The DS Lite had so many cool color schemes, I had the black/red one.
Also that battery was unmatched. One aspect that isn't very good nowadays is that the pixel density is very low, so pixels are visible (though it looks kinda cool for 2d games).
To be fair I didn't play mine a lot, since I got the original 3DS not that long after I got the lite (and started playing DS games on it instead). But playing Mario Kart DS's mission mode after finishing homework was always fun.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
@Vinny
My NDS Lite is Pink color from Love & Berry edition. 😂
I bought it on January 2017 with very ridiculous cheap price, around US$ 20.
I use my NDS lite for playing GBA games (K-1 Pocket GP 1 & 2) by mostly.
@Anti-Matter What kind of theme? Death and destruction, of course. I bring the Mad Titan to my island...
Nah, just kidding. I've only been playing for two evenings, so I'm not that far along yet.
@NotTelevision I was going to say Metropolis, but you already mentioned it. There's quite a few movie references and/or styles in the Bioshock games. There's probably also a little bit of Citizen Kane in there, and if we think long and hard, we can probably come up with a couple of others as well...

The talk of old consoles and all the colors they had just reminds me of how I am bummed that Nintendo stopped releasing new color pro-controllers and joy cons. Not that I "need" anymore, I have too many already, but I like having different ones. We never got controllers for anything past Super Smash Bros, right? No Fire Emblem, no Luigi's Mansion, no Xenoblade, etc etc. Nor have we gotten any more basic colors either. Aside from the Pokemon Switch Lite and the Animal Crossing Switch, we have no other color Switch consoles. I guess they did add one color Switch Lite, that pink one.
I just think back to Gamecube which came in Purple, black, silver, orange, red(Japan only, a Gundam theme'd one that I nearly bought for way too much money) and light blue.
@Anti-Matter so how many DS variations do you have now, across all models?

@ThanosReXXX I have reactions to a lot of that stuff, but not to where I'd need to head to a hospital or clinic...yet anyway. XD I'll take the creeper over poison any day though. The latter gives me a pretty good rash and will make my skin weep sometimes. Fun stuff.
Other than keeping an eye out for certain native plants, the outdoors here is a decent place to hone your photo skills. I actually caught an image of two Canadian geese with their half-grown goslings awhile back, but I had to zoom in to take it. The resulting photos unfortunately weren't the best. I didn't want to disturb them and wanted to keep my distance. XD I've never personally been chased by a goose, but Untitled Goose Game isn't off the mark at all lol.
@NotTelevision According to Wikipedia, it looks like Dollywood started out as its own thing, but in the mid-70s it was picked up by the Herschends, the current owners (Dolly Parton apparently didn't purchase a stake in it until a decade later). It was apparently called Silver Dollar City Tennessee for a little while.
Looks like Tennessee Tornado was constructed in 1999, so it's been a little while since you've been. They'd just opened Lightning Rod when I went, so that would've been back in 2016. Where does the time go?
I learned about the sad fate of Six Flags New Orleans some time ago and just recently found a video online that explained Astroworld's downfall. For the longest time as a kid, I had a comic book I'd gotten when visiting the Six Flags St. Louis location (still the only Six Flags I've been to) that had a map of all the locations at the time. This showed three in Texas, including Astro World. I always wondered what happened to it, then I ran across a video covering it on the Defunctland YouTube channel. The channel primarily covers the closings and/or histories of theme parks and rides, but they cover other material like TV shows as well. I highly recommend it if you're into theme parks from a historical perspective.
I have yet to get to Cedar Point, unfortunately. It's on my bucket list of things that I want to do within the next few years. Unfortunately, it's quite a drive for me, plus I'm gonna have trouble finding at least one other person to go with me. My immediate family isn't really into high-octane thrill rides TBH. I'm an outlier.
@Heavyarms55 That's generally what I've thought: the majority don't mind some of the changes. It's a VERY vocal minority making the statements.
On your points...I don't think #1 would be very feasible. As you mentioned, that is a huge undertaking that I'm not sure would even be worth it in the long run in lieu of the other points. Done properly, I could see point #2 being somewhat viable but still a pain to pull off in many cases. #3, which is what they currently seem to be doing, isn't bad. For all we know, TPC has had a very similar discussion. I can't say I'm on board with all they've done over the years, but when the franchise has become the juggernaut it currently is...sacrifices have to be made.
I do notice via following Serebii that the raids in Sw/Sh shift every so often like in Pokemon Go. I just hope that means that some Pokemon rotate back in so that later game adopters like yours truly are able to nab them.
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
@Heavyarms55
I have two NDS Lite actually.
Pink color Love & Berry edition 😅
And White color.
But my White NDS lite is broken (Cannot turn on) 😫
I can find another White NDS lite from Tokopedia with cheaper price.
For 3DS, I have three machines.
Pink White Old 3DS XL USA
Pearl White New 3DS XL USA (from playasia)
Pearl White New 3DS LL Japan
Looks like i will get New 3DS XL Europe Fire Emblem edition soon.
I have found one from Tokopedia.
Hopefully my game shop owner can quickly order the machine before someone else buy the machine.
@Tyranexx Yes the raids do shift - though we haven't had repeat events yet I think they'll role around eventually. I really like raid battles in SW/SH. I think it's one of the best features in the history of the series. The Mewtwo event was the best because it actually demanded 4 players work together and plan out a team and strategy and you actually needed to use fully EV trained ubers/legendary/mythical Pokemon to be able to fight him. And even then it was still only likely that you could win. Though the average raid can be beaten with just 1 vaguely competent human ally. AI allies really suck but lower tier raids you can solo. It does look like, and I hope this is accurate, that raids will be a big part of the DLC. I'm hoping for more Mewtwo level events too! Preferably ones that aren't event only but just a new difficulty level. Mewtwo was labelled 5 star but comparing him to regular 5 star raids is like comparing a pro soccer player to your local middle school team. lol. I think one of the trailers even mentioned going into the Pokemon nest or something to track down raids. Though I could have misunderstood what they meant.
Also yeah, I am sure Pokemon has talked about the various things they could do too. As much criticism as they get, I don't believe for a moment that TPC or Game Freak are just winging it. We might not always agree with every choice they make but I don't buy into the idea that they're just lazy or incompetent.
@Anti-Matter Oh wow, you actually found a Fire Emblem one at a decent price? Lucky! I wanted that back in the day but I didn't have the money to justify buying it. Since then I've not seen one at a decent price unless it was beat to hell or outright broken.

I played Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4 for 3 days in a row and have reached the part where i should rescue Malroth at Malhalla, the bloody creepy place.
I understand why the game has been mentioned from ESRB rating contain Mild Blood. The place itself when you look at was like bloodshed place (red color blocks), blood river, animated blood when the shadow foes died and disappeared.
As i played DQB2, for me who is not familiar with Dragon Quest franchises, the more i played the more i heard about occultism and biblical storyline.
I just couldn't fathom why did Hargon really want a total annihilation of universe ?
Even i knew it was a game but somehow the storyline could possibly twisting your faith. The concept about the world we live was a fake (illusion), creation was a pathetic effort, destruction was the answer to end the illusion, etc.
I saw Dragon Quest series was heavily inspired from Medieval age with Catholic vibes as i saw Nun, Goddess statue (Mary statue), a Fork sign instead of Cross sign, teaching of Hargon (Satan), Satanic worship from Unholy ritual, etc. And let's not forget about something that considered as "Mature" things such as Bunnyladies (prostitute), Puff Puff / Buff Buff (Sexual innuendo), Bar with cards and alcoholic drinks, etc.
As i nominated Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4 as the Best PS4 game i ever have, i felt weird to digest the deeper and creepier storyline from Dragon Quest series even in Chibi Cartoon style. I guess it has some similarity with Final Fantasy series with theme of humans against the God (FF IX, FF X, FF XIII Lightning Returns).
@Eel
Trivial things but i think monster design on Dragon Quest series was very Basic as drawn by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball series).
I think the monster design on modern Final Fantasy have some cool / complex looking design.
Just take a look design of Dragon from Dragon Quest (Malroth for example) and compare with Bahamut on different Final Fantasy series (FF VIII, FF IX, FF X, FF XIII).
On talented artist hand, they can transform Ice Godess Shiva from Basic looking ice goddess on older Final Fantasy into very Unusual and Complex design of Ice goddess on FF XIII.
To be fair some final fantasy enemies and characters are over-designed. They try too much with all the belts, pieces of randomly colored fabric, extravagant hair, etc.
It's kinda interesting how Toriyama and Amano are like, polar opposites in terms of style.
@Link-Hero Thanks for the offer, but I don't have NSO, and considering this month's spendings, I don't think I'm going to buy it any time soon. Also because I'm not interested in its meager offerings in general.
And besides that, my Xbox Live Gold subscription is about to expire, so that will be renewed first.
@Anti-Matter Final Fantasy takes itself WAY too seriously, I completely agree with @Eel. The older games from 16 bit and the first following titles were really good, but later on, they got worse and worse, far as I'm concerned. Dragon Quest on the other hand, is fun to play, looks and feels like classic RPG's, which I prefer over the whole stylistic, "look at me being important in the world of RPG" style that Final Fantasy brings. Maybe they should take an example from Xenoblade Chronicles, on how to make an actually good story and interesting characters...
On a side note: in the Dragon Quest series, Puff-Puff is not so much a sexual thing at all, but rather a running joke throughout the series, which frequently changes up what is actually "given" to the player. And most of the time, it is DEFINITELY not the cheeky experience that you might expect.
In the latest Dragon Quest game, both Puff-Puff and Buff-Buff are just powers/skills, that you can gain, so that's even more innocent than it already was.
@Tyranexx Nice digging on the Wikipedia. That clears it up.
I’m going to watch that Defunkland episode. That’s a cool concept for a channel.
Yeah you need a partner in crime to tackle those coasters. No fun in going with the family if they aren’t into that sort of thing. Luring them with the prospect of paying 12 bucks for a funnel cake isn’t enough of an incentive I suppose 😛. Stuff is delicious though.
@ThanosReXXX Yeah Citizen Kane imagery in there as well. It’s cool how Rapture feel like a cohesive world, but not derivative of any one thing.
It’s a bit of a cult property (too much of a financial gamble for Hollywood), but I think Bioshock is one of the rare games that would work well as a movie or TV Series. It’s probably a bit too late now, but back in day it would’ve been cool.
@NotTelevision Yeah, it's an amalgam of several movies/ideas, and I actually think it could work very well as a series. Kind of like a horror version of Stargate Atlantis...

@Eel So... I got bit by a scorpion the other day... So much for your warning. I thought I could catch it with my flimsy net, but as I turned to swipe the net along the ground, it got me. Also already got stung by wasps two times. Oh, well. At least I got some Nook Miles out of that...

Hey does anybody know any good hiking spots/towns to visit on the east coast? I was going to go to California this summer but um obviously a global pandemic got in the way of that so now I'm going to have to drive somewhere relatively near. (I'm in N.C. so I'm in the middle if that helps)
I don't like Monster Hunter.
