Topic: Splatoon 3

This was the first time I played Big Run, actually. I forgot what my highest score was, but I don't think it was nearly as high as you guys. Probably around 50 or so. I have a very difficult time with Salmon Run in general, honestly... maybe I'm awful at it. I got to pick my Splatfest team, and I ended up going for Big Man. I feel kinda bad for him... all he wanted to do was make a song with the Squid Sisters. And it's one of my favorite Splatfest tunes, too!

@Wolfleaf Well zero is less than ten so.. same here! I got 3 King Salmonig encounters but due to unfortunate matchmaking I cleared only one. No Gold Scales for me this time, although I did finally buy the Crustwear XXL from the shop!

@Wolfleaf I should also add that I am Pro+3. If you are EVP you have better chances at Gold Scales so that may have been a factor as well.

I've heard lots of people saying that horrorboros is super difficult, but I find cohozuna much harder. I usually fail my encounters with cohozuna, but pass those with horrorboros. Is there a trick or something I'm missing for cohozuna?

Didn't get splatoon 2 or the octo expansion, wanted to know if they're worth getting for only story mode. I prefered splatoon 1's story mode over splatoon 3's, but it's probably just nostalgia...

I think you can answer that. Would you think Splatoon 1 is worth it for the single player? I personally think it's worth it to get Splatoon 2 for the single player. If you prefered Splatoon 1 single player over Splatoon 3, then Splatoon 2 single player will probably appeal to you more. Then, if you like Splatoon 2 single player, you can get Octo Expansion. Note: Octo Expasion access is granted if you have a NSO Expansion subscription.

I never had a Wii U. Ever since I fell for Splatoon 2, I would totally buy Splatoon 1 for the single player if it was available on the switch.

If you do get s2 I thoroughly recommend getting octo expansion with it. You’ll not regret it one bit.

Has anyone in Europe got the shiver/Frye/big man banner? (I think it’s a regional thing)

Do they actually add new gear in the season updates? I’ve not seen anything new in the shops.

@jump each season, the new gear (and emotes) are unlocked from the catalog. If you press X to open the menu, you cav view the entire catalog from the tab that shows your current banner setup.

@Fizza I just made 70,000 coins in about an hour by completing the first 1300 points/capsules in salmon run.

@Budda I don't expect anyone to change their play activity sharing settings, because that's not what I'm after. Your locker is always missing from my locker room if you're not online. If it's not the play activity sharing setting, or the difference between best switch friends and regular switch friends, I don't know what it is. My main issue is, I don't know why the game always shows my two switch friends that NEVER touch Splatoon 3 instead of your locker. Why would I want to see two small newb lockers that haven't been updated since 6-10 months ago? Unless, their status of being friends longer is what determines it? That could make sense. It's not a big deal at all, but I find it surprising that something seems to play a part prioritizing friends that aren't active in the game over a splatoon friend that is active with the game. Since you have more hours and achievements in the game than others, I was curious to see your locker, and I noticed it never shows.(except when you're online.) I don't think it's region related, because at least one or two switch friends are in UK, and their locker's always show.

@_Lime Yeah, same for north america,. We still don't have any new Switch news splatoon articles since august 7. So no articles with the QR code for the new banner. Since today's a national holiday in the US, I'm expecting the article to go live tomorrow or after for NA.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but since, like, October or Novermber?, I think the only time new gear is added to the shop, is after you unlock it from the catalog. Which is weird, because unlocking it via the catalog gives it to you, so there's no need to buy it. I'm not sure what the reason is, but someone else here probably knows better. But I think that's how it works. So, the catalog is the source of new gear. The only other place new gear comes from is Salmon Run, or unlocking gear via single player game, or amiibo.

About the catalogue gear. Haven't they changed it in an update? Before, it was indeed just in the shop if you have unlocked it from the catalogue. But I thought they changed it? The reason why it's purchasable after unlocking was/is to upgrade its star level with money.

You have to have the NSO Expansion Pack subscription to get access to it. That's the one with the N64, GBA, and Genesis/Mega Drive games. The base NSO sub doesn't include access to Octo Expansion and the other DLC. So it's either the NSO Expansion Pack, or buy Octo Expansion outright.

@Budda Nope, you're totally fine @Budda<3 I'm just puzzled by what developers did that keeps these two zombie friend's lockers in my friends locker area. I thought, maybe your locker would stay for a bit, or bump them out. However, after you closed your game, your locker disappeared, and the boring zombie splatoon 3 friend's locker returned.

Sometimes I also check out friend's lockers because it shows their current banner, titles, and badges, which may reveal new progress, achievments, banners, or something rare, etc..

Ohhh, that's right. Catalog gear unlocks in the shop, too, so you can boost it's star power. I forgot that.

I am almost to EVP for the first time ever! I love Salmonid Smokeyard!!

I wanna take the time to mention how much I love the new music tracks that they added in the new update. They're so good... especially Aquasonic! It might just be my favorite regular battle theme in this game.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah no problem. I remember they added it as a way to prepare folks for Splatoon 3 before the game came out. Though... I already finished it by the time that happened, lol.
