@Tyranexx Thanks! I shall continue to do so, actually. I am Mario's self-proclaimed #1 fan, after all.
Also Tyranexx and @Anti-Matter - the Xbox One never interested me, either. Not gonna lie...that console left an awful first impression with its always-online garbage. I did hear that MS toned it down a bit? And as much as I would love Rare Replay, I don't feel like buying the X1 just for that. I did have an Xbox 360 way back when though, but I didn't have too many games for it. Many of its big games were rated M and I couldn't play them at the time. And the ones I did play, I didn't truly get into them for whatever reason. It eventually got the RROD, too.

@MarioLover92 I would expect as much! Honestly, with all the talk of the March 31st Mario doom looming over us, plus the recent re-release of Super Mario 3D World, I'm starting to feel a bit of a Mario itch again. XD Which might mean I'll get around to SM3DAS before too long.
On the Xbox One: I have heard Microsoft toned down the "always online" beat after the backlash they received. I expect consoles to move more and more towards such functionality eventually, but some parts of the world just aren't ready or even equipped for that. Many places in the US don't even have internet service, or they're stuck with unreliable satellite or wireless options that are often expensive, have data caps, and at the mercy of the elements. Heck, before my former ISP cleaned up their act a little (though it was still atrocious overall), I'd be lucky to reach 1 MB/s download speeds during high traffic hours. And I was paying for 6 MB/s. Terrible company, but unfortunately they were my only broadband option at the time.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Seeing this Xbox talk reminds me, while I don't own one, the few Xbox games I have played are the PC versions. I was playing Halo 2 last night, and Super Lucky's Tale (not to be confused with the new one Switch got) was one of the first games I've bought when I got my gaming PC a couple years back. Plus, I can cross-play Halo with my friend who has Xbox (as long as I plug in a gamepad).
As for DRM, let's say there's a good reason why I like digital games best on GOG. No DRM on those games.
@Snatcher I don't think the Switch version of Apex looks bad, if anything, it reminds me of the PC version on lower settings. I haven't had trouble playing it at all, this is coming from someone who plays on PC with the game locked at 60FPS. Switch version plays as I expected it to, honestly I like it as an option to play when away from my PC.
Will say, it does disappoint me they decided to do the Ring's Fury Takeover LTM. Switch players won't get to experience the World's Edge or Olympus maps, or play normal Apex without the added rings until it's over.
@Sunsy
Speaking about XBOX...
I have some XBOX and XBOX 360 games, but you know my XBOX games are only 2 type games: Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix + Universe series and Kinect XBOX 360 games.
I still don't have the machines yet, though. 😅
Still looking from Tokopedia the seller who have original XBOX 360 USA machine (Must be USA machine) because i have XBOX 360 games (including from my list but haven't purchased yet) that strictly only playable on USA machine (Dance Masters, DDR Universe 1, DDR Universe 3).
But i'm not in hurry to consider XBOX 360 machine as my priority right now is building PS2, PS3, PS4, Wii U games quickly.
@Tyranexx The journal in Hyrule Castle was a great insight and really shifted my perspective on that particular incarnation of Zelda. I also agree that Midna's one of the better companions in the Zelda series, if not the best, because of her function in story and gameplay. She isn't intrusive like Navi or Fi, though I expect in Skyward Sword HD Fi will be toned down a bit. The main irritation with Fi was how slowly her text boxes scroll, therefore if an unnecessary clue is being given we'd have to waste more time going through it. And I haven't played the original Ocarina of Time but I expect Navi's way too in your face.
There's also companions that are really uninvolved with gameplay and story, such as (I'm guessing a few of these so I imagine it'll be wrong) Ciela from Phantom Hourglass, and Ezlo from The Minish Cap. The former exists only because you need somewhere to indicate where Link is going. Ezlo... he's a hat. That's as uninvolved as you can get gameplay wise, though if he's the reason you're able to shrink down to Minish size, great. The worst companion however, is Navi from Twilight Princess on Wii. She's Ciela, without any personality, backstory or dialogue. She's just.. so boring.
Midna isn't like either of these archetypes, she's a good blend of both. She's not horribly intrusive or unincluded, and she's treated as a character in addition to a companion. She has a very nice character arc, and some good development. She changes from hating the world of light to painfully leaving it. She also changes her behaviour towards Link, regarding him as a person instead of a means to an end, similarly to Zelda's (BotW) arc.
@MarioLover92 The Xbox never appealed to me when buying my first non-Nintendo console back in 2016. It didn't appeal to me when I bought a ninth-generation console (PS5) either, so the problem with Xbox is that they cater to such a focused group that everyone else seems left out. From my perspective, and please tell me if I'm objectively or subjectively misguided, I think up until before Microsoft bought Bethesda, Xbox's entire exclusive lineup consisted solely of different types of shooters. Gears of War, Halo, and another few I don't know about.
Now they have a much stronger lineup due to Wolfenstein, DOOM, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and everything else Bethesda has to offer, and this'll help them in the long run. But before they bought Bethesda their exclusives sucked. Now it feels like PlayStation exclusives are waning, but considering the likes of GT7, Horizon: Forbidden West, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, a new God of War, and otherwise, I'm expecting to eat my words, no, bloat myself with eating my words quickly.
@Anti-Matter DQ Builders... I'm torn. I like the Dragon Quest series but I don't necessarily like building games. I've played my fair share, including of course Animal Crossing but my creativity in that field is limited. Good thing about AC is that it plays so slowly that I don't have to get worried about getting burnt out.
@Sunsy You have a fair point, if I don't want an Xbox I can just use my PC. Fascinating dynamic they have but ah, well.
@TheJGG Yeah that's what I noticed too, it's always been known for having a ton of shooters, both from Microsoft and third-parties. Never was too big into shooters, as I'm kind of bad at them, lol. I do know that the Xbox also has Fable (an action RPG) and Forza Motorsport.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits looks awesome, by the way. Would love to play it (and other games, of course) when I get a PS5.
@Tyranexx Yeah...some households just don't have high-speed internet. My internet is pretty good overall, though it can get spotty at times, with either wait times almost on par with dial-up, or just failing to connect altogether. Personally I think that internet connections shouldn't be mandatory for consoles/PC games for the time being, outside of stuff like online multiplayer.

@MarioLover92 I forgot to mention Forza. I'm really into sim racing and Forza on occasion looks good. But Gran Turismo for me is better than Forza, and has so much replayability and depth.
I don't like shooters not because I suck at them. I do, but I suck at RPGs, yet they're essentially my lifeblood now. They're just so... mindless.
@TheJGG I've recently grabbed a Series S after missing out on most of the Xb1 generation - traded it in after Gears 4.
I'm actually surprised by how many exclusives they have and quite a few strategy titles like Halo Wars and Gears tactics.
I also never realised how many 360 games I had bought (or had grabbed as part of Gold), I've got a collection of over 200 games to choose from and then with Gamepass on top I have 300+ games to play. I dont think I'm going to be buying games on it for a while - especially as all new first party games are free on release
I finished Transformers Prime Wii U storyline just now. 😀
Megatron battle was **** hard. 🤬
But Final Boss battle was easy peasy, anti-climax if i said. 😆
It was quick since the storyline was very short and only divided into 13 stages.
Well, the storyline was... mediocre in my opinion, it was like 2 hours of 1 episode.
Question about these Skylanders games. (image from Ebay)
Do i really need a portal + 1 any Skylanders + 1 any Vehicle to play Superchargers Wii / Wii U version ?
@TheJGG Yeah, I usually watch the Xbox presentation mostly because the games appear on PC too. Also because my nephew has Xbox, so it's nice to know what new games he may get to play.
@Anti-Matter Yes, you do. These games are practically unplayable without the base and figures. I have Swap Force, SuperChargers, and Imaginators. SuperChargers requires vehicles for segments, and Imaginators uses creation crystal pieces.
Worth noting newer figures will not work with older games. Example, I have a figure named "Splat," she works in SuperChargers and Imaginators, but not Swap Force.

@PokemonGirl99 I don't live even near the US so I'm not sure my understanding of their situation with COVID is quite deep. I'd guess that they'd only let you in if you've been vaccinated, or if you have a negative test. But in honesty considering the... range of mental capacities among the population some people would never take a vaccine.
If the higher-ups making the decision for SNW are antivaxxers you can bet everything you'll be able to go. But next summer... I'd suggest not keeping your hopes up, and if they do open you'll be surprised. If you expect them to open there's of course the chance you'll end up disappointed.
@Sunsy I'm like that too, I watched a Pokémon Presents a few months ago where Pokémon Snap was revealed, despite having never played a game from them in my life.
@Sunsy
I think i will only consider a few figurines that i like the most since the separated figurines are quite expensive.
Btw, here is the case.
I found a seller from Tokopedia have Superchargers Wii game only while i found other seller have The Wii U version bundle complete with the 2 starter figurines + 1 vehicle + 1 blue portal.
1. Can i use the portal from Wii U bundle for Superchargers Wii ?
2. Can i finish the games with just only the starter figurines, without relying on other figurines ?
3. I saw there are different shape of Skylanders portal. Can i use the portal from other Skylanders for Superchargers and vice versa ?
4. Where should i connect the portal ? To the USB slot on Wii / Wii U machines ?
Also, if i buy those games on this year (late adopter) are the games still playable and do they need updates ? (i was thinking the Disney Infinity case that need the updates)
@TheJGG So, have you ever gotten a chance to play Forza Horizon? I never wanted an xbox, but man, Forza Horizon 3 & 4 are crazy good. The variety of stuff, locations. The races where you go off road, cross country(through yards, fields, farms, woods, mountains, etc), it's so crazy, entertaining, and fun - sometimes it's with an classic english coup, or modern porsche, or full-on off road buggy. The street racing stuff is great, but so is everything else.
Forgive me if I mentioned Horizon before. Every time I visit my brother we play Forza Horizon. We played through Horizon 3 & 4, taking turns doing races, missions. So fun.
@PokemonGirl99
With current pandemic situation, i think you should wait longer until the pandemic is over and you get vaccinated.
