probably my favourite game ever. It’s not perfect, but the gameplay variety, character and charm, music and lore keep me coming back all these years later. I can’t wait to see what they do with Raiders and Splatoon 4.

@Croctopus You know, does it seem kinda shocking Deep Cut never got their own Final Fest like the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook?

Nintendo Direct coming this Friday! (Or not, depending on timezones) We still have a shot at more Splatoon 3 updates! And, of course, Raiders info!

YES splatoon raiders sounds great! TBH i would like some info on splatoon 4, but thats probably not gonna happen

Not a single ounce of Splatoon stuff mentioned during the Direct, so it seems like they really are using September to wrap up any remaining events (except likely monthly challenges) for the game. As for Splatoon Raiders, it seems like there won’t be any info on the game until early next year in its own Direct

Wow. I didn't expect to see nothing Splatoon related! Ah well. It's been a good 3 years, and there's always the NA League to see if we get something...!

@CaleBoi25 At this point I just expect the Splatfest/Tricolor in private battles update before the end of the year (probably next month) and new Deep Cut and Mechanic amiibo in the future. The upcoming NA League is probably also the last one for Splatoon 3.

I guess it’s safe to say it, thanks for the inktacular 3 years of Splatoon 3. As the remaining events for the game come to a close this month, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for Splatoon Raiders and Splatoon 4.

Just remember, folks: 10.0.0 wasn't in a Direct either. So anything could happen! Like @croctopus said, let's wait for official word from The Big N before giving up!

@Croctopus If anything the game will probably have its own Direct rather than being added to the February Direct.
