@WoomyNNYes I know I keep asking questions, but badges? You can get badges?

@Snatcher You're only one step behind me. I just learned about this last night from posts on the previous page.

Here's a video outlining how to get the badges. Participate in three 10x battles and you will unlock badges for all three Deep Cut character. So you don't have to worry about missing one. If you don't get the bages this splatfest, your progress carries over to the next splatfests. So, I don't think you have to worry about missing them if you don't get them this splatfest. Watch the two minute video to see all details (there are gold badges too)

Can I ask about the first Splatoon game on Wii U here ?
Recently I have a plan to consider the first Splatoon game on Wii U as I found a seller in my country have a lot of Wii U second games including Splatoon 1 for sale and I have to wait until my salary day to purchase them.
Also, since I have a chance to increase my Wii U games library from those rare Wii U games, I want to get Splatoon 1 as well while the item is still available.
Since I will consider the Solo gameplay from Splatoon games like Ratchet & Clank style, without joining in Turf Battle as I play the games alone and Offline, could you explain me the difference of Solo gameplay from Splatoon 1 - 3, what are the benefits and cons from each series, how do I get all weapons and the fashion looking, are there any trivia things that I can enjoy while playing alone and wandering around the city ?

@Anti-Matter I strongly recomend trying out online (in 3), its a blast even if you're alone (very limited comunication with teamates though) but if it doesn't intreset you, I get it.

Splatoon 1's story mode is much shorter and less varied, but I personally enjoyed it. Unless if you've got the splatoon 1 amiibo, you can only play story mode with a shooter, so there's much less replayability. The bosses in 1 sort of suck (I love the fish one though) and you have to beat every level in every world to finish the game, so if you're stuck on a level or don't like one, you can't just ignore it. The really tedious splatoon 3 rail levels aren't in the game though, so not being able to skip isn't that bad.
I found 1's story mode way easier, because almost all enemies completely ignore you if you just throw a bomb, but you might want an easier experience.

If you found a cheap copy and like splatoon story modes, I'd recommend you get it, but it's probably the weakest story mode in the series.

@Anti-Matter Since you've never played splatoon, I don't think you'll want splatoon 1. It's single player game is the smallest, maybe the least developed. If you were going to buy a splatoon game for the single player, I'd recommend splatoon 2 or 3.

Regarding fashion customization: You don't want to play online, so you'll never be able to earn the money to buy the clothing. You have to play a lot of online games regularly to earn the money for the clothing you want. On top of that, the in-game store only sells about 6-8 pieces of clothing randomly each day. It takes months to get the clothing sets I want, which requires LOTS of online play.

Regarding the variety or weapons in Splatoon, you can't change weapons while playing a level like you can in Ratchet & Clank. In Splatoon, you select the weapon you want to use before entering the level. The challenge is beating the level with the weapon you choose. It's kind of like learning to master a weapon type, like a samarai learns a sword, or like learning a kung fu fighting style to utilize a weapon-type's strengths.

If you're getting a Wii U because you want to play other games too, then sure, you can give Spaltoon 1 a try, but you won't be able to buy clothes without money earned playing online. With Splatoon 1 being as old as it is, I'm not sure how long it takes to find players for online, or if you can even find enough players to play. (but I know you don't want to play online)

Oof. This is still one of the hardest splatefests I've played in. Playing Open mode, its like I keep playing against partied up players & seasoned competitive players. It's hardly a fair fight when my team is usually ramdom casuals. Although, I guess, maybe other splatfests have seemed hard like this on Splatoon 3, but the difficulty seems more pronounced this time.

If anyone says Pro mode is easier, it's never been better when I've tried it in the past in my region. I may try Pro out of desperation, but I'm skeptical.

Day 2 of the Splatfest is over. I feel I participated enough. Only Tri Color Turf War. 46 matches total. We lost 6 matches against Team Shiver and 7 against Team Muri. We won 2 matches thanks to Team Shiver and 5 thanks to Team Frye. 21 wins for our Team Mantaro.

We had 5 mirror matches. 2 lost 3 won. I did also count x battles and Team Frye won the least and Team Mantaro the most. Anyway I did my part, whatever the result will be, they lost, we won.

It was a great Splatfest, that is for sure.

You should really consider trying the online mode in Spatoon 3. The singleplayer is also the most fun in Splatoon 3. But I would not recommend playing Splatoon for the singleplayer. It is fun but ultimately just a way to learn the basics of the game.

I’m all done for this splatfest and all I have to say is that that was one of the most atmospheric gaming experiences I have had in a long time(this games world building is sublime)

Got to Ruler rank, still never got another 10x. So, I only saw one, maybe two 10x battles. It seems a bit absurd that playing until Ruler rank didn't yield more than one or two 10x.

@Jhena @BingleyBongley

Before today, Anti-Matter has made it clear he has zero interest in the online modes for Splatoon. He dislikes most shooters or online competitive games - I think partly because he doesn't like most violence in games, and most of his games are usually quite light & cheery. He's picky, but that's ok. Ratchet & Clank is possibly his only exception that I'm aware of for a shooter. If he want's Splatoon, he's going to have to justify it for the single player only, and skip clothing(gear) customization.

Alright I will respect that. Just felt like giving him a little warning, because I do not want him to be disappointed. I feel like most people would call Splatoon 1's singleplayer a tutorial.

Every Shiver team that led at halftime has won. Doesn't mean that'll always be the case but it's food for thought.
Based on having mirror matches, I'm pretty sure Shiver will have the votes. The Sneak Peek is worth 7 points and the votes are worth 8, so Shiver would be just one point ahead of Frye right now. Big Man has to sweep the battle modes or win Tricolor and either Open or Pro to win. Only winning one mode would just make him a spoiler by taking away a mode from one of the other two.

From my experience, mirror matches are problem for all teams: I got a 1:3 regular to mirror ratio as a Frye player, and my brother got over half mirror matches as a Big Man player.

(Also, I have not gotten "Twice as many 10x Battles" like we were promised )

@Anti-Matter Should've mentioned that there's nothing like table turf in Splatoon 1 (squid jump doesn't justify a purchase) so the only thing you'll be getting is the 5 hour story mode.

I thought they said x10 battles will be more frequent, but I had just 3 out of the many matches. And then I thought I was missremembering something.
I had many more x10 and x100 in past Splatfests than I had this weekend... 🤔

@WoomyNNYes
Thanks for the explanation about Splatoon 1.
But I want to ask again about Splatoon 1 since my Wii U machine is always connected to internet, do I need my Wii U connected to internet just for requiring a permit to buy fashion stuffs in Splatoon 1 even I don't play Online battle since I knew Wii U era is already over and the only thing I can do is play the games Offline?
Btw, if I paired with another controller to simulate Local Multiplayer Play, is this method can obtain money and level up even being played Offline?

Also, what is that mean by Level Up ?
I saw there was a number of Level on Top Right.
Can I play through the Story Mode and beat the Final Boss Offline without being stuck for not having required weapons or things to continue the storyline ?

No good deed
