Topic: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet

If there is a Trio Tomatoes Pokemon in Gen 9, I will assume the idea was from Asereje by Las Ketchup. 😆

I feel like the "me" from 3 years ago, would have already been convined that this would have been the best pokemon game combining the best of battling mechanics with a couple cool features from PLA.

But after the near-perfect SwSh, the battling community has been largely abandoned by GF.

As long as the game has some single player replayability like the Battle Frontier or raids (or something new) it'll at least be a good time.

@X-Slayer If we're going by the Sword and Shield hype cycle as a template, we probably will get another Pokemon Presents in June, covering Scarlet and Violet.

We probably won't be able to see the starter evolutions until later, if at all. We could probably go the entire hype cycle without knowing, much like Legends and Sword and Shield. @X-Slayer

I wonder whether there will be some new gimmick(s) this time around beyond the open world schtick.

And incidentally, it ticks me off when there are special forms (i.e. Mega/Gigantamax) for Pokémon that aren't accessible in later games.

I have a mixed opinion on this announcement. On one hand, I'm excited that we're getting another region to explore, one that appears to be modeled off of Spain? I'm definitely getting those vibes from both some of the architecture and the starter names. I love Sprigatito's design (because cats <3), and Fuecoco is somewhat cute and Quaxly is...growing on me, sorta. This may be one of the few Gens where I don't go with the Fire starter, though I'll need to see final evolutions first. I would never have went with Sobble in this case.

On the other hand, I'm in some agreement with others to where I feel the series is becoming a little saturated with releases. I used to have no problem keeping up with the Pokemon cycle back in the day, but I feel like the games are releasing a lot quicker and could use more TLC. I'm not too concerned about graphics with these yet; they still have several months to polish the game, and TBF graphics often don't bother me unless the game looks like a muddy mirror and the frame rate chugs down to almost 5 FPS or less. I realize BDSP were worked on a separate team, but for context I just played through Shield + the DLC a couple months ago and have yet to pick up one of the Sinnoh remakes (hopefully later this month) and PLA. Part of it too is there are way more games coming out + less time to play them in versus when I was a teenager or even compared to part of my college career.

I know, I know, #FirstWorldProblems. But I was really hoping they'd give the cycle a break the rest of this year after BDSP and PLA. Yeah, I could skip BDSP, but I've 1. Been wanting to revisit Sinnoh anyway since it's one of my favorite regions, and 2. Unfortunately, most Pokemon games only have a single file slot, and I'm not keen on overwriting my old Diamond and Platinum files....

Gen 6 (French) = Mega Evolution
Gen 7 (Hawaii) = Silly Z-Moves
Gen 8 (UK) = Gigantamax
Gen 9 (Spain) = ???
Something about Spain or something about empowering the parameter.
I have crazy ideas such as Fusion (like Digimon) or Dual Technic (Suikoden) or Gestatl Mode (FF XIII).

To Octone and others who thought graphics is worse then Legends: Arceus, you forget that this was revealed around 10 months before it will be released and that for some time all Pokémon game reveals says "Game footage is not final" in gameplay at middle in the bottom even this one said that in first 5 seconds of gameplay too. So quality in graphics will increase like it was with previous year games reveal (BDSP and L:A).

My crazy thought, maybe you can transform your Pokemon into different looking with different stats and special power, just like Kamen Rider RX.
Even crazier idea, Gestalt Mode like FF XIII.
Imagine Charizard can transform into Butterfly Aeroplane like Bahamut FF XIII.

Taking place in the Cornucopistan region, a land blessed with such abundance that new and beloved Pokémon alike have adapted to resemble their very diets (would that make them cannibals now?). You don't want to know what Cornucopistani Snorlax looks like!

Now there's a holiday release I wouldn't mind tucking in to.

Bulbapedia: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's compatibility with Pokémon HOME was announced before Pokémon HOME was updated to be compatible with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
I was banging 99-100% that we get news when update for Home will arrive to support these games, month or whole date, at the Pokémon Day Presents . And here is a song that is suited for this situation:

@SViper I've been holding off getting HOME until BDSP/Legends compatability gets released. As you can imagine, my boxes are absolutely stuffed (Legends in particular).

Also, I have A LOT of shinies across both games that I want to have safe in HOME (such as Hitmontop, Kricketune, Sneasler, Growlithe and so many more).

@Fizza after you fill 4 boxes you unlock option to release select Pokémon at once instead just always do one by one, plus releasing Pokémon is best method to get all Grits and a lot at once.

@SViper WAAAAAAAAAAY ahead of you on that one, I've been doing that after every outbreak and my boxes are still a mess. My problem is that I find it difficult to release the ones with good stats since I feel as though I may use them in the future (I never do for the record). Couple that with setting aside a box specifically for shinies and my boxes are comparable to my bedroom: a mess.
