I am in the process of downloading Superstars, I dunno whether Nintendo have throttled me or something, but my downloads on the Switch went from slow to REALLY slow. I seem to have problems every time I try to play pretty much anything online on the Switch - except Rise for some reason, never had an issue with Rise - so I'll have to see how this goes. If anyone does bump into me in this game (if it even works that way) I probably didn't leave, I was probably kicked by NSOs awful infrastructure.
Local communication multiplayer was a bit laggier than I expected. Nothing unplayable, but I did notice a few hiccups there and there. Hopefully that’s something they can fix with software updates.
...I really hope they expand on this, give us more maps, or characters. Free or paid, guess I won't care too much, as long as it's not pricey. Also you'd think Miis would be an option here, lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I only got respectful opponents without spamming anything. Even choosing random when stealing stars or coins at Boo when it's a tie, even though there's a obvious choice. It feels like playing with friends where no one wants to anger anyone. 😂
Oh and if the stamp thing annoys you. There's still the option to turn it off. In the options and in game.
Played my first board against the CPUs with a mix of difficulties, just to cut my teeth. Can't work out if I had a good time or a horrible time, lol. The difficulty for the CPUs almost didn't really matter, as there is so much randomness in almost everything, it is all luck and no real skill. Maybe the minigames require some skill, but even there, the CPU on hard didn't just absolutely ream us.
This on the one hand can make things really dynamic and fun, but it can also make things super frustrating too lol I tried to mount a comeback, as I was in second place and just had no way to really do so, as you have no real control.
I am quite surprised by the overall level of polish this has, too. Maybe it shouldn't be a surprise for a first party game, but man, this is a pretty looking game, really nice variety in the minigames and stuff, it collects like loads of data on your performance and gives you a little screenshot to go with your matches. There is even a progression system of a sort in customising your player card, if that is your thing.
Can see myself dipping in and out of this a lot, for a board or two.
@Pizzamorg
It's Mario Party it's always pretty random. Except 9 and 10, they were pretty much 99% random.
It really depends what board you're playing. Peach's Birthdaycake for example is the most luck based board. Woody Woods on the other hand can get pretty tricky.
You should always have the right items on hand. With a Cursed Dice you can force a player to land on a certain field or hinder him to reach a star on time. You can even use it on yourself. I used it when I was before a Boo and I didn't want to reach him just now. Because I knew a player was about to get a star next turn (and then I steal it afterwards). Most people and CPU don't think you have a plan and don't counter your strategy.
You can make the best out of the luck based gameplay. Increase your chances.
And you can still use classic bonus stars. You can try to win them all. If I'm not mistaken the player who won the most Minigames gets a star.
I dont even know why I care to play online at all if everyones just always leaving. People on Nintendo consoles have a different mindset I guess. I didnt chose to play online in order to play with bots. Just a bit sad I cant get a game finished with 3 players present.
I can't even get a playable lag free game with strangers. 😕 Don't know why games like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2 run fine every time but other games like this have so many problems.
I can't imagine getting a Mario Party if you don't have specific people to play with tbh. I don't know why people would play Mario Party with strangers.
@kkslider5552000
I will get back to you after I do it tonight lol
I'm mostly going to play with my wife, but I think online is still gonna be fun. I just like the competition in the mini games, really. The early board game stuff is so random anyway.

I bought this to play with my parents, but played some solo games just to get a feel of what the game is so I can explain to my folks how to play. While the core game is robust and fun, like this can get surprisingly intense and competitive against the CPU, I can imagine this game just overall is much better with people you know. The game has so much downtime with you just sat there waiting for the CPU to do things, that it can kill a lot of the momentum and excitement the game can have. I am worried if I speed it up, I'll lose the narrative of the game. I kinda wished they'd put like an info list in a corner or something, so I can skip through their turn and it just documents what happened 'Peach rolled a 7, went to shop and bought a mushroom' or whatever.
I doubt this is as much of an issue when playing with people you know, as you'll all be invested in each other, you aren't just waiting for the CPU to finish it's scripting so you can have another go.
In terms of online, I literally cannot find a game, no matter what I do. However, aside from Rise which I have had no issues with, the online multiplayer has never worked on any of the games I have tried to play on my Switch.
