Yes, but unlike Three Houses, you don't share half the game for all routes. The split is almost immediate. Within the first hour or so. And each path is completely different. Different maps, different objectives, different storylines.
As for recruitment, datamining suggests some students will be recruitable from other houses, but not all. Some can be recruited by any house, some can only be recruited by a specific house, and some can't be recruited by any house. Recruiting is not in the demo though.
I believe this game is meant to have you experience all routes separately rather than try to amass all characters in a single route. Hence the split occurring so early and the routes all being so different. I plan to eventually recruit Dorothea (she's one all houses can recruit) because she was a force of nature in Three Houses. Aside from her though I'm sticking with the given group and will just replay routes for the others.

@JaxonH I wish TH has been that way. Having to play an almost identical first half of the game just to see the storyline differences in the second half really sucked.
So I suppose the implication is that instead of one playthrough with hundreds of hours of optional content, all the game's content is split somewhat equally between the three branching story paths?

Seems to be the case. Which I like. It adds tons of replayability. Also, the DLC house is in the base game which is nice. They're not in the demo, but a document you can find when exploring references them, and Nintendo has confirmed they're in the game. So they'll likely be recruitable. Staff and non-students, I'm guessing, will be made playable in the inevitable season pass.
As for Three Houses, I found the optimal approach to be playing through Black Eagles, making a save file before the Church-Edelgard split, finishing one, then loading the save and doing the other. And since the Church route is super similar to Golden Deer, you can skip that one.
Then start a new save and do Blue Lions. You will have to repeat the first half of the game before the split, but it's new characters and narrative for the first half, and switching to Normal Classic instead of Casual makes it a bit more interesting (I tried Hard and just couldn't do it).
At least that way you're only replaying the first half once, yet essentially getting the experience of all 4 routes.

At this point I just want to see what maps are returning if there are any. I'm pretty certain that was the Jungle in that one clip, though. No idea if the Jurassic Frontier and Misty Peaks rumors are true or not, but I was expecting at least one more map on top of the Citadel anyways, so, eh, I'm good.

Is Sunbreak going to have Rampage quests? I really hope they're not required quests this time, if so. Cannot overstate how much I dislike the Rampage quests. 😢
In addition to what's been mentioned here, there's also a Sunbreak demo on June 15th which allows you to check out the Jungle map as well as take on Astalos and Malzeno.
@Fizza
The hype is real! If even non-MH fans took notice, then you know Sunbreak is looking hot.
Yes, crabs have always been in MH. The two you saw- red one is Daimyo Hermitaur and the blue one is Shogun Ceanataur. The blue one is tougher and inflicts bleed.

@JaxonH I was watching the Europe stream that Push Square had up and it said June 15th so it seems to be that the demo will go live in around 24 hours (a time where it's June 14th in America and June 15th in Europe).
The Tower/Forlorn arena (whatever you want to call it, lol), I enjoyed that music, made fighting the rare species feel more epic. As for the crabs, I still hope Shen returns...
Also, that freakin' new move from Daimyo, lol
How did the title updates start out in IB anyways? I'm just wondering if they're still going to end Sunbreak on some huge big-time final bosses like IB did with Fatalis and Alatreon. (and Safi, never fought it, no idea when because, well, we already talked about all that, lol)
Anyways yeah, Gog and Dala, I hope they return. Along with a few others we simply haven't seen in a long time.

The title updates look massive. 3 full waves plus even more to come afterwards in 2023?!!!
Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos are almost certainly being added in title 1 update. Because they were also fought in the Forlorn Arena in MH3U. And with that map being added for Lucent, they'll want some extra monsters that can be fought in that arena. So ya, definitely count on Gold Ian and Silver Los dropping alongside Lucent in August.
It sounds like we're getting at least 10 additional monsters judging on the plural form of "new subspecies, new special species, and new rare species monsters". Plural means at least 2, so that's 10 minimum. PLUS the powered up monsters starting in fall and continuing in winter, PLUS the "more to come" in 2023, whatever that is.
That's a truckload of content. Way more than we got in the base game updates.
