@TheJGG Yeah, it's the game I played most recently. I'll try to flip-flop between that and Blaster Master Zero 3. I have seen certain enemies that do spike damage. Not sure about bosses at this moment, at least. I agree, it's an excellent game.

@BruceCM
It was surreal to see ABBA return after 40 years got hiatus.
Have you watched the video of Don't Shut Me Down ?
It shown behind the scene the process of rendering ABBA singers from elder looking into their 30's age with futuristic outfits.

Rhythm gonna hit your head.

I heard about it but hadn't got around to looking for the new songs, @Anti-Matter .... So thanks for posting 1 & reminding me!

@MarioLover92 I really wanted that Monado keychain from Xenoblade Chronicles, but I didn't even know about it until it was sold out. Oh well. I'm sure something will come along eventually. At least platinum coins are easy to accumulate. Not so much gold coins since I buy physical 90% of the time.

I don't mind swapping cartridges in my Switch, though it's not something I do too often with some of the games I play lol. I generally stick with something unless I don't like what I'm playing. Unless I'm taking a chance on a game, that's rare these days since I have a pretty good idea of what I'll like. That said, a couple of digital purchases have been of games that I know I wouldn't trade in anyway, so I have less qualms about downloading them.

On my trip: thanks for the well wishes! Out of state wedding next weekend, small weekend trip in a different state the last weekend of this month.

@ogo79 I'll take your word for it! I've heard spam is excellent when fried. I've found plenty of recipes from all over the world. It's more popular than I thought lol.

@Anti-Matter I'm not sure why Star Force wasn't as popular. Maybe the fact they went with an alien angle vs. the whole internet/Net Navi approach? I like the Star Force games too, though I will admit I prefer the plot lines and characters of the Battle Network series. The Mega Man Star Force anime didn't run as long either. In fact, the ending of the second season was rushed; I watched it subbed as the second season never received an English translation. I did like the switch to using battle cards instead of battle chips, but I did miss having more grid movement. The Star Force games only limit you to three squares.

Capcom did take the Pokemon approach from Mega Man Battle Network 3 onward. There were some differences between versions, but it was still mostly the same game at its core. They even went with three versions for the first Mega Man Star Force* and (technically) did the same with the second SF release, but two "versions" were on a cartridge: Zerker X Saurian and Zerker X Ninja. Apparently the electric knight setup was pretty popular. XD Ninja had a wood type, and Saurian was fire. The third Star Force entries were my favorites due to how they used the Noise mechanic.

The combat in Battle Network is a hybrid of an action RPG and a card battler game. You can fire Mega Man's Mega Buster and move around the field, but you can also just the battle chips to give him different attacks, change the field, add buffs or debuffs to your own attacks, or heal yourself. There are rules on what chips you can use when though. The games normally are pretty good at explaining all the mechanics at the beginning.

Believe me, some Pokemon fans want changes to the formula, though to an extent I think some are fine with the core battle mechanics if they're into the competitive scene.

@Losermagnet They're hard to get rid of. My mom read about a paper bag trick where you can hang one up and make them think it's a paper wasp nest. That seemed to work a little, but it didn't fully scare them off. My dad had limited success with sprays too. We had some trouble with paper wasps and mud daubers too. The former earned me some nasty stings on my hand when I still lived at home.

@BruceCM Just did another raid and am wrapping up a few new quests before continuing with the plot. Should be heading to The Great Tree next.

@Snatcher Ahhh i see... nice! You got to the jungle. Fighting the shopkeep is actually a viable strategy, you just got to be careful they are pretty erratic. Did you hear about the secret paths?

Snatcher

@tekoii I did but I can't remember them to well as I saw it on a wiki about a week ago. so its a good idea for me to attack the shopkeeper? And I just need to figure out how to deal with him? bc killing him is pretty easy first time around. I also have yet to unlock the shortcuts.

BTW I only made it to one area and this game is a 10/10 for me.

@Snatcher Ahh, attacking the shopkeep can help a lot, in particular if he has a lot of stuff like bombs, climbing gloves, cape / jetpack. Though it makes each sub-sequent level harder because he starts showing up at the end of the levels and if more shops appear, the shop keep still wants you dead lol. The advantage though of killing him is, you would potentially have plenty of bombs, equipment, and a shotgun to deal with them, and whatever the rest of the game has but with the added challenge of fighting a shopkeep over and over.

The secret paths are really cool and really make this feel like a spelunking adventure. Oh heck yea, this is one of my favorite platformers hands down. Just wait until you've had hundreds of hours and have really had experience in beating and playing the game. I'm super glad you're enjoying it too though !

Imagine a Super Mario Bros X Spelunky, kind of like Crypt of the Necrodancer x Legend of Zelda.

That would be simply amazing T^T
