I don't typically like horror myself. I skipped Cronos, will be skipping Fatal Frame II and if Silent Hill gets ported I'm definitely skipping that. Hated Evil Within and turned that crap off within the first half hour.

But Resident Evil is different for me. It's less "demonic" and more "zombies infected with virus". It's probably why I played, beat and enjoyed the first Last of Us game, because it also was less "demonic" and more "zombies infected with virus".

Even so, I prefer playing my RE games in handheld so it isn't so immersive. I beat Resident Evil Revelations on 3DS and loved it to death. Played RE Revelations 2 and RE5 on Switch in handheld and also loved them.

Remember trying RE7 in VR though, and much like Evil Within, dropped it with the quickness. Not for me.

Resident Evil is more about atmosphere and tension- but not super scary ghostly demonic crap. And it mixes action in to where it has a good balance and you're never truly terrified because you can fight back.

Hi all

Noted that Resi9 is a hot topic for Switch2… IMO a real milestone moment for the console, having the latest Resi entry at launch(!) alongside PS/XB…. And also being a remarkably good port

Really hope this sends a message to other third party devs, that S2 is definitely a huge market of potential - especially if optimisation is solid (look at FF7R and SW:Outlaws)

Currently I only have S2 and Steamdeck OLED, debating what platform to pop Requim on.

So far, from 20 mins research it would seem that S2 is actually coming out on top by some margin. Deck seems to be playable, at least from initial impressions, but the game seems to really sing on S2. I also like that I can easily dock the S2 (don’t have a dock for my deck)

Also, Spire 2 comes out on early access next week, and I’ll 100% be grabbing that on deck.

So - Resi on S2? Or deck?
