Hammerhead for sure! Humpback is virtually identical to how it was originally in Splatoon 2 so I'm fine with it.
Yeah, but there's no jet squelcher standing on a ramp spamming tenta missles the entire game, so it's way better in 3.
I'm really hoping for undercover buffs. Hopefully, now that both kits are in the game and both kits are bad, the devs will realize how many buffs this weapon needs. I really like the fast gameplay of tacticooler meta, so hopefully they don't nerf it to much. I think it'd be cool for the devs to lean more into the confusion theme for splattercolor screen buffs. Hide the UI at the top of the screen, make you hallucinate special start up sound effects, jumble up your map, give you fake objective/last minute warnings. The special doesn't really need the buffs, but there's tons of cool options for when the devs want to.
@Croctopus you got a point, you got go left right up and down to make you a hard target for using inkjet. Also the aim is just slow as heck even in 2 the aim was more slower, oh yeah i got it at Amazon for Christmas my grandma told the official one was sold so she had to get it another way crazy right
@Croctopus sort of disagree with you. Ink jet is one of the strongest specials in the game right now, but still has counter play and is still punishable. It's in a spot where it's strong but doesn't feel unfair. And splattercolor screen is weak due to being situational and awful at retaking, but it's not that bad and certainly won't destroy any kits it's on (unless if it has awful synergy with the rest of the kit).
I guess you and I have very different view points because you play longer ranged weapons. I see how, for a long ranged weapon, both of these specials could be awful (ink jet is easy to reach and pressure, your teammates screens can block your sightlines). Interesting to see how differently we see the game based on what we play (would be curious to hear if anyone else thinks something completely different about these specials which hasn't already been mentioned).
I see a brand new banner in-game, yellowish? with pretzels and rolls. I'm suspecting splatoon twitter may have a QR code for it? Keep your eyes peeled. I don't have a twitter account, so I can't check.
Also, if you haven't checked already, Switch news has a new splatoon article (NA) with downloadable splatfest themed gear and a wintery banner. So click the button at the bottom of the article to get the gear & banner (if any of you are new to getting gear from a switch news article).
I've been plugging away trying to get one with ink saver sub.😁
@CaleBoi25 That new pastel banner you got is fresh! Haven't been playing as much recently because I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 with my brother - the hotwheels dlc and the rally expedition content (in case anyone is familiar).
@Budda Uhm, the team selection is "Who do you spend the HOLIDAYS with?" I think I am sitting this one out. Splatoween was really cool, but like I said, this is stupid. It should have taken place in mid-December.
@vio
It's close enough though. And they probably speculate that people get the game during holiday and make frostyfest a little later so nobody misses that event.
Plus... The answer to that question probably doesn't change anyway.
@vio While I would have liked it to take place in December, do you really expect anyone to play mid-holiday season? ...Other than Team Solo, I suppose!
Since splatoon 2, splatfests always skip December, and they have the holiday splatfest in mid january, like they are doing now. As much as i want a December splatfest, im always busy holiday shopping and doing stuff in the weeks leading up to Christmas, i usually don't have the time. I figured nintendo doesn't want to encroach on decemer holiday family time.
