I was absolutely terrified they'd stopped doing these (especially given how....yikes most of 3's maps are) so I'm over the moon that they're back!
Mahi Mahi being the first one getting changes also makes me both incredibly excited....and incredibly nervous. It's definitely not the absolutely worst map in the game (that dishonour goes to Mincemeat) but it's a far cry from the inventiveness it had in S1 so, while I'm not expecting a full reversion back to how it worked in the first game, something relatively close would make me so damn happy man 🥹

This is such great news! Now they just have to rework hammerhead bridge and pretty much every new splatoon 3 map (not you ship shape cargo and crableg capital).
Regarding map rotations I avoid: I avoid Humpback pumptrack. Quite ironic that I often ride an actual pumptrack in real life<3, but I loath the too-frequent stalemate/chokepoints and overal clusterphobic feel of the splatoon map. It's predictably usually-not-fun. Other people are allowed to like it. I'm not feeling it.
Is it just Friday the 13th-related unluckiness, or is the current SR rotation awful?
I am absolutely carrying! Don’t believe me? Here are the “scores” from my last round:
Me: 30 Eggs (5 assists), 2 revives, 925 power eggs, 3 splats.
Coworker 1: 14 Eggs (2 assists), 3 revives, 726 power eggs, 7 splats
Coworker 2: 10 Eggs (4 assists), 3 revives, 793 power eggs, 0 splats (OK the last part isn’t so bad)
Coworker 3: 24 Eggs (1 assist), 4 revives, 917 power eggs, 2 splats
Was copying all this a little much? Yes. But it just goes to show how unfortunate it is that that was my only clear in one hour.
Played 8- 8:30pm eastern. Barely cleared the first job in evp, then the next 3 shifts I lost my sh*t because no teammates were painting walls or taking out high priority salmoinds (drizzlers, shooting drizzler missles, stingers, flyfish, steelheads). It's REALLY frustrating when I select Leave the team, wait a minute+ before trying to start another shift, only to get re-paired with the same jackasses. "Leave" means (expletive) leave, Nintendo. Then I got a new team only to suffer the same problem, nobody's painting walls or the ground, so I disconnected. Who doesn't paint walls or the ground? At that point I had evp 10 & quit playing so I can keep evp rank.
It's honestly ridiculous what I have to do to leave an SR team since the Leave button doesn't actually insure I leave a team. I have to leave grizzco in-game, go into the city, lobby, and do something else for a bit, all all this time wasting, just to insure I get new teammates.

Was really hoping Splatoween would happen this year but purposefully kept my expectations low due to the lack of it last year so this is a fantastic surprise! Love the new Deep Cut outfits as well; Shiver and Frye look utterly GORGEOUS and going the sheet ghost route for Big Man is PERFECT.
The theme is also pretty cool. Yeah it's the most obvious one they could've gone with but it's still pretty fun (and I absolutely adore the question attached to it XD). Currently a toss-up between Zombie and Ghost but I'm leaning towards the latter right now (my 2023 GOTY is all about ghosts; _I feel like it'd be sacrilege to go with anything else XD).
So, how long do we have to wait, now, for nintendo to drop the news article with the halloween gear!??? There is NO reason it shouldn't be released ASAP. Halloween gear NEVER gets old in splatoon - it's still some of the best gear in Splatoon 2.
My 126 Ink Saver Sub ability chunks are ready (Because I probably won't like the main abilities they halloween gear comes with).
As far as team picking goes, I think a glowing ghost would be a cool friend, so I may pick ghost.
Super excited for this next Splatfest. I'm having a bit of trouble picking which team I wanna pick... but I'm leaning toward Zombie, since I find them to be the coolest of the three, lol. Oh, and Shiver's costume looks insanely awesome! Frye and Big Man look great too, but I especially love how Shiver is looking. <3

Been forcing myself to play undercover brella in x battles, and I've surprisingly been met with mostly wins. I've found a bunch of cool tricks and will share most of them despite no one asking or caring (I'm assuming that there aren't many undercover mains here). Feel free to ignore this.
-For the main weapon, I've found that it's really good at just following people to protect them and giving them some extra damage in whatever fights they take.
-One thing that's super useful is bumping the enemies with your brella to do more damage (trust me, every extra bit of damage is needed to make up for its awful kill time)
-Reefslider can be used right before landing a super jump, but will still have some start up, so make sure its a safe super jump!
-When you see an enemy super jumping, since you have no one shot, you should place mines where they land and try to bump them with your canopy while shooting.
-Reefslider is an amazing counter to ultra stamp. I make sure to try to always have it charged when there's an ultra stamp on the other team. It can consistently kill them with its invincibility, and is super satisfying to pull off.
-When retreating, if you can, place a mine to get your teamates to come and help. Also sometimes kills them which is funny.
-This one is really your choice, but I think you should wear as much run speed up (great for mobility), quick respawn (you're going to die a lot) and, most importantly, as much quick super jump as you can (You're going to seriously need those quick exits).
-This one applies to every weapon, but I feel especially this one. BE MINDFUL Of YOUR SURROUNDINGS!
Make sure you have exit routs painted, that you aren't jumping into an area where someone could be sharking, that you pick your fights well, that you protect and play the objective and that you know where your teammates are.
Sorry for such an unnecessary post, just wanted to share some cool things I found to make the undercover brella (almost) playable. Also TEAM GHOST FOR THE WIN!!!
@CaleBoi25 Amazing!!! I guess we can't team up in Salmon Run?🤣 The matching system sandbags us with newbs we can't can't possibly carry. It's so unfair. The hazard level was 152%, nothing crazy. I couldn't get close enough to take out the steelheads with the Nzap. Every time I went to shoot one of the steelheads, I was getting overwhelmed by something before I could land enough shots to finish them off. I don't know what the splatana and bamboozler people were doing - they have the better range with their weapons. Gee whiz!
Oh, I see you sent me a few more invites in-game after that awful first SR shift. I was typing here. and I left the game sitting idle. Sorry about that.

@WoomuNNyes TBH our coworkers didn’t seem too bad as I am currently trapped in Pro+2… Although, forgive me if I am wrong, at the end I thought I saw an egg on your characters back! My brother pointed it out, actually… His words were “WHY DIDNT HE PUT THE EGG IN?!?” haha! Ah, well, I wasn’t at my best anyways. Right after that I did manage to get a Cohozuna win, though! Anyway, sorry for the long post, but next time we will have to coordinate with some other Runners on the forum… and match splashtags
