Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Thought that this was fun and decided to post it here.

I know Nintendo have always announced a Direct 24+ hours before, but is there a reason why that HAVE to?

Given they have done a few things different recently (paper mario announcement + a game reveal during a tree house) I wonder if all bets are off?

I recall Nintendo did shadow drop a normal direct in the past. I remember people complaining that they didn’t like it just suddenly being dropped because it ruined the suspense and they got news spoiled

This thread is like one of those doomsday cults that predicts the end of the world on a certain date, then the date goes by and they're like 'wait.. it's two weeks from now!"

Lots of disappointed people tomorrow saying "that's ok my backlog will keep me satisfied until 2050"

lol I appreciate the hyperbole, but seriously, between Switch and PC, my backlog probably could keep me satisfied until 2050 haha

@rallydefault if that were really true there wouldn't be a reason to check any videogame websites for news. You have too much to play as it is, no need to be tempted by further games. Plus you get to save lots of monies.

Well I'm hoping for something a little out there. Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Mario Allstars 2 are great and all, but I've played the games already. I'm hoping for something exciting like a new F-zero, Starfox, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Eternal Darkness, Endless Ocean, Project Zero, Power Stone, Advance Wars, Mario Strikers, Mario Golf, Sin and Punishment, 1080, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead, Shadows of the Damned, Jet Set Radio, or a new IP.

Or Bayonetta 3 footage would be nice. Bring back the hype train

@aquinas1776 I quite liked Zero but I played it through co-op with my wife, which helped. I was hoping we'd eventually get a treasure developed Starfox. But sadly I don't think that's likely to happen now.

No one expecting anything Kirby related ? Hal said they have big plans for the future of Kirby and after 4 games with the same formula I’d love having something fresh like a 2.5d / 3D game or if I’m dreaming an rpg. Kirby with its multiple copy abilities would translate very well to a jrpg I think.

@Duboiss That would be interesting but I don't know if Nintendo would be up for making one of their best selling series an rpg like they did with paper mario because if they were to use the same director for that game as Paper Mario CS and SS it would fail bad.

Direct Mini announced, will be exclusively 3rd party games and seemingly only previously announced titles.

Fully expecting a Doom Eternal date.
