I am trying not to get my hopes up because last direct I was hoping for it to be their ‘final announcement ‘ and it kinda just ruined the smb wonder announcement for me

@_Lime I kind of wanted SO to be the opener for the last Direct but we got Pokemon lol

@luckyseven I feel it's likely. All there is left of the current season is 1 Splatfest (probably in late October), more challenges and Eggstra Work. So that leaves either Splatoon 3 not being in the Direct at all or Side Order being present.

Also I doubt Nintendo would want Foamstars (the Splatoon clone from Square Enix) to the steal the spotlight from Splatoon and that game is likely in the State of Play.

@WoomyNNYes I can understand the hatred towards me, as it’s very common when people look at my perfection they become mad with the bitterness/jealousy and then start acting out, but what did poor eel do?

@jump Oh, you saw that?😁😁😆 My fake rant about only wanting Splatoon Side Order for the direct, throwing you under the bus no reason. Just seemed funny at the time. I picked two endearing NL users. I knew you'd know I was just making stuff up. No actual malice intended.

Man, the DLC is so far away. Hopefully that means it's really expensive.

I wanted Order to win, but I'm a bit worried about ALL the levels being bleached white and all that complicated leveling up of abilities.

Man, I can't believe we have to wait until spring of 2024. But, I'll trust the wait is worth it.

The dlc looks fantastic. I LOVE the new baddie zombie fish thingy designs, I’m curious about Acht and the adding colour chips is an interesting idea.

I was expecting more metal robots, not post-future bio-jelly robot-looking enemies.

I have to admit, I'm not sure what to think, but I could probably still fall in love with it. It is Splatoon after all. March-May release, it is (spring).

Wow, Side Order looks amazing. I love that they're going down the customization and replayability route. Looks like they're adding a lot of Shooter RPG elements? And Dedf1sh being a part of the story is awesome.

"Expensive" is a good point. But if it's as big and replayable as I'm thinking, a bigger price will be ok with me. What do we think it'll cost? I personally would pay $40-50, but as DLC, I bet they won't charge more than $25 USD. Octo expansion was $19.99 USD. Wow, Octo seems so long ago, now.

Fanboying aside, holy f*** Side Order looks so cool. I have no idea what to make of it exactly yet but it's wildly different in the coolest way imaginable. The wait till Spring will be long but I definitely think it's going to be worth it!

@Budda So, are those two salmon neon signs in your locker from the Salmon Run store or from Hotlantis? I'm not clear where they're from.

I just thought expensive was a typo for expansive since they have already put the DLC on sale.

Side Order is lovely! dedf1sh is back!!!!

I have no idea what the SO gameplay actually is (rougelike? -'replayability', skill trees?) but it looks amazing

I thought this was coming out soon and tbh, I'm glad it isn't. I feel like after I'm done with the DLC, I'm done with the game as a whole, so this gives me more time to try to fully enjoy it as a multiplayer game

also I have like 10+ games to play in the next 4 months, and that's not even talking about games coming out I've already decided I'll get much later.

So glad we finally got an update on Side Order today! Was watching the Direct at the end of class and I had to prevent myself from screaming during the opener lol. I’m disheartened about the 2024 release date but the Inkopolis plaza was originally scheduled for Spring 2023 so it could come sooner (maybe?). This looks absolutely sick both gameplay and story-wise, don’t play rogue-likes asides from the challenge mode in Xenoblade 3 but hopefully it’s fun! I’m worried about what happened to Pearl becoming a drone and Marina being missing though
