Supraland
First person/platformer is an uncommon genre (Metroid Prime, Mirror's Edge, Neon White, Ghostrunner, and...?). I have to admit that the first couple hours of Supraland have blindsided me. I haven't played a game like this since Jumping Flash back on PS1. Feels really good. An early contender for best game I've played in 2025.

@Arcwave Are you talking about the Phantasy Star Online games?

Currently playing Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 Soul Nomad after I beat Phantom Brave the Hermuda Triangle HD last month is what I'd like to say, but I got stuck in a certain part in the story because of a glitch/bug. Might play Rune Factory 4 Special, and 5 if I can't make any progress in Soul Nomad.

Jagged Alliance, the original 1995 game. Just been experimenting with different mercs on a team for fun. The game has 60 mercenaries, and I wanted to try other ones without messing with my current save file.
Jagged Alliance Rage, similar to Jagged Alliance, started a new game to experiment with different mercs. Albeit a much smaller selection as this game is a spin-off.
Sonic X Shadow Generations, playing more Shadow Generations and so far it's an excellent game. Also played a bit of Sonic Generations.
Faaast Penguin, this one surprised me. I saw this game on a stream from a VTuber named Pippa Pebblesworth. It looked like Mario Kart, and it was free to play, so I downloaded it to my Switch. It's an elimination battle royale styled race where penguins race downhill, and it's a lot of fun too. I'm surprised I never heard of this one before.
Still in the Sonic mood after watching 3 last month, so I’ve just started playing the mobile ports of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog game and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
I downloaded these maybe two or three years ago but never completed the mobile ports. I was midway through them but I think I didn’t complete them because the games levels got frustrating for me later on, but it mainly comes from the controls on phone. I deleted both afterward but I’ve decided to give them a go again. I’ve fully completed the mobile port of Sonic CD (twice, one time as Sonic and one time as Tails) and it motivated me to try and complete the other two, plus I just found out you can make the control stick and buttons bigger, so it’ll make controlling easier. The port of 2 has Knuckles as a playable character, so I’m starting my playthrough as him.
Alongside that I also decided to try out Sonic Forces Speed Battle. It’s an okay game, it’s fun in small sessions but what annoys me is how it takes forever to unlock characters and how you need to get a specific amount of character cards to level them up. I have about 6 characters unlocked, so it’ll take me a while to get a lot of them.
The last game I’ve also been playing is Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! I’ve just been playing some new songs they added and some of them have become my new favorite songs (like Play With Fire and Sage, both by Camellia) but there are a few I have but haven’t started yet, so I need to get onto those later. I did kind of want to challenge myself by playing a few songs on Master difficulty and I full combo’d one song I’ve had issues playing! The chart gimmicks that the newer songs have are so fun and cool to play with; sometimes the note speed will slow down in real time for a few seconds, or the note changes suddenly while playing.
Just finished Pandora's tower and really enjoyed it. Also playing Batman -brave and the bold on Wii. I have a big backlog on Wii and Wii u to get through

Just finally finished/beat 'Nine Sols' - after a couple of weeks struggling against the final boss, Eigong.
Foolishly, I hit the 'point of no return' (prior to the fight) without realising so.... meaning that my level/build/upgrades were effectively frozen, with no opportunity to backtrack and get some extra power for this fight. Having watched a few YT videos for inspiration, I believe I was severely underpowered for this battle (!) adding an additional challenge.
However, after a couple of weeks - perhaps 20-30 mins of attempts per/day - finally beat Eigong yesterday. Resisted the urge to drop difficulty from Standard - -> Story, and felt an enormous sense of accomplishment in not caving.... staying strong on 'Standard' mode!
A terrific game overall, like a 2D Sekiro. I'd highly recommend for anyone who likes challenging games with a heavy combat/parry focus. If you enjoy Metroidvanias in general, and rank Sekiro highly, this game is for you. A couple of bosses were real walls for me (Eigong included) but in fairness I was well underpowered for both of those fights.
Having a toss up now of what to play next... thinking either Rise of Golden Idol or Loco-Motive... can't decide!
Started playing X:Men Children of the Atom for the MVC Collection.
I am enjoying it but I also reminded myself of the unfortunate fact that I don't generally play fighting games. I was able to beat the 3rd Darkstalkers game on the previous collection but otherwise I'm not sure how well I'm gonna do at these games.
Just started playing Mega Man Battle Network 3 via the Legacy Collection. Blue version in particular. I already got pretty nostalgic for it, haha, since BN3 was the first one that I've played. The music for the internet area and regular battles already took me back. I'm about halfway done with the first scenario, haven't got to the first boss yet.

During the past week, have been playing with this...
Decided to charge up my Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch and start playing it again. Played Super Mario Bros and some Lost Levels, and also beat my high score in Ball. Having fun messing with the clock by spawning in Koopa Troopas.
Also, played more Jagged Alliance with my new team and I'm liking how they play and work so far.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
Continued with Final Fantasy VIII and I already feel, like I can lose myself in the game. Games need soul. Sometimes I feel like there is an agenda to make modern games feel empty and shallow and with these feelings entertainment just feels depressing.
I am glad the golden age of gaming produced so many classics.
Dragon Quest Builders 1 PS4
I have reached Chapter 3 and rescued Barbella.
Still working on getting more medicines as the ingredient of making medicines is really hard to find in chapter 3.
Got sick, and, as a result, impulse bought Miitopia. Less than halfway through the first world and I've already remembered why i loved this game so much on the 3ds.
Half-decent at Ace Attorney and horrible at strategy games, but I love them both.

Just started playing Pikmin 4. Having a good time with it so far and I even completed my first underground area. Made some good progress in Mega Man Battle Network 3 and got my style change (Wood Custom style). I also played some Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete and got some more event tasks done.

Tokyo Xanadu Ex+
Probably the most anime a game can be without actually being an anime. Character introductions are broken up into chapters. And every chapter begins by playing the attract mode CG animation every time. I can't remember another game that does that?
Here at the ten hour mark it has been an above average action rpg experience. The gear progression of collecting resources, similar to the newer Ys games, is here. It works. You can only grind gear so far until you're required to move the story forward in order to access newer resources, have shops update their offerings, etc.
It's all familiar and fine. Actually, kind of cozy if you don't get bored with the lack of challenge.
