I can't wait for this movie, it's going to be the biggest movie release in history, I just hope it's good.
If they don't film at least 3 films back-to-back then I'll be disappointed, I can't be waiting 3-5 years between movie releases, I'm getting old and I may not be here. I can't leave this life on a cliff-hanger lol.
I just read the comments for the recent news article posted on the rumor of who's playing Zelda- and it makes me not want to be on the site anymore. Lots of transphobia, or people saying the movie will bomb because of the identity of the actress in said rumor.
As someone who's trans, it genuinely hurts seeing that this website has so many hateful users on it- some of which I've had good interactions with in the past.

@VoidofLight I hadn't noticed the comment section of that article but I agree there were some toxic people. But before you give up on too many people, do realize that some of the commenters complaining aren't complaining about it because the actress is trans but just because people always complain about role choices. Personally I didn't realize Hunter Schafer was trans (which, honestly, who cares either way), but I still assumed the comments would be full of complaints no matter what.

@FishyS Ehh. A lot of those comments are the same talking points I see thrown around when people are thinking a film or show is going to ruin a company because of "woke." It just makes me uncomfortable.

I just can't see how the movie will 'work' as live action.... the tonality of the project especially worries me. I can just visualise this being the usual quippy/snarky 'Marvel Humour' with a thin plot and some adequate action set-pieces.
Without a shred of sarcasm though - I genuinely think Tom Holland would/could be an amazing fit for Link (!) The casting for this film is pretty challenging though, and I think Zelda is a tougher call than Link.
@VoidofLight Very fair, I just meant that since you were disappointed about particular people it might be that some of those people were complaining about other things. Some people were originally saying Chris Pratt would destroy the Mario movie as well.
I would've preferred animation, but I'm certainly excited to see how this turns out!

I would prefer it more as a TV series like Fallout, Wheel of Time or Last of Us. The reason being is there is so much lore and timelines involved with the Zelda series I cant see them just focusing on one especially for the length of a movie. My biggest fear is we are going to see an amalgamation of every Zelda game, taking bits from this game here and that one here and basically being a summary of the whole series.
If it was a tv series they can dedicate a whole season to each story, like the first one can be Skyward Sword and then another can be Zelda 1 and the. Zelda II etc. Each season can let the story grow and you arent confined to a 2 hour running time.
@Tasuki, actually, that's a really great idea! I think one 6-10 episode season (depending on how long the episodes are) would be great for each game! Makes me wonder how they would do the timeline split?

Sounds like it's going to be awesome. I can't wait to see what eras of the franchise they draw from and make homages too.
Hopefully it starts out in a village setting like all the classics, and then slowly incorporates more mysterious magical elements from notable titles like Link's Awakening and Breath of the Wild. No clue where it will take place in the timeline, or if they'll add new interdimensional elements to tie it into a new film legacy. Maybe it will be familiar to players who grew up with the title during the transition to 3D graphics and the establishing of the series while still incorporating fresh elements.
If we could see more colorful aesthetics like in Majora's Mask and Skyward Sword, instead of the drab Twilight Princess/Tears of the Kingdom aesthetic, that would be awesome.
