...Don't think I've heard the theme during the final bosses, I mean, MAYBE Ibushi just because of the Rampage setting. I'm pretty sure it plays during those modes in general, don't think I've heard it during Narwa.

New event quest? Keep em coming. One a week means we should have a few dozen added by the end of the year.
As for Proof of a Hero, I can't be sure it was Ibushi or Narwa, but I know for sure it kicked in when I was playing one of them. Think it was Ibushi but again, can't say for sure.. Whether that's just a rampage thing, or an Ibushi or Narwa thing, I cannot say. I haven't heard it since. But I do know it's in the game and kicks in for one of those Quests. I would prefer it gets added to the BGM customization list. Would love to play it in the Gathering Hall.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Probably Ibushi, because I think the theme plays when that gong thing is activated.
That said...how long did it take in World until the crazy big collab events came in? Just wondering....I really hope Rise does something like this, a couple of new guest monsters would be nice.
still hoping for Ridley...

...I just remembered...you think this game will get subspecies once the expansion happens? Like...when Generations/Ultimate happened, Deviants basically replaced subspecies. The only ones that were in the game were actually rare species (Gold and Silver), I'm starting to worry that the same will happen here with Apexes. I really hope I'm wrong, I miss subspecies...and I hope ones that didn't return in Iceborne for some weird reason will show up as well.
Seriously...ICEborne, why wasn't Jade Barroth in this? lol
I also miss Sand Barioth, that was a fun fight, especially in G-Rank where he started spitting out little dust devils that wandered the area during the fight.

Can I ask what gear people are using for the Gunlance? jumped on that bandwagon and been messing around with the Gunlance since last week, lots of fun!
See this is why I need to get GU i don't know all the old game stuff, or monster's, I want to have my own thoughts on subspecies, I just need it to go on sale!
But one Subspecies I hate (the most LOL) is Green narg, never played it but I heard about it and ya.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@TeeJay
Let me know your thoughts on the Protective Polish skill after you get some hunts under your belt with it. I’ve been curious about it but I wasn’t sure if it was worth using because you would need Lv. 3 to last 90 seconds, and even with speed sharpening I wasn’t sure if I would keep that up. Razor Sharp 3 basically doubles your sharpness bar length, so a 100% increase. If protective polish can beat that (PP3 would require sharpening every 3 minutes to = RS3, and if you sharpen more than that it’s a better skill, while if you sharpen less frequently than that it’s a worse skill). Question really comes down to, how frequently are you willing to sharpen in your given play style.
Maybe I’ll just try it.
As for Guard, I’ve found Guard 3 to be sufficient. Granted, Guard Up is also nice for reducing damage, but even against Apex monsters Guard 3 has worked for me. Definitely worth giving one or two points up to gain in another area.
I don’t use handicraft for Nargacuga GL, for obvious reasons, but for Rakna Kadaki, which is arguably the best gunlance in the game, I do use one deco of Handicraft to compliment Razor Sharp 3 and Speed Sharpening 3. It seems to add just enough white sharpness, which, when doubled by the Razor Sharp 3 skill, provides sufficient sharpness to last an entire round with a monster without dipping into green, or if you do, it’s not by much.
So the thing about the gunlance is, it eats through sharpness FAST. So a 100% increase on what looks like decent white sharpness on any other weapon actually is more the equivalent of doubling a tiny sliver of white on other weapons. In those situations of tiny slivers of white, you would usually forego Razor Sharp in favor of Protective Polish, yeah?
In my opinion, the combination of Protective Polish 3 and Speed Sharpness 3 makes it so that you can just go ham on the monster, and while you may slip into blue sharpness a bit at the first minutes of the hunt, as the hunt goes on and the monster begins to flinch more, or become tired, trip and fall, etc. Thanks to Speed Sharpening 3 it would take no time at all to reset that 90 second timer anyway.
So in my opinion Protective Polish wins over Razor Sharp for gunlance.
@TeeJay Ah to be fair I am using the same. I ought to get around to bothering with the decorations.
I felt a little guilty at picking up the Gunlance, it always looked fun but I didn't want to betray the Lance which was my first love, luckily enough they are quite different in the end.
My goal with this game is to be proficient at 7 of the 14 weapons, if I can do that I will be happy... for some reason.
Most variants I've dealt with are just...the same monster with one new move or something, and Apex monsters just feel lazy to me...I'd rather just have Deviants back instead.

I like subspecies. I like variants. I like them all. Apexes are way cooler than any subspecies though.
Obviously I'd prefer to have all different monsters over subspecies but that's probably not going to happen since Ultimate editions always add some subspecies and/or variants.
Azure Rath, Pink Ian, Silver Los and Gold Ian, those are a must. Beyond that, I enjoyed Sand Barioth, Green Nargacuga, Purple Ludroth, Lucent Nargacuga, and so many more. As long as it's a good mix of new monsters and subspecies it'll be fine by me.

Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)

I just want the ones that change things up...Stygian Zinogre has the more random-like dragon orbs (whatever they're called), plus I like his weapons. Sand Barioth has the tornadoes, Lucent because I'm sick of Gold/Silver at this point, lol. But Lucent has the poison spikes and the invisibility, Molten Tigrex although not that big of a change, it ended up being my favorite Tigrex.
