I grew up with MP1, 2 and 3, and the chance to experience them again revamped was just awesome. Considering how rich those boards were, and the uniqueness of the minigames.
Even though I'm not as avid a gamer as I once was, MP is my #1 multiplayer (and I've packed more than 100 hours for Super Mario Party with friends and family).
But the terrible dragging point of SMP was how repetitive it was to only have 4 boards. I had decided not to purchase the next MP in protest. Now they have upgraded it to... 5? And these are previously existing boards, so it's not like they didn't have more to choose from and then remaster...
Just laziness, unless they are planning to add more for free further down the road, as they just announced for Mario Golf Switch.
Yeah they need to go back to 6 as a standard. Also because it means one of these three games will only get one board if they don't (imagine if the Peach cake is the only MP1 board lol).
Yeah this is gonna be almost completely different from Super Mario Party, with the classic board style and minigames and do not require motion controls or other gimmicks at all.
Also, the main graphic on the eShop shows a different game board that I don't think I've ever seen...?
And, checking again, the minigames come from across the series, not just the first 3 games, so we may actually see some overlap with Mario Party The Top 100.
Still worried that they'll somehow find a way to ruin it all but the return to the classic Mario Party style with old maps should ensure that it's at least better than the last few games which have been terrible.
So far it just looks like classic Mario Party, no cars, no motion controls...just...classic...N64-era Mario Party. Also one of the boards is a giant cake, which is a plus for me. lol
The only thing "new", since this is based on the N64 games, are the playable characters. Even though they've been in past games already, but yeah.
Pretty excited for this one! I know there's gonna be 5 boards from the N64 games, but I'm kinda wondering if there's gonna be any boards from the GameCube entries. I'm sure we'll find out once we get closer to its release date.
