"Korok seeds" like things work better in a platformer than in an adventure game, so in my opinion even "korok seeds like" moons are better in Mario than actual korok seeds in Zelda.
And I don't feel the need to find every single moon honestly. I just want to do my best and find every moon I can, after that I'll feel ok about my play

I just discovered an interesting way to enter the Odyssey. Press ZL while standing on top of the pipe blowing steam at the back. I guess that makes 3 entrances, unless someone has found another one.

So originally I wasn’t a massive fan of Jump Up, Super Star song as it’s not my type of music. But now I’m at a part when it plays in the background and I can’t stop humming it. I’m actually a good trumpet player, maybe I should learn to play the song haha.

Considering that the moons are basically gas, I am not bothered by their placement so far. and some are in weird places which makes me give the occasional "heh, didn't expect that". I don't think I've slept since Friday. Just got a coworker to buy a switch as well.

It seems that I am the only one here who finds Korok seeds quite fitting for an open-world Zelda. I discover new surroundings just for my research interest and get a seed as a reward. By the way they are purely optional and not essential for the game, just for "100%".

In SMO the moons are not optional and, in fact, the whole point in playing the levels. Therefore, the comparison is not very good. However, I was also surprised how cheap some moons were. I think that they should have included more multimoons in the game

So I finally got my preorder today and I'm having a lot of fun. Split Joy-Cons also feels much more responsive than Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuk did for Wii games so while I understand the frustration with not being able to 100% the game with the pro controller, it doesn't particularly affect me.

@Chandlero Exactly! That‘s what I‘ve been pointing out ever since this whole discussion started. Power Moons are the whole focus of the game so it‘s no surprise they are more varied than the Korok Seeds, which were an optional side thing you‘re supposed to pick up here and there during your travels and thus, received less focus and little variety in tasks. This, of course, has made them a pain for completionists.

@Chandlero I liked the Korok seeds, as I felt like they rewarded exploration and paying attention to one's environment. Then again, I didn't go out of my way to collect hundreds of them, so that probably has something to do with it, too.

The types of activities you engage in to get moons are way more varied, though. As they should be, as moons are much more central to the Mario Odyssey experience than Korok seeds are to the BotW experience.

So...has anyone read the Waluigi outfit description yet? Year of Waluigi, please! You know you want to Nintendo!

I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke!

Protip for anyone struggling to get 100 points in the beach volleyball mini-game: switch to two player mode, move Mario off the court, and use Cappy to hit the ball. Makes it so much easier.

People seem to be misunderstanding the comparison. They're both way too numerous, and can be frustrating to collect them all. Doesn't matter if one is for progress or not. The point is, there's wayyyyyyyy more than anyone would ever need and only the fewest of the few will truly enjoy collecting whatever ridiculous amount is in the game.

-That is how they are similar.

That moment when you find 65 Moons in one go... The list of Moons on the left side looks ridiculous.

@Operative2-0 But that’s the point. Most people will just complete the game, but some like me want a challenge to collect everything 😉

I thought I was being facetious when I joked to a friend that the final 500 Moon unlock was The Darker Side of the Moon. I was unknowingly right

Okay, so remember how I almost did the Jump Romp Challenge with 96 this morning? Well, I decided to go through all those blasted minigames before doing anything else. Next up? Volleyball. Guess how many I got on my first trial? 99. But I‘m done, I am done for today. Besides, Volleball seems A LOT easier to me. All you gotta do is stand in the middle and throw Cappy. Now watch me be horrible at it tomorrow!

@BLP_Software That was so disappointing... I anticipated the path going down again to Earth(?) to a new (nostalgia) Kingdom, Delfino Kingdom anyone? More grey, boring moonscapes wasn't the thing I was looking forward to, to be honest.

@Tsurii The S Class? Just beat that on my third attempt

@GoldenGamer88 I'm assuming they mean the second track, not just the harder version of the first track.

@Octane To be fair, most of the Darker Side doesn't actually take place on the moon's surface.

Does anyone know how to change the photo mode to display portrait instead of landscape? I'm trying to make a nice wallpaper for my phone.

@Tsurii I honestly have no idea. All I know is that you build up speed by pressing B when you hit the ground, or at least something to that effect. Well that, and the guy right behind me bounced high into the air, earning me the victory. All I was doing is built up speed, cut the flat corners and take the slanted ones for more speed.

Just finished the main story.

And the ending cut scene was one of the greatest things I've ever seen in video games.
