@NintendoByNature Xenoblade? Ah, you mean the reboot of the Wii game, I had to think about that for a second there. I currently own the Wii version, so I'm in no rush to replay that, seeing as I never finished it in the first place. (I just wanted the special edition that came with the cool red classic controller) and I also have Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch, so I'm good, where Xenoblade is concerned, for years to come, probably...

@Ninfan You can't get "new" older systems, unless it's from collectors/scalpers at insane prices. The only alternatives are decent remakes, such as the entire line of Analogue consoles, which are remakes with actual hardware in them, as opposed to all the various clone consoles that are basically systems on a chip, that emulate the hardware.

Analogue consoles aren't cheap, but at least they are brand new and they are also still cheaper than any supposedly new and/or mint condition original retro console that you might find on sites like eBay and such.

Here, take a look for yourself: https://www.analogue.co/

@ThanosReXXX - I loved a good high score duel in the arcade. It really is a thrilling kind of competition and gets the blood pumping. I’m decent at Galaga, but I’ve only ever made the bottom end of a high score screen with that one. Nice move with the guest file for visitors. It would be a pity to secretly resent someone you like because you can’t knock their initials off the leaderboard on one of your games.

@Tyranexx - Yep, I loved a nice, tight cord wrap. I actually thought it was the right thing to do too. It didn’t damage the cord until many years later, and it only pulled the black rubber sleeve out of the controller a bit and exposed some of the wiring. Those NES controllers were bricks with buttons. Good thing too.

Yep, total lockdown tomorrow at midnight. I made a beer run unknowingly today and wondered why there were so many people out. I found out when I got back. We have a decent supply of food and stuff, but we’ll definitely need to make a run or two to pick through supplies between now and April 6th.

@Ninfan - To poop? To smash for points? To receive letters from a creepy hand? To save your game file? There are all kinds of useful toilets in video games.

@bimmy-lee Well, nice move... It's not really my own idea, and basically more of a logical one, and ever since Xbox Live has been there, it has been a standard option on Xbox consoles, so it's easy to set up. I only ever let other people play games on my own profile, when I'm stuck in a game or if it's a game I don't play all that much anyway, so that I can at least either get points or can move on again from where I was stuck earlier.

But yeah, it's handy. And it sure saves me from accidentally head-butting my Xboxes...

To get Night Soil from Dragon Quest Builders 2.

@bimmy-lee Ah yes, a lot of the old Nintendo hardware and peripherals surprisingly robust. My brick of a Game Boy Color has still maintained its shape over time, and even my GBA SP, last I checked, is still ticking. The only unfortunate casualty in living memory was that phat DS I mentioned to NBN recently.

I was fortunately well stocked on most non-food before this hit; I dislike shopping, so I tend to buy a big pack of something like TP or towels so that I won't need to get more for some time. I'm gonna need to head to the grocery store this week. At least I know most places aren't running out of perishable items too fast.

@ThanosReXXX yea, I'm not going to buy day 1, maybe not at all. I know I wont even get half way thru it so no point really. That'll be a good time to grab a.c. I'm thinking.

I'm disappointed Nintendo Life hasn't reported on the ARMS tourney promoted by NoA. It's something special that an IP thought to have been forgotten about has been brought back to life.

@Anti-Matter Yeah, I think ARMS 2 will be the next game by the Mario Kart team rather than a new Mario Kart for Switch.

@Grumblevolcano well they better discount arms 1 so more people can get into it. I'm not willing to pay full price 3 years later.

ARMS needs some kind of story mode or single play adventure to make me get into it. I'm just not drawn in by arcade modes and random challenge matches. I need some kind of sense of progress.

@ThanosReXXX - We don’t need a broken XBox. I’ve never had a Microsoft console, though I did play the original a fair amount. XBox live seems like an amazing service, so that’s probably where I’d go for a hypothetical second console.

@Tyranexx - Ooh, I’m headed your way to raid your grocery stores then. Certain things have been nearly unattainable here for at least several days now. Produce, eggs, chicken, ground beef, cheese, deli meat, and I’m sure milk too... it’s all gone or almost gone. I have a delivery from a really nice local farm for a lot of that stuff set up this weekend at my parent’s place because they have extra freezer space. We’d be pretty lean by the end of this without it, assuming it’s going to continue to be tough or impossible to find in stores.

I’m not trying to alarm you. I hope your experience is totally different. I’m just glad I grew up in the country and still know good people who will sell me things I need, because the stores in my city are straight up looted.

I really hope there is Character customization for ARMS 2, both ARMS mode and Boxing mode.
I really really want to play a proper 3D cartoonish Boxing game like ARMS where other 3rd party developers or indies still Cannot make proper Boxing games. Look at crappy Boxing games on smartphones.
I don't want Boxing / Kickboxing sports being forgotten.
ARMS for Nintendo Switch was like Oasis for my thirst of Cartoonish Boxing games.

Heavyarms55

@Anti-Matter Lol, you expected smartphone games to be good? Especially any game that requires any sort of fast control inputs or anything?

Anyway, character customization in ARMS would be pretty cool. The characters for the game just SCREAM creativity and flavor. Which is why I want to know more about them in some kind of story mode. It's like Splatoon, yes the multi player is the focus, but the single player in both titles was really really good and there's lots of interesting world building around the game. I wanted that for ARMS too.

Also why would kickboxing / boxing be forgotten? It's been around a lot longer than video games. It's going nowhere.

The past two days I’ve been setting up smart devices and sheparding Skynet into my home. So that’s been fun. I think I have it all figured out now. I’m gonna go to bed before the robots make me.

@Heavyarms55
The last Kickboxing / Boxing games i knew were K-1 World GP 2006 PS2 Japan, K-1 Pocket GP2 GBA, K-1 NDS, Hajime no Ippo PS3 / GBA / NDS / Wii, Sports Champions 2 PS3, Animal Boxing NDS, and many more.
It was ended after 2010.
And no more developers want to consider Boxing / Kickboxing games anymore.
UFC was NOT counted as Kickboxing games for me.
I banned that sport for Very Unattractive and Brutal way to fight.

I knew there is a Boxing mini game from Mario & Sonic 2016 & 2020, Tokyo 2020. However, i didn't feel they were a proper Boxing games as they DIDN'T even display the Health Bar on the Top. How did i know if i will get knocked down due to empthy helath bar if there is NO Health bar displayed ??
It was like a big frustration for me.
The idea was Almost perfect but it missed one important thing, Health Bar.

@Anti-Matter Oh, you meant kickboxing video games, not the sport overall. My bad. Yeah that's not a popular sport for video games from what I can see.

But I don't like sports games usually, so I don't know much about it.

Well that's new. I decided to take my older 3DS for a spin this evening and moved WarioWare Gold to it from the XL. Weirdly enough it wouldn't read the cart at first until I turned on the wireless. Then I had to perform a system update. Played it for a bit and then... "The cartridge has been removed". Um, no, it was properly seated in the system. Then when I rebooted, it blurted out that the game needed an update. I applied that, and it was smooth sailing afterwards...so far. Hopefully it was just a fluke with dust or a brief software hiccup. The game is new, and while the system is old, I've kept it in a zipped up carrying case with a different game occupying the cartridge slot.

Edit: I found a troubleshooting article on NoA's website that basically said to follow the steps that I did above. Hopefully that settles it; I don't think I've used the system since I played both Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Dragon Quest IV on it late last summer.

@bimmy-lee Things are leveling off a little here now I think, but that's only because a lot of stores have started applying hard limits. The milk, bread, and meat issues hit pretty hard here. Fresh fruits and vegetables? Not as much. It's almost like some people are afraid to to touch that unprocessed plant stuff lol.

At this point, the only thing I suspect I might need to hunt for is bread. But the bread I buy is some sprouted grain stuff that I love, but it isn't what many would call "normal" bread lol.
