What worries me about this game is that you keep your experience points even after failing a battle. When you try a difficult levels multiple times you are inadvertently grinding levels.
I think this makes the game too easy, because it lets you finish a difficult battle after several attempts simply due to accumulating EXP and not due to improving your strategy.

Sounds good to me. Demo was way too hard, seems like I wasn't alone in feeling this way based on the feedback stuff they posted. I am now a lot more interested in the game knowing the full game will be more forgiving. I like using experimentation in tactics based games, something that I can't do when the game is curb stomping me over and over again.
I mean, I do agree with that. Though to me its more that losing a half hour to an hour of progress because that's how long a battle takes is a huge barrier to me playing tactics games often. So having my failure not be a complete waste of time would be appreciated.

An alternative Solution could be to allow Save Points during Battle. Then, after losing you could return to the middle of the last battle, and don't lose the entire progress.
That's also true. In the games I played, they only had mid-level saving that went away the moment you come back to them, ala Majora's Mask owl statues.
That's also why I got more into stealth in Deus Ex: Human Revolution than other stealth games, because I could save whenever, so I could slowly master it while attempting a non-lethal run.

@Magician OH damn we're getting a card deck?! That's insane.
The Steel Box and the Book-like Collector's edition looks pretty insane.
Defo getting this one as soon as I can pre-order it :b
Assuming this LE will be $90, it's...fine, if a little underwhelming. Playing cards and dice to emphasize the unpredictable nature of your dialogue choices in the game? It's appropriate, but I would've preferred lithographs and a soundtrack on disc.

I prefer-ordered but may end up cancelling as looking closer, an extra 40 quid for some dice, a steel book, some cards, poster and a box……not the best deal in my eyes. I mean no artbook or OST CD.
Downloading the demo was we speak, did not enjoy how brutally hard the first demo was but I understand they rebalanced a lot of stuff based upon that feedback, so very interested to see how this new demo plays. Triangle Strategy is very much my kind of game, but not if it is brutally hard with no way to retune or turn down the difficulty.
First THREE chapters? And the progress carries over to the full game? They probably just gave away 15% of the full game in this demo!
I started a new save file before heading to work today. Can't believe more ppl aren't talking about this though. Maybe it's all the excitement from all the other announcements. Once it settles down a bit, maybe ppl will go grab this demo and check it out

Yeah, I missed that bit in the Direct itself, though, @JaxonH .... Just wait until the full game has 30 chapters, though! & you'd generally expect more to be happening in later ones, lol Do I take it you're sold now, if you weren't entirely sure before?
@BruceCM
I've been sold, ever since I played the first demo.
But I think experiencing the game from the start, rather than being thrown into the middle of the story like the last demo, does a much better job at building emotional attachment to the characters.
