@NintendoByNature SwitchUp is a great little channel actually. They do a great occasional segment "All Patched Up" where they revisit games that have had recent patches/updates, resulting in significant performance/graphical upheavals.
I like how they just speak 'normally' to the camera... it is the forced wackyness and high-energy of BeatEmUps I cannot stand
I wonder if Nintendo want to address the issue of bricking Switch 2 on next Nintendo Direct because of the dumped Switch 1 cartridge without acknowledge and it really harm the innocent customers who bought secondhand games.
If Nintendo just blindly punish innocent customers just like the game pirates without finding solution to give compensation, I cannot even defend Nintendo product because of that anti consumers policy. It just way beyond violations.
I found it difficult to believe that a direct would come before DKB, and now that Nate is claiming that one is coming later this month…seems more likely. Hopefully the rumor is true, really want some more release dates.
@IceClimbers Wouldn’t they have had a trailer for Metroid Prime 4, Kirby Air Riders, Hyrule Warriors (none of which have a release date), or Kirby Star-Crossed World within the past 2 weeks? They’ve been silent on pretty much any announcement after the DragXDrive release date announcement a few weeks ago. If Prime 4 is September, wouldn’t you think they’d announce the release date by now if they weren’t holding it for a Direct?
@PikminMarioKirby No not necessarily. They could do a Prime 4 Direct in early-mid August to take care of that game and then leave the rest for the usual September Direct.
It's all a waiting game at this point. While I believe Nate a lot more than average Joe leaker since he got the Switch 2 trailer date correct, I still believe that we may be waiting for September. I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong, though! I'll watch any Direct that comes out!

I'm guessing July 30 or 31. This week I'm sure they want to focus on getting people hyped for Donkey Kong Bananza. The next week is pokemon presents so I don't see them doing two directs in one week. So that leaves the very end of this month.
Did Nate specifically say the type of Direct or are people assuming it's a general Direct and at the end of July we find out it's actually something like a Partner Showcase?
I did think Prime 4 Direct made more sense for the end of July over Partner Showcase but shareholders seem more concerned about the idea of 3rd parties abandoning Switch 2 so maybe there does need to be 3rd party announcements before August 1st.
@Grumblevolcano He said he doesn't know the format of the direct and that it could be a regular one or a partner showcase. But all he said that he knows is it's after bananza in July
@IceClimbers Has a game specific Direct ever announced the release date of said game? That is something pretty much always announced at a general Direct/trailer for the game (or recently Nintendo Today!), before a potential game specific Direct.
Directs are also typically the last major ‘trailer’ of a game before the overview trailer (which rarely ever shows anything new), so it makes no sense to just suddenly get a Direct for the game with the release day and major marketing is over.
Kirby Star-Crossed World is in August, so it’d have to be outside of a Direct if we don’t get one until September. Air Riders and Hyrule Warriors will be major releases, so I doubt Nintendo will be willing to only have about 2 months of getting actual substantial gameplay of those games.
I think we’ll get a general Direct final week of July as the final general Direct of the year, and the September Direct is just the Mario 40th anniversary one.

I second this!
Well, it does depend on how hard they want to go for his 40th. The 35th was unusually big as things go but seeing how successful it was, it would be weird for them not to hold another event of a similar scale especially with the movie coming up.
@Anti-Matter
I know you're not going to see this but just to lay it out there. Four things:
1. Nintendo aren't addressing this in a Direct
2. It's an account ban, they aren't bricking consoles
3. If it happens to you Nintendo support has resolved it for the innocent party
4. Frankly, unpopular opinion time, the used market for games is kinda gross. Especially the speculation on pricing and grading BS. None of which goes to the people actually producing the content. Anything that takes some energy out of the used market, or any money shuffling markets really, and moves it back to people actually making stuff is a good thing

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Late to the party here haha, but as far as YT goes, I used to watch Nin10doland a ton and looking back, I cant understand why lol. He was as bad as beatemups clickbait-wise!
On the leaker side of things, Midori was actually correct, she just didnt have a ton of info. SamusHunter on the other hand just threw mud around and happened to hit a few targets... Still personally do not automatically believe whatever Nate says but he is certainly realiable!
I don't watch a lot of YouTube stuff, I'm more into anime. But I do often watch official Nintendo and Pokémon channel trailers, as well as the daily 15-20 minute HDVee episode, which covers the Pokémon announcements and leaks of the day. Most of the leaks are just stupid 4Chan crap, but I watch it anyway because it's another source of daily Pokémon content and Pokémon is my favorite franchise.

I never buy used games because you never really know where they've been or what people did to them before they ended up in your hands. It's why I buy books instead of going to libraries.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
I might as well state my opinion as well: I like the used market. I can get stuff that is no longer produced, and sometimes at a cheaper price too (at libraries, you can borrow them for free). Take for example, my uncle wanting to upgrade his phone and selling me his still in good condition Google Pixel 3 for 50 bucks. That thing lasted me a solid three and a half years until June of last year when I got my new Samsung smartphone, and it helped me get a smartphone much sooner. I fear that the used market will only become more important to me over the course of my life as new physical media starts to no longer come out eventually. Digital has scared me quite a bit recently.
