@Zuljaras Yup, there is. That's the one that is a table top model. There's also the PlayStation Mini, and two home computer minis, namely the Commodore 64 and Sinclair Spectrum minis.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that I completely agree on sticking with appropriate games on the Mini consoles, and not putting all kinds of other stuff on there that doesn't belong on it, so I also only got SNES games on my SNES Mini. And not just because I find it weird/stupid to control games from other consoles/computers with a SNES controller. It's just not the same.
As for actually doing the soft-mod whenever you're going to, I'd advise you to take a look at 8 Bit Flashback's YouTube channel. He's done several videos on them, and it's his tutorial that I used to mod my SNES Mini, because it was one of the more easy to follow.
@ThanosReXXX I forgot the PS1 mini. I modded mine with electro inductive ink on one capacitator in order to read ALL USB drives. That way I could add more and more games. The PS1 is the easiest to add games to. And I have never heard of the last 2 minis you mentioned.
Do you guys know any anime like Outlaw Star and Trigun?
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
@ThanosReXXX I've been there too. I throw my back usually in frustration, giving myself whiplash 😉. I'm sure you can find something similar on Amazon though, i would imagine. Or would you like that specific one for nostalgia reasons? I can always keep my eyes peeled.
@Zuljaras Here's the info on the two home computer minis that I mentioned. Like with nearly all the minis, it's obviously mostly interesting for people that actually know and owned or still own these systems, but perhaps it might still make for an interesting read nonetheless.
@ThanosReXXX well alright then. I have a mental image of an 11yr old smashing their head against it lol.
On topic, I might be getting one of those tiger handhelds to collect when they come out. Not sure which one just yet. The other thing im eyeing is the turbo-grafx 16 mini which would be a brand new experience for me. I never played that console in my life. Only Neutopia which i beat the other day. $100 seems high though. Guess i have to think about it.
@Vinny Well, if you like space opera animes such as Outlaw Star, then you'll probably also like most of the Macross series and movies. Other good series that might also interest you are Fist of the North Star, Full Metal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Space Battleship Yamato, Cowboy Bebop, Combat Mecha Xabungle and Cobra.

@bimmy-lee Well I guess the positive could be more time your kids. But I bet that age is a big handful.
I feel like it might be hard for kids to focus on any school stuff right now. There isn’t exactly a sense of urgency with all that’s going on.
But hope you make it through okay, man.
I hold my breath calling home every time, especially after hearing my dad was Ubering again for cash, possibly exposing himself to the virus. Now I miss the “nothing much” calls, with my dad snoozing in the background through a Netflix show.
@NintendoByNature I personally think it's a decent price. In a lot of countries, it was far more popular than Nintendo or Sega, and the games on it are just as good, some even better. I already knew about the system long ago, because a friend of mine used to have the actual console, so I already played a number of PC Engine/Turbografx games. I even added the entire collection of games to my soft-modded Wii.
Just to give you an idea of what's on offer (momentarily ignoring what titles are actually on there, because it's going to be hackable, after all), here's a "best of" video:
Oh, by the way: are you a proud Animal Crossing owner yet, or did you manage to restrain yourself?

@ThanosReXXX got it. I dont think ive seen that many shmups in 1 highlight reel before 😉. I have no nostalgia for those which is why I'm saying 100 might be steep for me. I can probably grab some of the better games on the list on my wii u, correct? I know they have both Neutopia games and bonk games. Either way, it's on my wish list and might wait for a price drop to check it out.
As for A.C. we ended up buying the two younger ones bunk beds as they both needed some bigger beds and it's easier that way. $450.00 later, so I held off on a.c. lol
@ThanosReXXX - I see, it was an accidental headbutt while taking on the physical manifestation of shame. I had enough time in the arcades to know the importance of a high score, as well as how it feels when someone tops it; especially when it’s your own game. I’ve had high score duels with people over the years, including two memorable duels with strangers on Smash TV and Sunset Riders at an arcade in Portland, which both went on for several years, as well as with someone about a year ago for 17th place on the Streets of Red leaderboards, haha. That score is at 40th now.
@NotTelevision - Thanks for then concern, we’ll be fine. People all around the world have had to sacrifice because of this, and as you mentioned; I’m lucky to spend the time with my kids, even if it serious work right now. Mine are young enough that I could give them the Little Golden Book version of what’s happening in the world, and they’re just excited to be at home. They both love AC, and it’s really the first actual game we’ve shared together outside of Labo. It’s a real joy. I sure hope your pops can stay safe if he needs to be out in it. He should accept payment in TP and hand sanitizer, they’re more valuable than money right now.
Man, this Monday is crawling for me. I can't complain about my new commute, but work isn't any fun when you've been stuck at a mental brick wall with the same project for the last couple of work days. It's one of those issues that doesn't lend itself to interruptions...and I've had plenty for the past while. Taking a brief break right now before a monitor mysteriously flies through my home office window.
@NotTelevision I think it's best that we don't think too hard about that one. XD Or what happens to him in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Sounds like IN is hitting all-out quarantine too. As of 5 PM this past Saturday, all non-essential businesses, large gatherings, and non-essential travel are either banned or very discouraged.

@NintendoByNature Well, there are some games on the Wii U VC, but not all of them belong on the "best of" list. Nintendo's VC definitely does offer some weird choices for various systems, at times. Then again: that may or may not have been completely on them, so I guess we'll never know.
But as a really good alternative, an actual collection of the REAL "best of" titles is only a softmod away...
I'm still convinced it is a good price for the device, though. I've paid the same for the Genesis Mini, and the SNES Mini was more or less the same as well, pre-order included. The only one that was cheaper, was the NES Mini, so to me personally, anything between 80 - 100 bucks is just a price point that you can expect, where these mini consoles are concerned.
But I can definitely understand now having to wait with buying video games and/or apparel, when real world needs come first, and you gotta take care of your kids, so good on you. I also haven't caved yet, but we'll get Animal Crossing later, possibly at a discount...
@bimmy-lee Yeah, that was definitely the last time I ever shared a handheld with anyone, or at least the last time that I let anyone beat my high score. On all of my current consoles, there will only ever be supervised gaming for visitors, or gaming on a guest profile, so I can delete the inappropriate improvement of my personal high scores/achievements after they have gone home again...
As for arcade high scores: at one of my local arcades, I once held the record on Galaga for over a year, but after that, it went down the list rapidly, because people got better and better, and I didn't visit the arcade as much as I used to, and nowadays, it's gone altogether.
@NintendoByNature Ahh... you HAD to go and mention that title. You've no idea how long I've been waiting, and probably will remain waiting, for some news about that particular title.
As for Animal Crossing: I might be tempted to get it around the end of May, depending on cash flow and/or having enough work to reward myself with an early summer bonus, so I'll have to wait and see. Otherwise, it's probably going to be leaning more towards an early Christmas present...
