Just a curiosity, i noticed the charging cable has a seperate usb-c cable now so was wondering if in theory it would be possible to buy a compatible longer cable for it to make it easier to play via AC while on bed or sofa (since a longer looser one will mean less pull on it and less danger of it wiggling out or damaging the port when moving)
if so just curious if there are any recommended brands or types since im relatively unfamiliar to USB-C due to not having a mobile device or whatnot and want to make sure what im using wont damage the system.
thought it best asked than googled since google can be a nightmare of misinformation nowadays and ai didnt help.
@Pizzamorg I'm agree with you - all the games available right now that show that next gen leap (like Cyberpunk) have already been out for awhile and still play much better on other systems. With that being said, I just spent 4 hours playing BOTW at 4K60 and man it's a game changer.
On another note, I decided to turn off HDR and 120 FPS - I heard that the HDR support in Handheld was poor and I doubt there's going to be a lot of games with 120 FPS support - I believe even the PS5 struggles with this. I'm hoping this helps me conserve some battery life in handheld mode.
Sigh.. Target briefly had some selling at 6 am for their online kickoff but they were sold out by the time I finished checking out. Now apparently sold out both online and in person in all Targets within 50 miles.
@NinChocolate
thanks, yeah 3 meters should be good for getting from the outlet to the sofa or bed while still keeping loose enough to avoid tugging or straining the end in the top of the switch.
its also nice that theres one on top since having it poking out the bottom like with switch 1 would often end up putting pressure on it when holding it since the system would be close to the chest or lap which was why i didnt really play switch 1 using the adaptor in handheld.
@Pizzamorg although if I'm honest I'm not blown away by the open world either (it's quite fun but now wowing me), I don't for a second think any of this would've been possible on the original Switch. The races themselves have twice the drivers, more detail than ever, while visually managing to surpass MK8 which was arguably the best looking Switch game to begin with. Then there's the seamless open world with all it's detail, running at 60 fps (I don't think we got any open world games running so well on the Switch, did we?)
Idk, to me Mario Kart has always been a showcase of new hardware, but in a more iterative sense (rather than anything revolutionary). I get it's not quite BotW level but I do believe it to be a great showcase of the hardware.
I seriously cannot game with the Switch 2 in handheld, my wrists and hands start to ache really quickly. I'm really disappointed because I don't have this issue with my Switch OLED or Steam Deck. Has anyone had the same experience? Hopefully a grip will fix it?
@tangeraniummm It is too heavy to be a handheld I am finding. Bit sad about that. If they come out with a Switch 2 lite, I will sell this and get that. I only play in handheld anyway. I hope to get used to it, but I don't like the feel of it compared to Switch just now.

Yeah I guess that is all fair, I guess if this same open world tech had been used but instead for a new Zelda or a new Xenoblade to launch with the system I'd be more impressed with it.

Same actually, the cramp kicked in super fast in handheld. I just figured it was a me issue, but maybe it isn't. I haven't really experienced anything like it, but I've also not played a game in handheld in months so I thought my hands might just need to get used to it again.
@FishyS yes the best buy near me is sold out right now…I keep checking stock online, no idea when they’ll get more in, but I want the Non Bundle Console and then I’ll buy Street Fighter 6 digitally..

I've been in several stores including best buy the last few days, as well as calling and tracking online. When asked, the people working in the store say they have zero idea when they will get more.
Still waiting on mine. Should be here in the next couple hours hopefully! Quick question. Can i copy over saves but still leave my original saves on my OG switch? I'm planning on playing BOTW and TOTK in glorious 4K and checking out that Zelda notes thing for finding koroks. Before i was using YouTube guides like some gamer from the stone age. This should be interesting.
I have the original switch from release still, will I notice a good upgrade with the screen? Can see some people aren’t impressed who have the oled version
Ok so I have no impulse control and decided to set my switch 2 up in handheld mode before I pack it away. Wow the eshop is snappy. My original plan had been to keep buying on the switch because that’s where my storage space is but wow this is beyond easier to navigate. And a my only gripe with the eshop was my wishlist would crash often. Not anymore.
The system itself feels very nice. The larger screen is a boon for me but the system still feels light but sturdy. I’m trying not to use it too much because i still have to set up my OLED but I am impressed so far. Its audio is rich and has depth and the joycons 2 feel really nice and with smooth movement. I will most certainly be putting it through its paces when I add it to my tv in a few months.

Hey guys quick question. If i Don't do the transfer does that mean i won't be able to play digital Games on my switch 2 that were downloaded on my original switch? Will i lose access to my library unless I'm playing them on the original?
I've heard it's a pain if you don't just transfer at the initial setup but not sure i want to. I'd really rather just transfer my saves if that's possible.
Do i need two separate accounts or can my switch 1 and 2 be on the same account?
@Truegamer79 This is what Virtual Game Cards are for.
If you transfer your account, everything moves over, however unlike with other platforms and their transfers, it's not deleted from your previous system.
So once you transfer to Switch 2, your games and account also stay on Switch, and you just move Virtual Game Cards around.
