Will Splatoween be announced this week?

@luckyseven Splatoon 2's Splatoween was announced via social media on a friday, October 9, 2020. If they like the end of the week, maybe it will be by this friday. I think the confident, cavalier thing to do is, hold my breath until they announce it. What could go wrong?😁

@Croctopus @WoomyNNYes Hoping it’s Friday or any day this week too. If they skip Splatoween this year it’ll be super disappointing since there was nothing in October last year. Does anyone remember how last year people were hoping for a Big Run since it was in the data but it never happened? That was fun… Also from the top of my head there’s been events every month this year
Jan: Taste fest
Feb: Chocolate fest
March: BR, Creatures fest (into beginning of April)
April: Creatures fest
May: Zelda fest
June: BR
July: Ice cream fest instead of Side Order, I remember feeling devastated when all they announced in the June Direct was the fest and challenges which I couldn’t even play
Aug: Priorities fest
Sep: Leader fest
Oct, Nov, Dec: ???

@luckyseven I think, last October, there was a new Pokemon release, but I dont' remember how that played out for the October Splatoon 3 event, or if there even was one. Maybe Big Run was October 2022?

@luckyseven @WoomyNNYes Splatoon 3's events for 2022 were:

• August (pre-launch) - Rock/Paper/Scissors Splatfest
• September - Deserted Island Splatfest
• October - Nothing
• November - Pokemon Starter Type Splatfest
• December - Big Run

The common theory was Big Run in October given the concept of the mode would've been a perfect fit for Halloween but it didn't happen.

But yes, while it does feel likely about Splatoween announced this week it's entirely possible that it doesn't happen or that Splatoon 3's support is extended beyond 2 years and we get Splatoween next year instead.

I finally landed a "Salmon Runner" title last night from the shellout machine.🌈

And, I was relieved to keep evp rank for yesterdays rotation. Got my second evp 200 badge, which was for Jammin Salmon Station.

@Wolfleaf The weapons are decent, but constantly pressing the button to swing a brush in salmon run gives me tendonitis.

I love Octobrush I’m SR, esp. since I play it in TC anyway. Ink brush is annoying though (low damage) and Pain brush is too. (ssssllllllooooowwwww…..)

I have… neither King’s badge! I am really need at Xtrawave, but at least I can make it through regular waves (when I actually get good crews)

edit: Regarding king salmonid badges, I only have the base badges. I got the 10x Cohozuna long ago, but surprisingly, I just recently go the 10x Horrorboros, which really surprised me. I thought I'd beaten Horrorboros 10x a while ago, but I guess this goes to illustrate just how bad my teammates have been since Horrorboros debuted, rarely getting proficient teammates, or enough teammates that knew to target Horrorboros' booyah bomb ball. I dare say, I think my teammates may have possibly improved lately as cooler fall weather has possibly been driving more people indoors, possibly boosting veteran SR player base, or it's been complete luck. But will that trend of better teammates extend to if we're teamed up? I guess we'll find out. I won't be shocked if we get sandbagged with newbs. 😅

I've been seeing speculation about the MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 6 trailer happening tomorrow (Japan spotlights ended October 5th and apparently past waves had the trailer a week after the Japan spotlights had ended). If that happens, I don't see them announcing Splatoween tomorrow.

@Grumblevolcano Actually I am excited for Wave 6.... but yeah, Splatoween gets trump on that one. It could be announced Friday though...?

@Fizza I feel like this means no splatoween. Weren't there recent datamines revealing splatoween bits?? Are we getting another empty october for splatoon 3 because nintendo doesn't want any other events near Mario Wonder's release?

@WoomyNNYes Strange thing is that special Splatfests similar to those held in 2 (Splatoween, Frosty Fest, etc.) were found almost immediately as Drizzle 2023 began through datamining so they definitely seem to be preparing for them. Could be a case like September where a Salmon Run event and Splatfest were held within a week of each other (though September is also potentially an exception to the rule given how it was the 1st Anniversary) but yeah: weird stuff indeed. Guess we'll know tomorrow though if one is happening or not (especially when it's FRIDAY THE 13TH).

I've been holding off on using my stash of Ink Saver Sub ability chunks in case they drop new gear for Spaltoween and I want to convert the main ability they have to Ink Saver Sub.

More specifically, I was finally getting around to change the main ability of my Enchanted Hat (the witch hat from Octoling Girl amiibo) to Ink Saver Sub, but didn't want to regret it a couple weeks later if new gear drops.

Is it just Friday the 13th-related unluckiness, or is the current SR rotation awful?

I am absolutely carrying! Don’t believe me? Here are the “scores” from my last round:
Me: 30 Eggs (5 assists), 2 revives, 925 power eggs, 3 splats.
Coworker 1: 14 Eggs (2 assists), 3 revives, 726 power eggs, 7 splats
Coworker 2: 10 Eggs (4 assists), 3 revives, 793 power eggs, 0 splats (OK the last part isn’t so bad)
Coworker 3: 24 Eggs (1 assist), 4 revives, 917 power eggs, 2 splats

Was copying all this a little much? Yes. But it just goes to show how unfortunate it is that that was my only clear in one hour.
