Something interesting I saw at first coverage day in serebii: However, while IVs are not utilised in the stat calculations, they can determine the starting Effort Level for a stat:
IV of 0-20 gives it Effort Level 0
IV of 20-25 gives it Effort Level 1
IV of 26-30 gives it Effort Level 2
IV of 31 gives it Effort Level 3

It's pretty much the Macarena/Despacito of the early 2000s.

You know what...these starters are really starting to grow on me.

They're genuinely the first set of (unevolved) starters since Gen VI that I like all three of. And they're probably my favourite set of starters since Gen III.

Let's hope the evolutions live up to the first stages. I've not been much of a fan of the final starter evolutions starting from Gen V.

This game looks so much better and so much more fun than Legends.

My hope with Gen 9th starters that they would bring back dual-types at last stage or even mid stage, because Gen 8th starters are all way pure types and I love when Pokémon has dual-types.

@SViper Same here. I really like the Gen 8 starters being monotype (first time since Gen 2 where that had happened incidentally) but I am more than ready to go back to dual typed final evos. My prediction for each of them is Grass/Psychic, Fire/Dragon or Ground and Water/Flying or Dark.

@Fizza everyone is speculating Fire/Dragon, if it is really that typing then I know my starter. xD

@SViper Eh, a starter probably would never get a dragon typing, given how powerful dragon types are.

I always look at the starters and think... eh. They're alright, I guess.

And while I won't go so far as saying these are downright amazing, they're definitely the best set I've seen since following the franchise. Then again, Froakie was cool (Didn't like Scorbunny's bandaid though).

Either the duck or the fire croc are my picks.

I like how one of the reasons they are basing this region off of Spain and Portugal is mainly because of the countries being a massive square-like landmark, so it makes it easier on them to develop their open world on a square-like map.

@VoidofLight God always finds a way I suppose. I mean the last game was about Arceus after all, it makes sense.

I love fuecoco he's beautiful. I'll have to see final evos but right now he's my favorite starter, Sprigatito being my least favorite, he's just weed Litten.
My guesses about the starters are Fuecoco final evo is a hydra or a wyvern of some kind and they get fire/dragon, Quaxley I'm thinking like what someone said previously with the hair, a bull fighter and water/fighting or water/dark, and Sprigatito final evo will probably be like a leopard-furry-drug-dealer or something grass/poison. (Just to clarify, that's a joke, I have no idea about Sprigatito).

I wonder what this regions Pikachu will look like

@VoidofLight we were discussing that at serebii Discord and a lot people said is possible especially due reason that Primarina has another of stronger types already, so everything is possible.

@TommyTendo : Pikachu was already shown in the reveal trailer (in its original design).

@Silly_G I was thinking about like the Plusle's and Minun's and Pachirisu's and Dedenne's etc.

@DomGC Because it looks so bright and vibrant and there seems to be much more to explore in the game from what we have seen so far.
