Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

I personally believe that we will see another general Direct in mid September like usual with more news about the currently announced games, plus one or two others for 2026. Also, on a side note, according to a quick internet search, the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary Direct happened on September 3, 2020. This year is the 40th anniversary, so I'm positive that Nintendo will announce something involving Mario for his anniversary. Maybe a brief teaser trailer for a new 3D Mario for 2026? This is just speculation on my part.

@OctolingKing13 They will likely do something for the SMB 40th anniversary but it may be a Mario Direct in September like what they did in 2020. Nintendo Today info drops + Pokemon Presents + Prime 4 Direct + Partner Showcase + SMB 40th anniversary Direct could cover news for the rest of the year.

I'd imagine a SMB 40th anniversary Direct could look something like:

• SMB Wonder Switch 2 Edition
• Major content update or DLC for Mario Kart World
• A new or returning NSO game (e.g. NSO playtest if that had anything to do with Mario, return of SMB 35 in some form)
• Multiple additions to NSO Nintendo Classics
• Ingame events and merch (e.g. Tetris 99 events, F-Zero 99 event, Splatoon 3 Splatfest)
• Super Mario World (movie) debut trailer
• A brief teaser for 3D Mario with no release window (like what happened with Splatoon Raiders)

Beatemups is adamant that the next direct is next week, a day before DK comes out!!!!!!

Don't believe his lying heart for a second. He's just a clout goblin looking for clout in any form or fashion that he can get- just like any other Nintendo youtuber who has "insider sources." The guy is a known liar, and anyone who remembers his video on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would know that from a mile away. He's lying about having any insider information at all- just like how he lied about playing Xenoblade 2 for over 10 hours (he left his switch on so that he can say he did, while still being in the starting zone).

People kept saying "Oh, but Nintendo did a Direct a week before the Switch 2 direct, so they're unpredictable!" or "Nintendo revealed the Switch 2 right before Donkey Kong Country Returns HD came out, so therefore it isn't a stretch to get a direct the day before Bananza!" But to that I say, Country Returns HD wasn't a brand new game- while Bananza is being chalked up to be one of Nintendo's big flagship titles for the Switch 2's launch year. Not only that, but the Nintendo Direct that happened before the Switch 2 direct was clearly being done as a way to clean out any remaining announcements for the original Switch.

I wish people would think critically for a second instead of blindly hopping onto the hype train whenever someone who's completely random and unproven says something that isn't even remotely true. People hopped on SamusHunter the moment that they got the Monster Hunter leaks right.. without even looking into if those leaks were public information or not (they were). People hopped on the same train with PixelPar, when he was just calling random dates for the direct for attention- so that eventually he could found LootPots. People believed Midori when Midori only had a powerpoint of information that dried up relatively fast.

And most of the time, people don't learn. There are still people who count people like SamusHunter as credible leakers- despite the numerous times they have been wrong. It's just insane that we live in an age where no one critically thinks anymore- and those who do are the "bad guys" for ruining other people's fun.

@VoidofLight A day before DK makes absolutely no sense, this is the huge single player game of the Switch 2’s launch, I can’t see a huge Direct, the one he was talking about, happening the day before DK. Nintendo has done weirder, but that just makes no sense to me

I actually hadn't heard about the Direct the day before Bananza rumor until just now, and I just gotta say... some rumors sound like they might actually happen, and it's fun to speculate, but this is just some fake poop.

Yeah, the rumor was fake. Apparently it was a "joke" Beatemups made. Sounds like he's kinda walking back on his claims because he realized that if he makes something up and it doesn't happen, people are going to be upset (which let's be real, people would still call him a leaker and believe him even when it turned out to be fake. Just like they do with every other fake leaker).

Good catch, I was just trying to use a different word than the S word since I don't swear a lot. I have no personal vendetta against anyone who uses swear words, I just don't use them often. I did make one up on my own though: shoelaces. I sometimes use that as a swear word since I don't like tying them 😡.

Apparently, according to copyright filing, a DK Movie is in the works. I am still quite skeptical about a Nintendo Direct in July, but with this announcement in mind, next week might actually be good timing now. Reminding people of DK Bananza and officially announcing a DK movie in the same breath would just make too much sense! (or maybe not and I just want there to be a Direct next week haha)

@neo9eo I think the Donkey Kong movie could be based on the Donkey Kong arcade game and revealed during a 40th Mario anniversary direct since that is the game Mario debuted in. The copyright is Donkey Kong, but it doesn't necessarily have to be based on the Donkey Kong series. Pauline is getting a lot of light recently with Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, so I feel like it could make sense.

The only gamer on YT I watch is 'Happy Console Gamer', proper chilled dude, seems really authentic

@NintendoByNature Same. I don't really know how people can stomach the guy. His thumbnails are obnoxious, and he constantly lies to his own audience- much like other Nintendo youtubers.

@ThatOneLevel @VoidofLight @CJD87 he's really just an annoying clown. I barely watch YouTube anymore unless its something NL posts, switchup, or spawnwave. I watch rgt from time to time but he's getting ridiculous too. Dreamcastguy might even be the worst of the bunch.

@NintendoByNature Dreamcastguy went from being reasonable to falling into really huge Sony fanboy territory. The guy sold his girlfriend his PS5 when he bought a PS5 Pro.

@VoidofLight he's an odd ball. I used to watch some of his stuff for RE related videos or FF, but he's flat out unwatchable now. His thumbnails are by far the worst.
