@Pizzamorg I'm usually quite lenient towards to the battle animations myself (I've supported this series since I was in the single digits in terms of age, I have a tendency to look past a lot of the more questionable stuff involved with it) but this time I have to agree with you on that front. It's not just because they're similar animations to the ones we've had for a looooooong while now (though some of them do still look pretty nice), it's the fact that battles take place openly like PLA and not in a designated area like SwSh with a moveable camera (presumably). Legends Arceus got away with it due to the animations being a lot more involved than before (such as Pokemon running up to do melee attacks for instance), but when SV handles them in the same way as SwSh, it can/does look pretty awkward (like bro how did they get away with this).
Apart from that and a worry about how progression will be handled with Gyms and such (how would you know which ones to go to first if there's no level scaling?) though, the game looks fantastic. Cannot wait for November 18th (which conveniently happens to be just under two weeks after my birthday so there's my bargaining chip I guess XD).

If there's no level scaling, it'll be more like Pokemon Red and Blue, where you could do the last few gyms in any order, but instead of it being unintentional like it was in Gen 1, it'll be completely intentional.

Also, personally for me the presentation is something I've grown numb to for Pokemon. Each game has always been behind in terms of graphical presentation, and I don't mind. My main gripe is when the gameplay itself isn't good, or if the graphics are eye meltingly bad. The graphics in SV are passable to me, and the battle animations aren't really a huge dealbreaker either. It's sad that we don't have the same level of animation work in battles that we did in Legends, but at the same time I don't mind as long as the gameplay ends up being good.

@VoidofLight This is going to be like Legends but worse, mainly because right now we have very detailed explanations for things. Plus screenshots are starting to get out and there in HD.
And to think, all of this was born of people's impatience for news... with a game series which releases yearly. I'd get it if it were something like Zelda, where it's taking six years just to get another game, but with this series we had Legends at the very start of the year. So we aren't getting news every few weeks... but why does that matter? It's still releasing this year, and the news is frequent enough. I'm convinced this fanbase just doesn't have patience.
