@Snatcher I get like, 2 or 3 ranks. The rank varies, usually around A, and I have to do it alone. Tried going online earlier today and no one ever showed up.

Think you need to do rampages with Apexes, and you need to score S to S+. You'll jump by like 4 HR for a single quest.

That's coming from all the ppl who joined in with World and typically play stuff like Destiny 2. They think every game is a game as a service and must have endless free content for years.

MH isn't like that. It's a single player game that can also be played online, and just happens to get gobs of free DLC. World got one monster at a time, had to wait 3 months for the first one, and only got like 5 total for the base game as DLC.

We got what... 4 additional monsters + 2 Apex Monsters for free within the first 30 days? And then another 2 monsters + 1 Apex Monster a month after that? That's 6 new monsters and 3 Apexes in 60 days, and gobs of additional Quests and other misc content.

But ppl complain. Still they complain. Not enough. Not enough! Needs to be a v2 update every single month from now to G rank, all for free! Saw some YT saying, "I'm concerned about the road map, where's the additional monsters". Like, what additional monsters? You just got them! How many free monsters did you think they were gonna give out? 5 per month for a year straight? We already got twice the number World got, and before the time it took for World to even get it's first!

And then the endgame complaints. Like... guys. The game doesn't last forever. The grind that keeps you playing is making all the armor sets, layered armor, and getting the best charm. What else is there? Granted, there could be something like the Deviant system from MHGU or guild Quests from MH4U, or guiding lands in Iceborne, but all those were for G rank, when end game really begins. This is just an intermission before the higher rank comes. It's all gonna be irrelevant once G rank drops. The only thing that won't be, is layered armors and talismans, which can be used in G rank. And that's what the focus should be on. Hunt monsters. Keep making talismans. Get the best one you can to prepare for G rank when it comes. Stack your weapons and layered armors so you've got some stylish get ups to wear.

Getting an S+ is a pain, especially when alone, though. And I have the worst luck when it comes to hunting online with friends, with today being a perfect and recent example. T.T

also one of the Ramapges had a subquest where I had to use the Dragonator and/or S. Wyvernshot.

I did both, and the game didn't count either of them...wtf?

Think you have to repel a monster with the dragonator or wyvernshot, not just hit them. I think, anyways.

I’d love to hunt but it’s late and I have work. It’s a 3 day weekend though so I’m down to hunt any time starting tomorrow evening through Monday evening. I’ve got the 5 remaining Advanced quests added in the update, need to farm Valstrax a ton, need to farm All-Mother Narwa, need more Defender 9 rampage tickets from Apex Zinogre, and want to unlock the final 2 advanced quests you get once you finish all the ones available. The last 2 are supposedly diehard difficulty. Multiple monsters in the arena. One with Apexes and one with Valstrax and 2 other endgame monsters.

@Joeynator3000 You have be sure to do the tasks to get a high ranking for the most HR per rampage.

Oh nevermind I see the ranking thing has been discussed. I was just looking at previous pages and replied right away.

But yeah don't expect much from rampages alone.

For the record, A rank is uh, quite bad. The way they rank rampages in this game is weird, you have S+ and S++....and the bad ranking is A. For example Jax and I did a rampage earlier today, it was pretty messy; I carted twice and we did maybe like, one of the tasks? And we still got S rank.

I've never seen anything below A. I guess they just want to make players feel good no matter how they did? I dunno.

They should let you fail and show a cutscene of the monsters breaking though into Kamura and going full Jurrassic Park on the villagers. The freeze frame ends on the Apex eating Yomogi the Chef.

Speaking of which, I wonder if any footage exists of a failed rampage.

I never really cared about the ranking...so...eh...yeah I'm on my own I guess. T.T

I mean it IS possible to fail rampages apparently, but you have to practically be actively TRYING to fail, by doing literally nothing.

@Joeynator3000 You say that like it's a forgone conclusion that can't be changed. Shouldn't this be the motivator to make you care? Can't get that HR without putting in the work, y'know?

I never had to deal with HR restrictions before, also past games I didn't have to deal with ranking stuff.

Anyways the sub-quest thing literally says "use dragonator or s. wyvernshot", I don't know why it doesn't say repel with these.

EDIT: Eh, screw it...gonna play something else for a while. My hands are getting sore...

I never hunt with randoms anymore...I constantly have bad experiences with them, I'd rather just do it with friends.

@Joeynator3000 For as much as I complained about playing with randos it's actually alright in Rampage quests. They tend (given the format) to be more co-operative and communicative and as they usually end up running a little longer there's more of that sense of comradery. It's also a plus that they can't just catch everything under the bloody sun.

It's just I've always ran into trolls, leeches, and hackers whenever I hunted online. From the time I started back on Tri to even the more recent games like GU.

(I did play online like once or twice with randoms for World, but that was just horribly laggy....go figure.)

@Ulysses I feel like rampages suck for solo play.

@Ulysses I imagine that's why I see so many complaints about Rampage quests online. In all truth they are abysmal solo, I just don't get any enjoyment at all so I understand the perspective but at the same time they are such an absolute blast with a good team it makes me wonder how willing some have been to actually give it a proper shot.

The issue I have with rampages is the lack of difficulty which just makes them very boring.. I think it's impossible to fail these. Even playing with friends is OK for one hunt every once in awhile, but doing any more than that is a hard pass for me.
