I've finished two tournaments and having a hard time putting it down. Really liking this game so far. I've played both docked and handheld it works great both ways.
It's not NBA jam but it's a good NBA arcade game. Def worth $20.
pretty much the same as everyone else, im really enjoying the game but it's taking me some time to get used to shooting in particular whereas the AI are nailing about 90% of shots.
Did manage to win the NY tournament so im getting better, more practice needed.
The in-game play is totally like NBA Hangtime (N64). Even after beating the game (which required beating every single team, including my own!), sometimes you'd swear you shot it perfect (and you probably did), and it would rim out. Hot and cold streaks.
The NL review said powerups didn't matter, but I sure made a ton more shots after the first game.
My mains right now are Tim Hardaway (drains 3s) and LaMarcus Aldridge (loved him on Portland). I do have Chris Mullin and Partick Ewing waiting in the wings. Will play my first tourney tonight.
Also, wanted to add that Ian Eagle is a really famous announcer here in the NYC area. Nice touch to the game.
Anyways, I'm really starting to get what I need to do down now thanks to the championship game in Paris. Anyone else have a hard time with Griffin and Paul on that one? Gee what a pain! Seem liked they never missed a shot.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

Are you sure we're not talking about his dad, Dell Curry, because I unlocked him as a legend player.
I'm playing it with my brother with sideways joy-cons. So you can do it. Really a lot of fun!!
I've been trying to figure out how i can share the undocked joycons between myself and a friend, but cant seem to find the option to enable me to do so. How did you manage it or does anyone else have had any luck in making it work.
@FGPackers Is there a way to see what the challenges are for each one? I've completed the first 2 tournaments with all gold so far. Oh and does Malone just constantly throw endless elbows? That's a joke btw if you didn't know.

The game is fun but it falls very short when compared to NBA Jam.
This game makes it very hard to want to try a dunk. I have won 3 tournaments by only shooting 3 pointers. I make 90% of them every game.
Alley-oops are complicated and I am not a fan of needing stamina to try a steal. The game is addictive as in I want to unlock all the players, but there is no real good reason for XP.
I have to give this game a 6/10 as it is missing that fast paced 2 on 2 feel and no real way to know why you miss your layups and dunks.
@Lethal I got the dunks down fairly well now but these tournaments are getting harder and harder. It's like you have to keep spamming the steal button over and over again. Plus you can't stand still for a second and constantly have to keep using the cross-over or you will get the ball stolen ever time.

Everything you said is pretty much spot on!
I think the reason I'm more forgiving is because there are so few quality games on Switch at this point.
