@Pokester99 Says the authority in all things Pokémon. Face it, this game is the future of the franchise. Either embrace it, or you won't be very pleased with the next mainline entry which will be in this style.
I'm no pokemon officianado as many of you can guess, but what if they have both styles moving forward? Traditional and arceus style? I'd certainly be happy with that. Doesn't the Zelda team kind of have something similar with 2d and 3d teams? Or maybe it was handheld and console teams. I can't remember, but you get my point lol.
The worst pokemon designs in history of the series.. What the hell happened? Im so confused. Are they making all of them ugly to pique our interest? Ursaluna, Dialga, Typhlosion, Sneasler.... but the worst one is Enamorus. what. the hell... Does anyone agree?
I must say, seeing this thread derail while having said source of derailing muted is quite the read. I literally have no idea what is going on..... and I think that's probably for the best

@skywake I could tell you if you want to know here it is (Its not an actual spoiler) taking about how the pokemon look like there from furry convention
I saw the leaks for palk, and I have to agree, They did my boy dirty, but at least you can change them back I think.
@roy130390 Kinda depends, Someone is still around the start area of the game, and are almost 20 hours into it, if you really wanted to you could get through the whole game in about 10 hours, but thats if you ignore things like side quest, and only catch pokemon to the point your rank goes up.
Then again, I have yet to beat the game, and I'm guessing a little bit, because I'm almost to the end.
Yeah I am about 19ish hours in and on pursuit of my fifth mount? And the final Noble (at least based on the card, I assume there is more to come), so I am not really sure how people are doing this game in like 20ish hours. I guess they are super efficient with the grinding portions? Whereas those are like me hitting a wall as I don't find it fun at all.
Also in terms of some other comments, again, I actually generally agree with @Pokester99. I am happy that a bunch of people love this new approach to Pokemon, but it isn't for me. I miss the structure of a S/S style Pokemon game. I dunno how realistic it would be for there to be a "mainline" and a "Legends" game on a rotation, especially if Game Freak did it all themselves, but I just really hope the future of Pokemon isn't just this. Like the QoL changes need to stay, but I just don't want every future Pokemon game to feel like I am playing an MMO offline like this does.
Also, I don't have a huge amount of history with the designs in this series, so most of the Husian forms I don't even realise they are different. However, for the few I do notice, yeah... not great, to be honest. Although I do like Typhlosion's purple flames and Buddhist necklace thing. It is the reason I haven't let Rowlet evolve, from one of the most adorable Pokemon ever to a final evolution that makes her look like some sort of homeless man.
@Pizzamorg Its not for everyone, thats for sure, At least your happy for people that Enjoy the game, I just wish you did as much as I.
Oh and yes, rowlet's final form sucks now, and a collective few of the new Hsuian forms suck, but there's also a lot of them I like, So it kinda balance's out for me.
Edit: TBH, I'm at the final noble, and got another star rank, but I still have so many pokemon I want to collect now, I might not finish it for a wile.
@Eel I haven't seen to many yet as well. But can we talk about the gyarados flying. its gotta be the most funny thing I have ever seen in a pokemon game!
I just beat the main story tonight. Overall, I wouldn't say that the game is the best in the series, or that the story itself is as good as Black and White like so many hyped it up to be. To be fair however, I heard the post-game stuff is also pretty heavy on story, so I might need to play that before I say much else about the story of this game. I liked some of the things they ended up doing though, like how you legit get banished from the village... however, I didn't really enjoy the execution, or how the "villain" of the game was. The head of the Galaxy team banishes you for complying with his own orders, and then goes up to Coronet to kill Palkia or Dialga, seeing as they're a threat to the region in their frenzied states. I did like how he technically wasn't a villain though, since he wanted to protect his people more than anything, but c'mon.
Gameplay-wise however, I only really have a few gripes about the game itself. For one, I just wish the areas were bigger, and had much more to do in them. Some areas felt really tiny, and most felt like they had nothing to do in them aside from the occasional landmark, or catching pokemon. I get Hisui is meant to be empty, but I would've preferred a bit more in terms of native camps or something. I also wish the pokemon were more interesting, and actually interacted more with their environment, rather than just standing around, attacking the air, or going to sleep in a random spot.
The music is great, but sometimes I wonder what they were thinking with the OST, when every trainer battle (including the story focused ones) had the same exact battle theme. Like, one of the final battles in the main story legit uses the generic trainer fight theme, instead of them composing a piece fit for the final trainer. The heads of the clans also use the generic clan fight theme, instead of them getting their own as well... and same for the antagonistic team.
The area themes are good, but then you have your issues with one of the late game areas being nothing more than a brief hall, so you don't actually get to hear one of the best area soundtracks due to it...
I'd say I enjoyed Legends for it's gameplay, and I feel like I'll probably be playing the game more and more, but it's just far from being perfect. I can see the potential for the next Legends games, assuming they'll end up continuing this sub-series, and not axing it like they did with Let's Go, and this wasn't a bad attempt at a new game like this, but I just wish the game did a bit more. I kinda wish it got a delay just to polish the OST, the visuals, and the areas.

@VoidofLight, your balanced thoughts on the game were pleasant to read. Other than Pokester who is their own extreme, I kinda feel like I am going mad a bit with this game. I'll say x criticism and then at least a dozen people appear to tell me that this wasn't an issue at all. I was starting to wonder if it'd gone mad or ended up in the upside down. I know people are excited for the game and I don't want to rob anyone of that, but just a more balanced collection of thoughts was pleasant.
I do think when the honeymoon period ends with Legends, there is going to be some serious revisionism much like with Sword and Shield. Right now Legends is getting a lot of praise just for being different but I think a point will be reached when people get over that, look at Legends more critically and I don't think time will be kind to it. Maybe I'm off base, but I guess we'll touch base by the end of the year and see where this lands. I personally think more will align with the 7 out of 10 reviews than those who stand by the 9 out of 10 reviews.
I think it's an alright game, but yeah, I don't think it's as good as people made it up to be. It's probably my favorite 3D entry, but compared to the whole series, it still doesn't take the cake. I really just get the feeling it'll be pretty average, and once they continue with Legends, it'll probably be seen as a more archaic version, assuming they keep up with Legends as a series, and improve upon it drastically each time they release one.

So far the new Lilligant and Sneasel’s Evo seem a bit awkward, design wise. Almost Digimon-like. But eh.
Typhlosion looks nearly identical without the flames. But I think once in battle its new form is pretty cool.
Haven’t really seen the other starter forms yet so can’t comment on them.
I half agree about Sneasler but I thinks it’s more down to the pose rather than the actual design itself. It looks too purposeless and out of its environment with it just standing there.
@VoidofLight
Definitely agree that the areas could have been bigger. Or even just have the entire world as one area. Don't get me wrong, they're large areas, but now I have the ability to climb I feel l just keep hitting invisible walls. And not necessarily in places that make sense
Same with the random rank walls. Just make the Pokemon harder yeah? Or have those specific events not open until I have that rank. The rank already limits the strength of Pokemon you can have. Make the level gap be the wall, not a wall or rank
