So had a look at the stock situation again in Aus for those curious about how things played out here. I know some people were speculating it somehow wasn't as popular given pre-orders were still up. Seems completely sold out as of yesterday. Sites currently have pre-orders open for the second shipment which seems to be either for the 16th or the 20th. The Pro Controller is in the same situation. I don't remember this being how it played out for Switch, 3DS or Wii U. Seems to be more demand here
Also when I went to pickup my pre-order in the afternoon there were a dozen other consoles sitting behind the counter ready to go at this store. And it's just a suburban store, has a fair catchment I guess but it's not like it's a super busy store in the middle of the city or something. So fair to say that it's not a supply issue, it's a demand issue

Bros it’s taking forever for the gamecube nso player to download. Significantly longer than downloading on switch 1 is anyone else having this problem?
Wondering why Nintendolife isn't reporting on Nintendo offering free Joycon-2 repairs. The Joycon-2 apparently use the same sticks as the original Joycon, which means that they're going to eventually drift apparently.

@VoidofLight
I'm not convinced they'll be as bad as the original JoyCon. The Switch Pro Controller used the same kind of sticks as the JoyCon but I ended up with two JoyCon having drift issues and my launch week Pro Controller, which I used significantly more because I only had one, never had issues
The Switch 2 JoyCon appear to be bigger, smoother and a bit less "delicate" feeling than the original JoyCon. Less friction, more area required to wear, hopefully less issues? I don't think the existence of a free repair program is a bad thing here. Nor is the fact that it's using the same kind of tech as the originals. Because the tech itself was never really the issue with the Switch 1 JoyCon, at least not in terms of the significantly faster speed the degradation occurred, it was more the size of them

They don't sound too optimistic about them being drift-free, but time will tell as to how widespread a problem it's going to be. Hopefully it's a lot less than it's predecessor, at least.
For what it's worth, my Joy-Cons never drifted, but I had two separate Pro Controllers that did. There's a big element of luck of the draw in all this.
I feel like having a switch and switch 2 is the way to go with this system. My setup was so clean (no transfer) and it’s super easy to load my digital games onto switch 2. (Also have a better count. 679 digital games lol) also love that you can hide virtual game cards. I don’t have a ton of regret purchases but the few I do I don’t want near my sight.

I'm utterly overjoyed how good the Switch 2 is. It's uncluttered and everything is just much better than what I was hoping. How it feels, how it plays. Nintendo and NVidia have knocked it out of the park once again!

@FishyS yes the best buy near me is sold out right now…I keep checking stock online, no idea when they’ll get more in, but I want the Non Bundle Console and then I’ll buy Street Fighter 6 digitally.. While waiting, I started reading all sorts of things about games.... I came across an interesting https://portal.sacralium.game/article/mmorpg-kotorye-ne-oprav... article about MMORPGs that failed to live up to expectations. It's funny how many projects failed, although they promised a revolution. Reminds me of how sometimes you wait for a release - and then only disappointment
I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. Just wanted the console solo. Ended up using a stock tracker alert — finally grabbed one without the bundle
I'm watching Summer Games Fest just now. I expected I'd just skip through it for the highlights but it's just game after game after game. Some absolutely superb looking games. The highlight so far though has to be Felt That Boxing. It looks like Muppets Punch Out. The graphics are unreal. I really hope that comes to Switch 2.
The horror game ILL looks absolutely amazing. Wow. The monster designs are crazy.
@WoomyNNYes
Oh, since you already have Switch 2, have you tried to play ACNH on Switch 2?
I tried to watched from YouTube and it seems ACNH on Switch 2 still 30 fps.
Have you tested Pokemon Sword / Shield too?
@Anti-Matter Games locked to 30FPS are going to stay at 30, while games with uncapped FPS are going to go to 60. Animal Crossing New Horizons has faster load times though, so there's that.

Anyone else's Switch 2's getting warm to the touch? Or is it just me? I'm worried of inserting a physical game because even the game card slot's metal piece is warm to the touch as well. I don't want anything melting inside my console.

@NintendoByNature No Switch 2 port has been announced unfortunately. Very few games shown at the SGF included Switch 2. But then that's just been the way it is for Nintendo consoles for a lot of years now.
We're in a different club to the other guys. I imagine the Switch 2 gen will go much like the Switch one. It'll get lots of ports but they will be announced separately and arrive later.
@OorWullie Ha! Different club. That sums it up perfectly. Nintendo curate what they want to reveal / announce in Directs. Speaking of which, MAN I can't wait for the first (second? - Does the Mario Kart one count?) Direct of the Switch 2 era.
