@ThanosReXXX Looking again, that place is actually within driving distance of a former coworker I'd like to see. Hmm...I sense another potential short trip....

@Eel Oh, it certainly looks better indeed. I already saw that from the first video, since I know these games quite well: the Atari 2600 was the second console that I played games on, only preceded by the Pong console, which I played on when I was just a 5 year old mini-Thanos.
I should have perhaps made clear that I meant the difference between the original Pac-Man and this homebrew version, not between it and the original Atari version. That is also why I said that the sound is pretty accurate.
But yes, it's actually pretty amazing how homebrew developers are able to get more out of the hardware than official developers, although admittedly, LONG after the console had an active life, obviously, so it's not like they didn't have more than enough time to actually gain those results...
It's basically what you also see happening with new games for NES, SNES and the Genesis. Most of these either look better than official games, or have added effects that weren't available back in the day, due to programming constraints, or because we can now add newer, more advanced chips to cartridges to provide for that.
@ThanosReXXX - Yep, every time a line bursts, my plumber replaces everything he can reach with PVC. I wish I could preemptively replace all of it, but the cost is prohibitive. I had him look at moving around a toilet and sink in the upstairs bathroom, and due to the weird layout of our home (four levels within two above ground stories), just that smallish job would have involved cutting into multiple ceilings and walls.
Maybe my expectations were low, but yeah, I was pretty blown away by their performances. I think with a few notable exceptions (Stones and Prince come to mind, maybe Springsteen), all the vocals during halftime performances are recorded “live” earlier in the week during a rehearsal and presented as live during the actual show to minimize mishaps. Clearly they have a live mic during the performance, or at least during certain portions of the performance, so they can throw in some flourishes, but the actual vocals are usually recorded in advance.
@ThanosReXXX She was a coworker I quite enjoyed back when I worked with her. She moved to Iowa with her husband as he was offered a better job position there with the same company. She's originally from Iowa, but her husband has family around my area.
She and I also get along in the animal department. Even though she's allergic and needs to take allergy shots often, she and her husband own (at last count) four felines.
What games are people playing online on switch besides the usual ones the usual ones I mean are Mario kart, smash bros, fortnite, is anyone playing the multiplayer games that cost around €2-€5
@Ninfan Online games I play, I usually play with my friends in Mario Kart, Team Sonic Racing, Crash Team Racing, Splatoon, Puyo Puyo, Doom, and Paladins.
BTW, Steam is PC only. If you do have a PC to play games, just make sure the game meet your PC's requirements so it runs properly, usually the game's minimum requirements are on the store page.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Ninfan - I can’t think of many games in that price range which also include online multiplayer. I guess the NES and SNES apps might count depending on how you assign what you pay for NSO. They’re full of games you can play online. I’ve never played any of them online, but I can imagine it’s fun with some of them.
@bimmy-lee Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. It did sound live, but you know, if something or someone gets THAT many compliments, then there simply HAS to be something left to complain about, it's the human thing to do...
@Tyranexx Oh... I wasn't actually expecting an explanation. I was just pulling your leg.
On a side note: being allergic and STILL taking in animals? That must be some animal lover...
Just boil some water and hold your switch a safe distance over it.
This sounds like a response I'd make in the right mindset.
@ThanosReXXX I figured you were pulling my leg, but I felt an explanation was in order. I intentionally made that one backfire. 😜
She absolutely loves animals. She'd even volunteer with the local humane society in some of her spare time. She even took in an abandoned kitten we found near our workplace once. He was a cute orange tabby.

@Eel sorry for the late reply when you're doing me a favor. Do you have that code and is it redeemed thru eshop or in game? Im ready when you are.
Edit: looks like in game takes you to the eshop but im only seeing where you can buy packs. I'm guessing you can enter the code where you would enter an eshop gift card code?
After nearly 2 months of weather that was a solid 8-10 degrees Celsius above the norm, winter seems to have finally shown up here in Shiga. Overnight it dropped about 12 degrees and just didn't come back up, and, over 2 months late, the first snowfall of the year. But my money is on it only lasting a couple days at most.

@Heavyarms55 In SE PA, here, we got some early snow early december, and I thought it meant we'd have a cold snowy winter, but it's been snowless and mild-ish. If I had gotten cross country skis like I meant to, they'd be collecting dust.
