Hey Jay! In his recent MH Rise journal, said his faint counter is up to double digits now, and he's not even to 6 star village Quests yet. Or, he just unlocked it.
His World faint counter was far lower, and that was his first MH game. Yet he's struggling more with Rise in low rank, despite being more experienced now.

@Ulysses Well I have kinda been playing both at the moment, I will go back and forth, and if they show when 3.0 is coming then i'm going to be all over rise for a bit. I just really love MH right now.
Rise was also kicking my butt in low rank towards the end as well...I keep telling people, the monsters here put up a better fight than World. World for me was a snooze-fest when it came to difficulty/challenge.

I'm not an advanced user for the gunlance, even though I'm good with it. That said, yeah the controls have changed quite a bit over the generations, in Rise the changes come from World. I think the thrust + thrust + overhead smash was removed since now there are tons of ways to do the overhead smash now. Infinite shelling, I'm not sure...if it's still there then yeah it was changed as well.

Ya I agree, rise monster's are no pushover's, If this is it now H rank will be hell LOL. I feel like Magmalalo was only hard bc of his stupid Hit boxes, I would get hit and I would be no were near the guy, so ya he make's nerg look easy.

Oddly enough, Diablos for me was super easy in World. Anjanath, he was just infuriatingly annoying in World. Whenever his throat was heated up, he would poof out flames after every attack...even while guarding with the gunlance, this would still hit me. I'm just glad they removed this in Rise...
Similar situation with Rathalos, I use the Gunlance so when I try to block his attacks, he still knocks me down, picks me, and tosses me around. Of course with how World works, my character will just lay there for a few seconds waving at Rathalos before finally deciding to get up to run...if he hasn't already combo'ed me at that point. >_>

We took on Apex Mitzu, which was a first for me. Boy it hits hard but that was a fun fight.
As for Rise monsters vs World's, I continue to be baffled as to how you guys had no issue with World's BS (for example Diablos, what? Diablos can legit go to hell) but have issues with Rise's versions of them. I've had the complete opposite experience in every aspect. Even with all this new content in 2.0 I've yet to come across anything I'd consider truly difficult.
But World was a struggle probably starting in the High Rank end game with the stupid Kirin quest you needed to do to unlock HR. Even with the best armor available at that point completely maxed out, with elemental res as high as I could gem in and eat for, I was still getting two shotted. I eventually had to go unlock the thunder mantle and only then did the damage become somewhat reasonable, but only for as long as the mantle was available of course.
And then time and again World kept throwing out nonsense that just did way too much damage or had one hit kills like behemoth or safi, or dps checks like Alatreon.
Also side note as a World bow main, arrows bouncing on half the post game monsters entire bodies except the head was not ok.
@Ulysses I noticed that to, when I was fighting bazel this morning, I was like "Man is it me or is fighting bazel feel less like a tight room" and that was a issue I think world has, not giving you the space you need when your fighting a big ass monster like rajing, is just painful, or fighting in a tight space with narg (Total hell btw), So i'm glade rise fixed this issue as monster's like to fight you and very open spaces.

If anyone doesn't have the Feather of Mastery yet (gotten by beating each arena quest with each weapon), I highly recommend you do so as soon as possible (it not only allows +1 carve for each monster, but also an extra carve for tails as well — yes, that includes Ibushi and Narwa).

@Joeynator3000 Yeah, it's all of them (most were my first time using that particular weapon in Rise too) xD
@Northwind My number of B's says rank doesn't matter. xD
And I care more about the extra tail carve (rare mats are usually 3x more likely in the tail than the monster — so that now becomes 6% chance for gems, and orbs) since I can just hop on an expedition, cut a tail, carve (and carve again), then leave. xD
