Honestly a bit of a bust this time. Unless it's more different than I remember, they should have released this OST alongside the original game's, much like how they did for Luigi's Mansion and the NES games with Famicom Disk System versions.
Maybe it has something to do with the original being in the starting lineup and them not wanting to confuse people. I guess we'll see when they add Majora's Mask (either just the original or both versions).
EDIT: And I suppose this means there's a good chance we'll get a week with just Star Fox 64 3D eventually.
Well, the songs they do include are remastered, and in general sound louder if you compare them directly to the originals. (I assume any songs missing were completely identical to the N64 ones).
Plus there's a at least one orchestral version and the extended credits theme (which is also orchestrated).
As of now, the only major Nintendo franchises not to have a soundtrack included yet are Xenoblade, Punch-Out, Earthbound and Wario (both platformers and WarioWare).
This doesn't mean any of these will be this week's update, but it also doesn't mean none of them will.
Honestly, I'm guessing DK64 for this week's soundtrack since Bananza is out this week. I'll listen to the DK Rap first thing!

If there is any logic behind their decisions then I predict a double bill of Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. Maybe we get '94 in there instead.
I'd much rather have 64 or tropical freeze, but I can't ignore the fact that it is the Famicom's anniversary tomorrow, those were launch games and DK is getting his big return this week.
I'll stick with Super Metroid (just feels too obvious of a pick) but I'll also throw in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
I know there hasn't been any sort of pattern with music drops aligning with game releases but seeing how hard Nintendo's been pushing DK in the limelight, I'll make an exception lol.
@AJWolfTill We don't yet and there's probably a few of them but I'd imagine Naoto Kubo has been heavily involved.
He was the music lead for Super Mario Odyssey including composing Jump Up, Super Star.
Given the abundance of vocal tracks in Bananza, I'd imagine he's had a field day!
It's an odd one, you have Famicom anniversary but last week's soundtrack was kind of a 1 song week considering the original OoT was already on the service so following up a really short soundtrack with a really short soundtrack isn't the best idea.
As a result, my prediction is Pikmin 3 as that game's anniversary was very close by (the game released on July 13th 2013 in Japan).
mario kart 64 was lowkey so unexpected but im happy!! all mks have great soundtracks 😼

I feel like SNES, N64 and Switch are getting most of Nintendo's attention regarding new updates.
Would love to see more attention on their "modern retro" systems (GBA/GameCube/DS/Wii/3DS/Wii U).
