@AlternateButtons I actually found the walking minigame in Snow Kingdom easier than the one in Sand Kingdom. If you walk slowly, you don‘t slide and the triangle is much easier to pull off than a circle. Well, with the circle, you need to watch the cacti and such and remember whether they‘re to your left or right. Overall, I haven‘t found neither all that difficult, especially compared to most other minigames, which despise with a burning passion.

@Late It's honestly not that bad. Patience is more important than anything else. But yes, having a few extra lives on hand doesn't hurt. A game over sets you back on Delfino Plaza, meaning you have to do the Yoshi thing again, and that's the worst part IMO. Once you're in the level, it's not that hard if you take it easy.
I have got about 70 something moons so far. I am feeling a bit underwhelmed.
I think I much prefer the structure of Galaxy and Galaxy 2. Those games seem to always be using new ideas.
This game the capture mechanic hasn't been that enjoyable for me. My favorite so far was the stretching caterpillar things that let you go around corners and such.
Power moons are sort of feeling like Korok seeds at the moment to me. If zelda was pretty much just about collecting Korok seeds it would be a lame game. The kingdoms themselves are not too vast and have not really impressed me. I prefer my Mario game to feel like I am playing levels that offer challenges while this is just feeling like a collectathon with very little challenge so far. Collecting itself is not an enjoyable challenge for me.
I don't have that joy and that constant urge to play the game to see what's next. It's basically just been collect moons that are everywhere so that you can collect more moons. Boss fights haven't been that memorable or fun yet.
@Octane YMMV, I guess. I've found the koopa races to be cake, and the volleyball/jumprope challenges aren't too bad. The lily pad level LOOKS easy, but it's rage-inducingly difficult for some reason: I burned through 20 lives the last time I tried to clear that level. And I just can't get a handle on the pachinko level. The physics feel broken.
I haven't found a genuinely rage inducing moon yet.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
I don’t know if anybody tested this yet and if anybody is interested but I’m currently testing out if the moon count can go off screen by collecting as many moons as possible in an area and than traveling to the next area by painting.
Don’t know why but I’m curious.
Although I don’t know if I can make it. I’m not missing a lot of moons and accidentilly turned in 60 moons at the odyssey. Don’t ask me why.
If anyone else wants to try this be my guest, but please credit me if you decide to post the evidence anywhere, that would make me a little happy 😊
P.S. this can only be tested post game due to the moon count being seperate per kingdom before finishing the game.
P.P.S. I hope nobody considers this a spoiler. I myself do not and didn’t think a spoiler tag was necessary (and I don’t know how spoiler tags work on mobile. Sorry)
@Ralizah I think the reason why I prefer those levels in sunshine over the mini games in Odyssey is that you don't have to play perfectly, in Sunshine, to get the Shine Sprites. There are different ways of tackling the levels, and you can even fix small mistakes if you're good enough. I feel that in order to win the second races, or to beat the jump rope, there's only one way: playing it perfectly, no mistakes allowed, and no creative freedom. There's only one route that's the fastest, and you better master those jumps and other tricks.
I have Mario wearing the boxer shorts + cowboy hat because it looks funny. So my playthrough of the game looks like Mario is a stripper that fell for the bride at the bachelorette party and is trying to stop the wedding to run of with her LOL.
These pretzels are making me thirsty

@AlternateButtons any bowser amiibo reveals purple coin locations with the exception of skylanders bowser and dark bowser. Otherwise if you have a strong memory or patience I would recommend using a guide.
Made it to Bowsers Kingdom. I guess I was having so much fun I didn't realize I had already beaten so many worlds.
I'm just glad to hear they're so much post game content to look forward to, and, more challenging at that.

@darkswabber It caps at 150, and then you get a little ellipsoid. Already tested it myself.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@Octane I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. There are a ton of creative ways to beat the races. Have you tried the Sand Kingdom's yet, or the Lost Kingdom ? There are a handful of ways to tackle the race effectively.
Also speaking of the Lost Kingdom race, I'm top 400 in the world, woo! (I'm sure I'll lose that status as more people play the race though, ha ha. The fastest time is still 10 seconds ahead of me.)

@MasterWario I think I'm around 500th in the Mushroom Kingdom one.
It's nice not to think, "there are literally hundreds of thousands of people in the world better than me at this" for once.
Anyway, I beat the game! I really liked everything about the ending until the vaguely pop-punk tune started playing and it all became very Sonic Adventure 2. Which is not inherently a bad thing, as I quite like that game, but it felt really jarring in a Mario game. And then there was something about the ending movie that irked me too (not to try and sound too negative). After the epic and somewhat touching ending of Galaxy, having Odyssey finish with the visual gag of Mario and Bowser thrusting flowers at Peach just felt a little stale and underwhelming. Maybe I'm just a grump no sense of humour.
Anyway, now the game REALLY starts! I picked up 120 stars in the Mushroom Kingdom, and having investigated the older Kingdoms, it seems there'll be plenty, plenty more to track down.
I know I've posted a lot just recently, but if you guys are having trouble with the races I wonder how you'll fair with one of the rooms in Dark Side. Dear me, I'm surprised I actually beat it! Anyone else do that one yet?
@BLP_Software how'd you fair? The second P-Switch is nuts, I had to dive to get momentum, was the only thing that worked for me.
@Maxz Nice! Haven't tried that one yet, maybe I'll try and beat ya.

@MasterWario OOOh the one that originally used a motor scooter? yeah that one...yeah. Took a handful of tries. Long jump into a triple jump did it for me.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
SPOILERS, I completed the game and have 800+ moons.
Today I finished the Jumprope 100 and the Volleyball 100.
Now I've completed 8 worlds 100%.
I also got all purple coins, I only needed to use Bowser amiibo once in the Forest area because I couldn't find the last 3 coins (they were in the room with the beanstalk.)
Now I open my sealed Dr. Mario amiibo just for this game. I need the doctor outfit for a mission on the moon but don't want to spend gold coins if I don't have to. I already spent more than 20.000 coins just for the Skeleton Outfit, the Gold and Metal Mario outfit, the Wedding Outfits, the Japanese outfit, and the Waluigi outfit.
I was able to unlock Classic Mario, Luigi, Diddy Kong, and Wario outfits with my amiibos. It's a shame Bowser Jr. doesn't function like Bowser. And no Peach, Rosalina, Bowser Jr., or Yoshi dress. :/
Oh, yeah, I have 850+ moons, without counting the few ones I accidentally/curiously bought multiple times.
I also have solved many of the picture riddles, even the one in the desert. I found it when I looked closer at the pic, although it still wasn't very clear and I was just trying stuff. I think the only one still missing is the one that reads "KEEP" from the Beach stage.
Now, I've question for the Dinosaur land stage. There's two blocks of stones I want to destroy. The first one is at the bridge with the spikey rainbowcolored enemies. The T-Rex can't break it for whatever reason. The second set of stones is on the top of the mountain, but I can't get the T-Rex up there. I tried everything. The 3 floating platforms, the trampolines, destroying everything. I cannot find a way to jump up there with the trampolines... and I couldn't find anything else. A hint someone?
I have a new most frustrating / hardest mission as well, the second set of Seal Racing is brutal.
@SKTTR On the top of the waterfall? There should be two Chain Chomp you can capture. Took me a while but I eventually did it, even without the whole knocking one chomp into the other nonsense. Don‘t know about the bridge, though. Also the second Bound Bowl track in S Class, right? Took me a while to beat that but if you‘re having issues, I‘d recommend playing that in handheld mode, helps pulling off them bounces.

The Chain Chomps don't reach the set of fossil blocks (the one with the 4 coins on top of it, probably the highest spot in that stage).
Anyway, I didn't have to bring the T-Rex, I just had to wear a certain costume. :/
I'm still curious about those two destroyable sets of blocks but the game makes it impossible to reach them with the T-Rex or Chain Chomp.
With second set I mean the longer course that is in a cave in the NE of the map.
Even the A-Class is pretty hard. (I guess I was lucky beating Class A and S on the first course).
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't need to play in handheld mode as my HDTV has no lag. (I wouldn't buy a hdtv with lag, that would be a worthless investment.)
Also, I'm 880 Moons in, and scrolling through my lists, I've only 5 stars left:
2 from the Polar Kingdom, the 2 long course races, Class A, then S.
2 from the Luncheon Kingdom, the 2 Koopa races.
1 from the final stage. (haven't started it yet)
I try to get those final 5 stars tomorrow. Good night.
Ah well, I still have two more questions:
1. I think I have all Outfits and Hats, however it seems that a few don't come in a set, is that true or am I missing the other clothes?
2. In the church entry hall, there's two big pictures. One where you can fight Bowser and see the ending/credits again, and another empty frame on the opposite wall. What's up with that?
