@Ruler-Of-All-Evil OK, after that reply in the Sonic article, I need to know, which wiki are you from? You don't have to put your username but at least narrow it down for me! đ
Huh, interesting. Iâd like to know as well. (If itâs fine)
Like it says in the book, we are blessed⊠and we are cursed.
@Tyranexx We had a great time, including four of us going through all the DLC tracks in a 2 hour marathon this morning, so suffice it to say I've got a good MK fix for the time being. All of my rivals took a few cups to warm up but I had perfect 60 scores and finishing dead last in equal part.
@Yousef- I have actually never watched a ton of movies with Keanu Reeves despite how well-known he is. I donât really keep up with mainstream movies or super well known ones like The Matrix, but I am glad I saw the film. Most of the time, the films I like are ones that have been released years ago. I think I should do movie nights before I go to bed. I was watching the film in bed and it was so comfy
I do want to watch Saving Private Ryan at one point, but I donât think I will do it today or soon. I also donât know if I could possibly stomach realistic violence without getting somewhat freaked out. I can handle strong violence, but only if itâs animated or done in a visual art style that is cartoony. The game I played parodies a ton of other movies that Iâm assuming have similarly violent content (like the Godfather) so I donât think Iâll watch them. Iâm fine with only watching one movie it parodied.
The Matrix is rated R, but the content in there and the violence seemed PG-13 to me (though Iâm assuming the violence is R by 90s standards) so I was able to handle it. It was mostly gun violence and there surprisingly wasnât a ton of blood in it. Itâs the only R-rated movie I watched. I avoid R-rated movies most of the time.
@Pastellioli it is true that R-rated movies are no longer judged by the same standards. In the 90s, hardcore nudity wasnât a factor. Now it is. Case in point, the Deadpool Trilogy. an excellent set of movies, I might add.
Saving Private Ryan will likely be up your alley. Excellent film. Very little wrong.
Hardcore violence is not really an issue in movies you mentioned like the Godfather, but I can see where youâre coming, friend. I do however think theyâre worth watching regardless so if you ever find the chance, go for it.
Movie nights are indeed comfy and you should definitely consider them as an option for a secondary hobby. Movies in general are quite therapeutic and can teach you a lot of important life lessons and wisdoms. Theyâll make you wiser. True story.
Not keeping up with mainstream movies actually aligns with my previous arguments more than you think. Youâre on the right track, buddy. Keep doing what youâre doing and you will discover more classics.
Like it says in the book, we are blessed⊠and we are cursed.
@Yousef- Typos are unfortunately very common, but also very forgiveable lol. I'm normally a great speller, but it's easy for me to fat finger things on my phone keyboard. I have average size hands, but my fingers are long.
@Pastellioli I've been trying to reinstate Tuesday movie night for myself after letting it lapse with how busy I've been (and traveling) over the past while. The Matrix and its two sequels are on my watch list. I've seen the first movie before, but it's been some time. Hoping to finally catch Inside Out 2 at the theater this evening.
@jedgamesguy Quite a Mario Kart marathon! Sounds like everyone did well in some camps. A great fix indeed; I'm guessing all are satisfied on karting, at least for the day?
@Ruler-Of-All-Evil OK, after that reply in the Sonic article, I need to know, which wiki are you from? You don't have to put your username but at least narrow it down for me! đ
@Tyranexx Hm, even though I did say I didnât plan to watch the sequels, I am sort of in a mood for The Matrix after being so blown away by it last night so maybe Iâll try to watch the three sequels for it. Thereâs a ton of popular and iconic movies that Iâve heard about and havenât seen, so I do want to find a few more to put on my watchlist besides the Matrix sequels and Saving Private Ryan,. The game that made me want to watch The Matrix and Saving Private Ryan so badly was Conkerâs Bad Fur Day, which is pretty old but well known for inserting a ton of pop culture references in the game, and the references arenât out of nowhere and are used in relation to the theme of the level. The parodies really increase the memorability of it, though I didnât catch a few of them since I donât watch movies a ton đ Iâll try to link the parody the game did of The Matrix, since it absolutely blew my mind when I got to the scene late at night when I first played it. Itâs why I got so hyped when I got to the lobby shootout scene in the film.
I miss going to the movies a ton, but I am hopeful me and my family can go to the theatre sometime in December or January for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. I did hear a lot of good things about Inside Out 2 and I have great memories of seeing the first with my family years ago, but it surprisingly isnât catching my interest at the moment.
Late movie nights at home seem pretty fun, and itâs maybe a hobby I should have alongside gaming and such. I do think I should take a break from playing games all the time and just wind down and watch something, like what I did with The Matrix last night in bed.
Here is the parody I was taking about. Itâs a one-to-one copy of the lobby scene from the film and itâs so goofy but cool! Warning that there is some cursing in it and itâs more violent and bloody than the original scene itâs parodying.
@Pastellioli I actually completely forgot there was a third sequel to The Matrix released not too long ago lol. I have a "movies I need to watch" list as well, though I admittedly make very little progress on it. I don't often sub to streaming services outside of Spotify and prefer the theater experience. Maybe one day when I have less other things to fill out my spare time (Riiiight....). I appreciate the Conker's Bad Fur Day context link. It isn't a game I've played, though I'd like to one day in some form that doesn't involve buying an Xbox solely for that reason. That scene is pretty on point with the actual film!
Fresh from the theater, Inside Out 2 is indeed a worthy sequel to the first movie. It's very much worth a watch. Especially regarding subtle details related to how the mind actually works and how we can deal with stressful situations. Riley uses some grounding techniques at one point in the film.
Part of the reason I have a movie night is to give myself a short gaming break. It's my main hobby, with reading coming in at a close second.
@Tyranexx I absolutely love Conkerâs Bad Fur Day. I 100% it and got all achievements for it on Rare Replay and also completed the remake back in January. I remember having an absolute blast with them both, but they can be a violent and sometimes raunchy, and the original has sometimes janky controls and a bad camera, but I think the writing and the dialogue are the gameâs strengths. The Matrix parody is maybe one of my most favorite moments from the game. After seeing it, it just made me so hyped to see the film it was referencing since I could recognize so many moments Conker referenced.
I can understand not wanting to buy an Xbox solely for it. I think that now that they have a Mature 17+ N64 app for the Expansion Pack, the chances of it becoming playable on the Switch are higher. Itâs actually one of the few N64 titles that a lot of people here want to see on the Switch! We just have to wait and see.
I heard that getting original N64 cartridges for the game are expensive, like literally around $500 to $700! Itâs apparently because of how unique and uncommon the game is with its gameplay design, but that pricing is still so ridiculous and makes it hard to play it officially without having to buy an Xbox.
Gaming and drawing are my main hobbies, but it does feel nice to take a break and watch something. I am thinking of trying to find on Disney+ to watch tonight and then seeing the Matrix sequels sometime later. I also like watching film and show analysis videos for fun, I usually watch them out of boredom but they are really interesting. I find the ones that add in comedic commentary but also detailed and well-thought analyses for the film or show they are talking about to be the most fun. I have also been trying to read more books, I do want to buy this ebook on squirrels in pop culture and media but itâs too pricey, so Iâll have to find something else.
I found a PS1 game video that I have ever played when I was teen long time ago.
It was Tail Concerto.
Aah....
Watching this gameplay bring back my memories when I had PS1 back in 1998.
Actually I found somebody have the original PS1 game in Japan version.
Well, I don't really mind with Japan version as I have ever played the game before with pirated disc so I can finish the game even with Japanese language.
I think I will order that game from my local online shopping website.
@Pastellioli I wouldnât strictly call it janky or say the camera is bad. Iâm well acquainted with games of that time and thereâs significantly worse offerings from that time.
Like it says in the book, we are blessed⊠and we are cursed.
Today is the Doraemon movie Nobita's Earth Symphony get aired at my local Cinema XXI.
Luckily, I found the nearest mall from my house to visit Cinema XXI that have schedule of Doraemon movie.
Gotta watch the movie at least two times in a week.
@Ruler-Of-All-Evil OK, after that reply in the Sonic article, I need to know, which wiki are you from? You don't have to put your username but at least narrow it down for me! đ
IIRC, Smashpedia.
Mkay... Leave a message on my MW there so I can figure out who you are!
@Yousef- I should have said that the controls are a bit slow at times (especially with the shooting portions) and I do think that the camera refuses to move at certain points, though my comment sounded ignorant since I havenât played enough old games with actually bad controls and cameras. The thing is, in Bad Fur Day, there was this tower portion where you have to climb up and pull a lever as well as get cash but the camera doesnât like to turn at that point, so I couldnât see where I was going to land and kept falling off and restarting the tower segment. The camera could be worse, but it sometimes makes parts of the game harder. Sorry if my initial comment was ignorant.
I think I will watch again the Doraemon movie tomorrow as anime movie at XXI usually only last long until 7 days before get replaced by other movies.
The Doraemon movie I watched just now was quite good, not really evoked my emotional feeling but it sure quite hilarious for some scenes.
The music from the fart. đ€Ł
And another hilarious part was the famous musicians like Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, etc became a robot in the movie.
@Pastellioli you donât have to apologize to me, friend. Iâm the last person on earth to get mad at you xd.
Hate to change topics mid-post but me and my dad drove 40 minutes to an arcade. It was long but was worth it. Initially we were gonna bowl since some decent (but far) bowling alleys in Kuwait. However, halfway through I informed my dad that Iâve never played pool before as we switched to that and had fun. He was surprised how good I was at it, even jokingly asked âdidnât you say you never played pool before?â I guess all my skills from playing Yakuza carried into real life. xd
Like it says in the book, we are blessed⊠and we are cursed.
@Yousef- that sounds fun! I wish I could do fun stuff like that with my dad too, unfortunately I donât see him a lot nowadays. I never played pool before. I have done bowling, but that was maybe a decade ago.
