Just had a thought: Anybody here play the original WaveRace waaaaaaaaay back on GameBoy?
I bought it last year and have played hours and hours of it. It's fun, but daaaaang it's tough. I cannot beat the 800cc levels on the international tours for the life of me, and I'm a pretty good gamer (lol).
I've done some research into it, and some people think the AI is nigh unbeatable on the higher levels, especially for the races. The slalom competition is more doable, but it's still a huge challenge.
@FishyS
It’s very fun! It’s a top-down perspective and they did a great job with the physics. You can’t help yourself do race or slalom mode. The AI is BRUTAL, though.
@FishyS I have. It's nothing special. Honestly there is almost nothing to say about it but it was impressive for the system but not compared to games more broadly.
@Polvasti If you get a chance to play the 64 or GameCube game you might enjoy it. Iam not a big racing person either, but those games were fun because the waves made things chaotic.
I think that's always implied but it doesn't hurt to note how bad games are made now when they're not indie darlings or absolutely masterclass huge games like Elden, Breath or Red dead
For some reason Nintendo's neglected this game and 1080s. snowboarding, we should have had a remake by now, especially since switch 2 is here now. I guess we're not going to see these games again.
I think games were more fun back in the day, although technically they're they're very good now, I don't think they're as much fun.
@zool Nintendo avoids remaking games that are already on NSO meanwhile 1080 Avalanche has licensed music. I think new game like they did with Kirby Air Riders last year is the way they’d go.
@zool This is such a garbage argument. Nearly every first party game from all major hardware developers is near $70. Most of the reviews are in the 8-9/80-90 range on MetaCritic with a 79 overall. Those reviews are fine.

You call it garbage. I would call it a personal opinion.
There is a lot of disappointment with the switch. 2. I'm playing tomb raider definitive edition and I'm enjoying that on the switch. 2. But I'm enjoying it because it was only £20 ($27). I've watched a few comparison sites where it's nowhere near as good as the PlayStation version. Lots of stuff had to be cut out of it so that it could run on switch 2. If a game doesn't seem to be worth the price, I don't buy it regardless of what game it is. I can afford to pay high prices for games but then that's not value for money.
