@Harmonie I mean, it probably becomes more of an action game at that point, but you could have the option to throw Poke Balls in real time perhaps; but walking into them would initiate a regular battle so you can weaken the Pokemon (or just fight them) if you want. And it doesn't even have to be ''open world'' to do any of that. All of that can work with the current more linear setup. It only requires a larger map and more interaction between the Pokemon and their environment. However, as long as they need to do that for 800+ Pokemon, I can't see it ever happening. It would require a spin-off, or a reboot.
God, I see this all the time. Companies will copy articles on subjects they know nothing about, and when they are tasked to write a headline they regurgitate whatever may be the subject. Leave the news to the professionals, CNN.
they seem to have misinterpreted the analyst they quote in the article, basically Patcher stated the obvious and said "pokemon is a big franchise and fans will buy it".
After rewatching the trailer, this is what I found for the regional dex. I included full evolution lines for all Pokémon that showed up, and I’m just gonna assume there are gonna be legendary Pokémon for each game.
...This reads more like 1. The Switch is failing, and 2. It would be minutely more accurate for Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. Why don't they leave this stuff to actual game journalists? XD
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@Skid I know repels are a thing you can't find Pokémon while you have it. I only find it just a little annoying to go in and out of the battle screen if you find something you don't like.
What if instead you got a message telling you what Pokémon you are encountering and if you want to run or battle in the world and if you are unable to run then it would open the battle screen? That would be an easy compromise. It would still work the same way but it's way faster.

@puNINTENDed That's an excellent idea. I sometimes get tired when I have to battle wild pokemon that I already got or when I am training a pokemon and a wild that's super effective against my pokemon appears. It's a drag and it's unnecessary, because it can (slowly or quickly, depending on the person) kill the motivation to do what one is doing.
Undergoing games:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
I have a question,
I've not played pokemon since gen 2. Now do I wait for sword and shield in hoping that I be able to get all pokemon, or do I have to buy 2ds xl buy pokemon game to build a pokebank up? That hoping that pokebank comes to switch version any help I would feel appreciate before I spend 120 pound on a ds console just for pokemon games lol. Thanks
