....Well Risen Chameleos kicked my butt hard, yikes. lol
I didn't even faint once from Flaming Espinas (came close a couple of times, though), but Chameleos I almost failed the quest towards the end. So, yeah...holy crap. lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Unlike layered rampage weapons and layered weapons in World, it now works exactly like layered armor. You craft a layered weapon and it can be used on anything, unequipped at any time and used on something else.
This is so cool! Perfect for end game fashion hunting. Now you can truly have your perfect mix set while looking exactly like you want.

I keep trying to put this game down so I can dent my backlog.... and then Capcom keep releasing quality content/updates ha!
TU2 update is solid for sure, and layered weapons have been a long time coming.
Something else I found (didn't seem to be so widely advertised?) is you can also upgrade your armors a few levels.... so you can raise defense all around before taking on the new monsters.
I'm currently grinding my AR level - - -> 111, which should unlock the A6 quests... which in turn I believe set you against monsters that drop the materials needed for further weapon crafting upgrades. (Currently AR104... so a long way to go!)
Playing online a lot, sometimes friends but mostly randoms... always up for a hunt if anyone is interested!
I have Monkey Island as my other main game right now, which is a lovely change of pace every time I get roasted by flaming Espinas...
..................Is there a faster way to increase quest levels? I keep trying to search this up and all the guides just tell you how to raise the research level instead.
Like, I have low level quests that I would like to get up to level 50/60 or something, but since the level is so low you pretty much have to beat the quest A LOT...Seems like doing quests that are around my current level will only give you A5/6 monsters instead.

@Joeynator3000 I found that the fastest way was to play online, and then edit the investigation level to highest available. So if you are AR level 31, you select quest level min31-max31.
Leave everything else random, and then jump into the quest. If you are lucky, you will find that there are other 'non-target' monsters in that same quest... and if you manage to beat the quest then the 'non-target' monsters should also level up in line with the quest beaten.
So say you're target is a lv31 Amuldron, but you want to increase your quest level for Baggi, if there is a Baggi as a 'non-target' monster within same quest (and you beat the quest) then just by the Baggi being present it should then allow future Baggi quests to be lv31.
I'm probably not explaining this too well, but basically quickest way to get higher level quests in anomoly is basically to stick with MP and always pick highest quest level available.... and then pray to the RNG gods that one of the side-monsters in said quest is the monster you're looking to raise the quest level.
My experiences with randoms in MP have actually been OK, and not many are carting. But let me know if you want some support in levelling up and I'd be more than happy to jump on some hunts with you mate!
So basically just keep hammering the highest level Anomoly investigations online at the highest level you can do. (just manually adjust the 'min level' slider from lv1 - - > whatever lv is your max)
This worked great for me, and soon I was getting much higher level quests for most monsters.
I think the trick only works via multiplayer though, because the non-target monster level needs to be 'unlocked' by at least one of the players on your team.
@JaxonH Maybe you don't have a lot of free time in your day, but one hunt a day or something should be manageable as you play other games, right? For myself, I thankfully don't have anything booked until Mario + Rabbids 2 in late October. I was playing Trails in the Sky SC, but I'm gonna set that down again for a bit before picking it back up to blitz the final two chapters near the end of the year.
I also beat the Seething Bazelgeuse urgent last night, which was a lot tougher than Flaming Espinas. Planning on fighting the Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos today. Just urgent quests upon urgent quests, lol.
I was afraid it'd take me a bit to get back into the Switch Axe, but it all returned to me after, like, three minutes in the training hall.
They've added so much stuff to Sunbreak that it's almost intimidating.
@Ralizah
I know, I love it. And I never even finished the content from the base release of Sunbreak. I'm only MR31 so I still have Scorned Magnamalo and Furious Rajang to fight. On top of Lucent Nargacuga, Silver Rathalos, Flaming Espinas, Violet Mizutsune, Risen Chameleos, all the Afflicted Monster Quests and augmenting, and, I never even fought the new Sunbreak monsters more than once. I fought Gore Magala that one time with you. That's it. Same for many of the other monsters. I need mats from all of them in order to make layered armor and weapon sets (there's at least a dozen I want).
Hundreds of hours of content ahead. I'm down for some hunts this week if you want.

Yeah, I stopped a couple months ago around MR41, so I've still got a few base Sunbreak monsters to fight.
Just fought the Silver Rathalos, btw. Crazy fight. That thing is almost never not jumping around, flying, or shooting exploding jets of fire across the arena.

Gold Ian caught me slipping. I ran out of herbal medicines, got poisoned and knocked down, tried to wirefall backward and he hit me with that giant blue fireball. I knew immediately it was kitty cart time, even despite the aurtortoise preventing a faint from the initial explosion, the second part got me.

@JaxonH One cart each for Espinas and Bazelgeuse. With the former, my character was dazed right when I was low on health, and the enemy charged, so... not much to be done there. With the latter, I just got greedy, pushed my luck without healing, and then was caught in an explosion, so that was my bad.
No carts against the Rathalos. Probably helped that I spent the entire fight dodge rolling like a madman between attacks.

@TowaHerschel7 Definitely add me if we're not already friends on NSO. For monsters I've already fought before (which is... almost all of them, lol). I strongly prefer multiplayer.

Meanwhile, I've been using Violet Mizu's armor instead of normal Bazel's (which is basically the best Gunlance armor, lol), basically making myself play more aggressively with the Gunlance and so far it's been working. I also kept forgetting about the damn counter which I'm getting back into again. xD
But yeah, if only I could get skills that I want with the quiro armor stuff. It seems that certain armor can only get certain skills with this thing? Hard to tell, honestly...
